Are you kidding me? I paid $25 for the desktop app, and now I am expected to pay another $1.50 per MONTH to use the iOS version of Dropshare ? Wow. I’m sorry I went down this road.
Was a solid and useful app before they moved to a subscription model and pulled the rug out on features I already paid for 😒
Not happy about being hit up for a subscription to continue using an app that I already purchaced. Especially when I'm providing my own S3 accounts. I totally understand developers need to eat but I didn't sign up to feed them all every month just use some basic utilities that in a previous generation would have been one time pay shareware. I will be deleting this on my phone and Mac and returning to just using dropbox where I at least understand the value proposition.
$18/year to use an app that you still have to provide your own storage for. Let that sink in. 😂
I thought this would be a great replacement for issues I've had with cloudapp and droplr, but I'm not interested in a app subscription in order to use my own paid storage services.
Dropshare itself cannot upload more than one image at a time. If you upload multiple images from Photos via the share sheet it creates a zip archive (huh?). Images are not originals, but converted to JPEG, and exif tags are lost.
Because there is no us-east-1 region option, all attempts to connect fail. I’ve used every option in the list and they all fail with “Bad request: error 400”
The AKID and SAK work fine with other apps. Dropshare… nope.
Unfortunately there is no trial version... without going pro.
I was expecting to try Dropshare with some limitations (trial period, limit on upload/download) with Backblaze and other providers...
Uninstalling Dropshare after 2 minutes...
You are probably losing a lot of potential customers
Dropshare is great, especially when synced with BackBlaze. In iOS 13 it appears the extension share is broke.
This is a five star app when the extension is fixed.
You need this. It is user friendly highly customizable and you pay once.
The Mac app and the iOS app are absolutely perfect. The alternatives mean monthly service fees at $10 or more, Windows, or uploading items via browser. No comparison for self hosted workflow like this. Saves me hours every day.
I've been teetering back and forth between Droplr and Cloud app for years. Finally, this app offers the same great functionality at a lower price point - plus I own my data. That's a real win-win-win.
This is something I’ve been wanting for a while. It works great as a companion to the Mac version or as a standalone app. I really appreciate the additional features for the security-minded (HTTPS links, file name randomization, encrypted connections import/export, etc). I would definitely recommend it for those looking for more control and customization when sharing files.
I have been using Dropshare for nearly a decade now on both ios and macos and this has always delivered! Never had any serious issues with it and the one time I had a minor, cosmetic, non-breaking occurrence, the developer himself wrote back to me within hours saying the fix would be pushed to the new version! Just WOW. Best self-hosted screenshot/quick movie maker app out there!
Dropshare works very nicely for its purpose, but more than that the support is amazing. I reported a difference between the iOS and macOS versions and it was fixed in 2 days. I’m confident that if I have any issues down the line, they’ll get fixed.
I've used this app so much and so often, I'd kind of forgotten how integral it is to my workflow. It's like ⌘C or ⌘V—you can forget how useful it is until you realize how many times a day you use it. Rather than pay other SaaS services for the features this app provides, you pay once and attach it to your cloud storage of choice. My monthly AWS bill is roughly 17¢ for the storage I use, so Dropshare has more than paid for itself. Flexible, cost-effective, and easy to use!
Dropshare saves me a ton of time sharing files with my team. I highly recommend it.
App crashes when attempting to view uploaded files (connection is FTP to GoDaddy). Also crashes when I attempt to open or share logs.
Dropshare is truly amazing! Even after buying external storage, I’m saving money by not paying for WeTransfer, and I have more flexibility in how my files are being sent. Loving the customization of download pages as well!
Save a ton and get better features by using this app over the rest. No I'm not affiliated with them. Just long time devotee.
