Overlay Photo And Video Layer Reviews

I’ve been using OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer for many many years, probably nearing 10 years. But now it’s time to delete it. Some of the great features have been removed, and in their place are constant, long, obnoxious ads that make OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer unusable. Every time you open OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer , a long ad pops up. Whatever. I don’t care. The real issue is that OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer crashes right after the ad plays. So I open OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer again, and another ad pops up. And again it crashes. You’re lucky to even get past the ads to upload a photo, and if you do, 10 seconds later another ad pops up and it crashes and you’re back to square one. For my needs I would gladly pay for a year long subscription, but over $100 a year is insane. Especially now that many of the neat features are gone (where are artists collections?). It’s been a long run, fused, but I know I can find a cheaper, more functional app.

I am updating my review because OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer has undergone a new, major change since the last time I reviewed it: OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer has now been mostly locked behind a $2/week subscription service. Doing some math, guess how much money that is per year? $104. For that much money I could learn how to use Photoshop and pay for that instead.

OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer was one of my essential favorites for creating digital art when it first came out and for a long time I left it un-updated and used all of its great features until I switched to a new iPhone and it forced me to update it. Now, all of the features I used to enjoy for free are locked behind an extremely expensive paid service. I haven’t used it since.

Really poor form, I almost feel robbed. I wish I could like and use OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer like I did before, I’ll miss it.

I’ve decided I did not want to use OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer after opening it one time ! One time. Didn’t even upload a photo to it and deleted it like so with other apps. Every other app in the world goes away when you delete it. You’re keeps popping back up on my home screen except now it just says the name of OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer and the picture is white and blank. I’ve deleted it. Restarted the phone probably about 20 times. I don’t back my apps up and don’t have the cloud sync to anything. No OTHER app is like this garbage. Tell me how to take it off my phone. Oh and I’ve already posted it online and asked for help and now everyone knows.

App used to be simple and functional. It worked great, aside from a few very minor bugs. 5 stars for that app.

Now, for OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer, one that requires a subscription for even basic functionality, and one that is barely functional due to an absolute plague of bugs, -1 stars.

Please, just revert the changes, and leave out the subscription overhaul. Let us have the basic feature for free, and advertise or something, I'd gladly watch a 30 second ad for every hour of basic functionality.

OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer itself is amazing but the weekly subscription model is both despicable and disgusting... Which makes it hard to want to support the developer. There are “cash grab” apps that seem significantly less greedy. Sure you don’t need a sub to use some of the best features (which is great) but you’re royally screwing people that are specifically (and blindly I’m assuming because with that weekly price why wouldn’t anyone just pay for adobe CC?) deciding to support you with their hard-earned $.

If you looking for a green screen, or really just a powerful editing app, this is not the one.
I am frankly disappointed of OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer, for the images that it shows above do not match it at all.
When I try to use my green screen, it literally just blurred out the picture I took to make it look like it was working!

Maybe I just need more information about this to make a good review; but looking at it for about 20 minutes, well, not impressed.

The blending tools are easy to use and there are many options. I would like to be able to blend sections of the image instead of an entire photo over an entire photo. Granted I can do this by using several apps to get my images set up and then transfer to fused. I may have to purchase the in-app packs to get more from OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer. However if all you need is quick and easy blending this is the best app for it.

Recently got a new phone and every time I try to restore from previous purchases OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer won’t load and reports updating. What does seem to work is the constant ads that pop up. What’s going on?

UPDATE: Seems to be working properly again! Hopefully I am grandfathered into my purchases and not suddenly going to be charged weekly subscriptions 😬

I like OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer, there seems to be a lot of options for blending images. I am just learning the process now, experimenting with different photos. Wish there were some detailed tutorials. Maybe I just haven't found them yet. Can't wait to create blended art images!

9/7/17 Still learning on OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer but it's cool to experiment

OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer allows me to put in certain overlays which is something most apps won't do for free. I think OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer is great for video editing needs, and the features are amazing. The only thing is when you try to change clips, sometimes it crashes, but you can open it right back up with no problems. Overall, it's a great app.

OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer is easy to use and does something that a lot of available video editors do not- allows you to superimpose photos over videos and control how much of the video or photo is visible. The full version is only $3.00 and I will likely purchase it, although the free version comes with the masking capability and several free photos and a few free videos for inspiration. It also has a few basic blending modes (more come with the full version). I would love to be able to control the opacity of the masking tool, and an undo button would be a nice addition. Thanks for a fun app that makes it easy for non-experts to get creative!

...and no way I’m the only one. If you have a predilection for incorporating just right amount of randomized outcome in your customized projects then Fused will be the kind of partner-in-art that at its worst will surprise the genius out of you and its best will make you feel like you did it all by yourself and could and should and will do more. It’s a workhorse of an App and along with only one other App, which I realize as I write this is and have to smile is called Fyuse. Both are Apps that may be cooler than current human creativity. You’ll be Ringo, but you’ll alternate between feeling like John & Paul. This why Fused is smarter than you.

I really enjoy experimenting with blending, light and colors this way. the one problem is that no pictures are saved inside OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer , which would be a big help in the future. I take a lot of pics and have trouble deleting.:) not your problem but im sure others feel me on this as well. memory within OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer please.:) thanks.:)
All together, OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer is great for editing photos in terms of lighting, blending and changing the emphasis and really helps out an amateur like me by letting me experiment and figure out what works. I'm addicted.

I went through so many apps just trying to find a app that would let me use the audio from one video and to block out the audio from another while still playing the video over the alternative audio. This is the only app I found that does it and makes it easy to do. Great for making memes😂 thank you so much for making OverlayPhotoAndVideoLayer so simple. Just allowing me to do simple things and the process to do it is simple too. It’s just the all around perfect app.

Now it works after the update and it’s really fun and easy to use. Totally worth every penny.

Dosnt work with my iPhone 6s ios11 still waiting for support to reply to my email I sent 2 days ago. I hope it’s an error on my part or they reply with a solution soon and I will change my rating depending on the outcome
