I have repeatedly tried to contact the developer to cancel my automatic renewal payment which they set you up on ContactsCleaner for the unlocked full version. No response whatsoever. I note in their Terms of Use paragraph 14 that they have a procedure to terminate your account but they do not include the email you’re supposed to send to to terminate (I have a screenshot with date stamp). I would consider that borderline fraudulent if you cannot cancel your account. I understand if you paid for the year and agreed to do so but I do not want to keep being billed yearly for an app I don’t want and desire confirmation that my account has been removed. In a follow up email I asked for an explanation of what I needed to do to terminate the account and make sure that the auto billing does not continue on with no response from ContactsCleaner developer. If the developer wishes to contact me to resolve this issue that will be fantastic otherwise I’m putting a block on ContactsCleaner so that it doesn’t bill me continually year-over-year. The other thing that you consumers need to watch is their agreement and your contacts and your information. After I read their terms I was not very comfortable with allowing them to handle and be in control of my personal and business contacts. This was my main concern for removing ContactsCleaner in the first place. How do we know what ContactsCleaner developer is doing with all of the contact information that’s being uploaded to them?

So in general it sends to do an ok job with most contact merging, but two bugs that I see.

The first is that it doesn't seem to merge notes, but instead basically appends duplicate notes together which makes for one long note with everything in your note repeated again and again...

The second far bigger problem is that when I merge a contact with my name (where I keep notes about me) it -says- that it's merging but when it's complete I don't exist anymore. My contact is completely deleted instead of being merged. Thankfully it keeps a backup so I've been able to recover it, but as it stands I don't trust it anymore and have pretty much abandoned it.

This application does just what it says. Having three email accounts and the contacts that were just in my phone over the years I had a lot to clean up. Cleaner doesn’t compromise your contacts and you can easily see what changes they are asking to make. This has a my recommendation.

ContactsCleaner deleted many of my contacts ads that were not duplicates.

I downloaded ContactsCleaner because I had several hundred duplicate contacts and many emails that saved themselves as contacts without names or emails. When I downloaded ContactsCleaner , I received a text shortly after from a number that wasn’t saved in my phone. When I realized who the sender was, and they have been in my phones for 7 years, I immediately email the support. That was over a week ago with no response. I need to know how to fix it or if I need to reset my phone to a back up and lose the last 10 days or so of business.

At first glance I thought ContactsCleaner solved all my problems! Very cool... very nice... But truthfully (maybe I have not studied it well enough before hitting the “merge the duplicates”, go figure...), it messed me up all (ok, let’s say “plenty”) my contacts! Now I have people who disappeared; numbers mixed up... frankly, even it it were free, I should have kept my dups, and be happy... I wanted to clean it up (i had about 2K contacts, now down to 1,8K) and I screwed it up instead! All and all, the good with the bad, not worth it.

Before this downgraded (but still expensive) newest version, it was easy to merge all duplicate contacts with the press of a button. Now, however, you must go into each duplicate contact individually and merge separately. This removal of the catch-all feature means that ContactsCleaner now affords only a minute convenience. If you have 300+ duplicate contacts, it will take you well over an hour to do what used to take less than 5 minutes. Very unfortunate. Reminds one of the old saying: “don’t fix it if it ain’t broke”. But they went ahead and broke it.

I’m not sure why my iPhone duplicates so many contacts but when it all of a sudden created 65 of the same contact I had to figure out a way to delete them without doing it one at a time. ContactsCleaner saved me many hours of cursing the dog and kicking the cat (Not really the dog and cat part so don’t get excited) but it did save a lot of time.

I had a mess because my iPhone every now and then would duplicate all my contacts again and again and again…. ContactsCleaner restored my sanity by removing ALL dupes. However, some of the functionality like “similar contacts” etc doesn’t come close to being accurate or helpful, so one star off for that.

Doesn't remove duplicates, merges them. So if there is additional info on the duplicate, you won't lose it. Makes me feel very safe about using this. Fast - I just merged and removed 571 duplicates in a matter of perhaps 20-30 seconds!

For some reason I have contacts with 8 or more emails. Even if I specifically select just one contact, it says it has merged the emails, but it hasn’t. Also - it says I have more than 400 email duplicates but will not give me an option to do them all at once. But even if I select them one by one and merge, it fails to remove my email duplicates.
Does a good job at removing duplicates contacts, though.

I used this to merge contacts thinking they will be merged. Instead contacts for flat out deleted, no way to restore them. I went to the back up ContactsCleaner created selected to contact to restore they supposedly were imported, however nothing is ever imported to my phone. It is impossible to restore the contacts that were deleted by ContactsCleaner. I’m livid at how many contacts were deleted by this stupid app. I flat out hate it. I would never recommend ContactsCleaner to my worst enemy.

With an ICloud, address book, gmail, and other personal emails, this really cleaned up my address book and merged duplicate emails and phone numbers. This is a must for any serious phone user

ContactsCleaner keeps reporting many duplicate contacts most days over the past 2 months. Unfortunately, they're the same contacts over and over again. When it does a merge, some contacts are completely eliminated. Others lose the person's name or other information. And the backups don't backup well--they seem to lose most of the contacts that have been eliminated. I deleted ContactsCleaner before it could do any more damage.

I used it to merge about 700 contacts and lost a lot of contacts. Luckily it was backed up and I was able to restore them. Then I tried to merge one at a time. It show the merged contact and below the duplicates that will be deleted. But when I merge they were all deleted. I used it before with out these issues so possibly it’s a glitch or something. Be careful and be sure to backup your contacts before using.

So far it seems to work fine. I’ll wait until I look at the list of people and data in the Contact app to make sure.

If you have a lot of contacts from years of work... great app to merge and clean up duplicates etc. shows you everything before you do it to verify!!! :)

The positive reviews led me to download ContactsCleaner to merge contacts. After you give access to either your personal email or Facebook as well as your personal contact list, it will offer to merge 20 contacts for free, 20? That's nothing. Anyway I decided to proceed given all this accessible I granted them, however I found out I'd have to sign up for $9.99 /year in order to proceed with the 20 "free" contacts merger. What a scam, save your time and privacy and avoid ContactsCleaner at all cost.

Whoa, Nellie! I’m done. Literally 2 minutes in and 147 duplicate contacts have been merged and a multitude of data have been synced! I’m so used to not getting what an “app” professes it does! Thank you for doing exactly what you said the “app” would do!

I discovered ContactsCleaner within 2 mins on my apple store when I got the thought of merging my contacts as it successful merged it within some seconds.... Kudus

Very easy to use. I had about 12,000 duplicates and it had no problem with them Tried another one called Cleaner Pro without any success.

My contacts were duplicating each day. I went from 682 to over 3000 and still going. I researched and found Cleaner. In less than 30 minutes, my contacts are fixed and backed up. Thank you Cleaner!!!

Update is a scam in an attempt to force you to purchase the Pro version. After I updated ContactsCleaner , the Backup icon was replaced with the Merge icon at the bottom of screen. Free version of ContactsCleaner had the ability to backup contacts. The update removes backup icon and if you want to backup up contacts you must purchase Pro version.
I sent an email and they have refused to answer my question about the backup icon.
Terrible customer service.
