8/4 update still does not allow for camera to be seen on EOS remote software on iPad. As before, camera is connected to wifi, but EOS software does pick up the connection...... iPhone works and is convenient, but not sure how many professional photographers rely on the smaller screen of a phone to proof pictures.... Disappointing as this worked fine prior to the July "updates".
Looks like yet another update was pushed out on 7/13. The 3rd in as many days.... iPhone is stable. However iPad does not work. I can keep the app from crashing by connecting to the cameras wifi first. However, when I open the app on my iPad I cannot see or take pictures despite the camera coming up as connected in the Canon app. If I do not connect to the camera's wifi before launching the app, it crashes. Too bad as I have a shoot tonite needing my iPad setup.
Managed to get the new 7/12 version to work on iPhone sporadically. Still crashes though. No longer works on iPad which is too bad given the size difference in screens. Deleted and re-installed and still crashes.

canon, this is by far the most horrible experience I’ve had with a DSLR camera app, and I’ve tried Fuji’s, nikons, even Lumix’s. Connecting to my phone is insanely confusing and impossible because it doesn’t instruct clearly what the camera is doing, or what I should be doing. the connection keeps failing when attempting to connect to the network that my phone is connected to, then randomly decides to use its own WiFi network, of which my phone doesn’t successfully connect to. It just infinitely loops the loading circle and doesn’t establish a successful connection.
Once it actually (in a blue moon) connects, transferring multiple photos takes AGES, and sometimes even freezes and doesn’t progress.
Canon, what the heck! This is sooo disappointing, if I could give your app zero stars, I would. Just buy a card reader that fits your phone because you will hate this. As for remote shutter, good luck connecting.. I couldn’t even connect it to demo for remote shutter so I couldn’t tell you how that behaves.

A friend of mind showed me this app a few years ago. I was so psyched! Having recently received my new Canon 90D, I put it to the test. It worked fine at first. Then it didn’t. Later during a shoot where I was photographing myself, it lost connection. This kept happening after every shot. I tried to figure it out without any success. As a result I lost valuable time and almost my sanity. Canon: You got a great concept here! Right now I’m on verge of being converted into a doubter among the many people who are equally turned off by this app. Right now the Covid-19 pandemic has millions sheltering indoors and need to keep busy. With the social distancing thing, people don’t have the available extra hands to help with filming or photographing. This app can be a lifesaver!!! Please fix this!!! People will love you for it!!!!!
Update: Still problems!!! Tried to establish a connection with Wi-Fi to transfer photos wirelessly to my iPad. I wasted a full hour with this!!! Totally useless!!!
