4.5 out of 5
Got charged ..customer service never replied

I got LearnFrench to try it, my card was charged automatically for 60$ which is high for an app. I emailed customer service right away trying to cancel and they never got back to me. I wanted to stop the charge or switch for another plan. So far bad experience.

USED TO LOVE IT - now it won’t open on iPad or iPhone

LearnFrench was great but now we can’t even open it on my phone - always glitches. On our iPad it had so many issues we deleted it and now it won’t redownload.

If this gets fixed - I’m open to updating my review. We purchased an annual membership - I’ll be requesting a refund.

It was a solid five star until the new update removed un/une

Last year I did not hesitate to buy a one year membership because LearnFrench had the one thing that others didn't, the articles (une, un, la, le). For example, when clicking on 'Cat', it said, 'Un Chat'. When clicking on 'Mouse', it said 'Une Souris'. In this new update the articles are gone. Learning French is almost useless if you can't remember the gender of the noun. The best way to remember the gender of the word is to memorize une/un as part of the word, and not memorizing the gender separately from the word. Sadly, I am not going to renew my subscription for this one reason alone. I hope you fix this issue. I really want to use your app again. Thank you.

App crashes regularly

As soon as we started paying monthly, LearnFrench stopped working. Every other time we turn it on it won't load and I have to uninstall it and then reinstall it which is a huge pain. We need something that just works without all the fuss each time.

If LearnFrench would work it would have been great.

There’s great features, okay features and features that need Improvement

The best part about it is that they don’t translate. It’s hard to find apps that don’t. The worst thing is no instructions on the games. Play instructions that explained what the object of the game is could be in English without undermining learning. A few of the games have left my five year old nearly frustrated enough to literally throw my iPad at the wall. In the middle, is that the lessons seem to focus on vocabulary rather than scripts for practical use and the verbs that go with them. Since my daughter has used Muzzy already which seems more advanced than this, maybe I should have picked age 6+ on that question even though she won’t be 6 for 2.5 months yet. Is there a way to change the age setting since I think the higher level might fit better because of her past experience with Muzzy. By the way, her feedback is “ the games don’t say how to win so you gotta spend time figuring that out first and Muzzy is more interesting because there’s a cartoon to watch and games after you watch the movie in the Muzzy theater webpage

Way Too Expensive.

These apps have good games, and last year I looked into buying all of them in a bundle. They were $10 each, except Chinese was $6.99, which I did buy that one. When I was looking at them you could buy them in a bundle for all the languages at a discounted price. Like $30 or $40 for all of them.
I thought That was expensive and didn’t have the money for the bundle then. But I remembered it now and wanted to buy the bundle. But now they’re $30 a piece Or you have to pay a $30 yearly subscription. That is insane.

They games are fun but Not that fun. And they can help you learn the language, but not better than free apps. For that kind of money I should just enroll my kids in private lessons.
If they had been back at the bundle price from a year ago I would have gotten them now. But I shall go elsewhere for my language games.
Pretty disappointed.

Not intuitive

A couple of the games are not intuitive for children. In one, you have to match the spoken color to a black and white image. Kids would have to guess what color the objects are. For instance, what color is the cake? It could be anything. There is a root vegetable, but not the carrot. I can’t make out what it is so we guessed on the color. Would make more sense if the image is in color as there is no need for it to be in black and white. The next, you get to paint an object. Wouldn’t be too hard, but you end up having to mix the primary colors to get the others. Not easy when you get to making brown. It took me a few tries to get to what was accepted as brown. We haven’t finished the color lessons yet but I wanted to point out the difficulties we had so far.

You have to read this

I liked it because it was fun but I think there should be activities in it
like maps and levels for older kids .I don’t know but maybe more fun stuff. I don’t mean to say I didn’t like it but maybe you could just make it but with more activities. As I said before I know how much work it is . So thank you!

Cool app

Should have more words/categories for the price being paid other than that it’s cool and fun for children and adults to play.

Great app for intro to Fench

My 7-year-old wanted to change languages and LearnFrench is great to introduce French. The pronunciations are clear, there is a variety of games and methods to learn.

My kid loves learning French

Best way I’ve found to get my kid engaged in learning another language. Thanks Studycat team for making LearnFrench.
Happy homeschooling Mom

Great Kids App

My grandchildren love LearnFrench! The variety of games coupled with learning French terms, all in an interactive setting, makes this a fantastic children’s experience.

Fun French! Is totally fun!

All 200+ games and educational activities were totally free and fun. my daughter was having a blast playing the French activities I really recommend this program for schools and homeschooling thanks for reading my review

Great French learning app

My son used LearnFrench at age 4. He learned a lot of French words by playing fun games. More importantly, he started to have a significant interest in learning foreign languages. I strongly recommend it to the parents with young children.

Hello

Hello I would just like to let you know that two of LearnFrench ’s updated the platform type and the other app’s did not update so if you could please update them thank you have a great day

Great!

My 3yo’s are obsessed with LearnFrench, they’ve learned all the basics through studycat. I highly recommend for any beginner. Although I do miss the timer in the corner of the games(it was a fun challenge to try to beat my time even after memorizing all of the vocabulary!)but it’s still a fun app!

Great start to learn Vocabulary.

I’ve enjoyed playing this game for myself as a refresher from high school French. I also play with my grandkids. It’s a fun way to learn vocabulary and they just enjoy the play. Wish there were higher levels in Study Cat.

Love this App!

I’ve been trying to teach my now 5 and 2 year old French their whole lives, buying French immersion books and videos, muzzy, etc. They both fight me on it. I downloaded LearnFrench as a last effort and OMG, they both voluntarily play it without me prompting! Right now it’s very introductory with simple words but I love how they are initiating the learning.

$100!!!! Am I missing something?

My 8 and 6 year old mastered these games before the free trial period ended (and they play an half hour two or three times a week). Now there is no new content. Unfortunately,I was too busy to cancel my subscription. When I purchased this subscription for $100 I thought my kids would be learning French for a year! Only 60 activities that take about 3 minutes to master? For that price there should be thousands!! Imagine paying $100 for a 60 page book! . I feel as though I have been misled and taken advantage of. I want my money back or more content.

Rated by 5.5 year old

My daughter loves LearnFrench and asks to play it all the time. She’s able to do it independently. Very kid friendly.
