Excellent app. If only there was a way to do a refresh of my fleet on demand. I don’t understand why it is not updating. First 3-4 days, it worked great. A large cruise ship is not updating and the last 2 days it has lagged 5-10 hours before updating when everything else around it is updating fine. This evening again it has not updated for almost 6 hours and shows still underway when in fact the ship has been in port almost 3 hours. Too be even more frustrating, it is also not showing any other ships of any kind along a large stretch of the eastern shores of Japan. Makes no sense!

FindShip does not always provide real time updates. For example, it currently displays my friend’s boat 3 days ago and it’s traveling at 4mph, even though it’s in the same spot. I know that the boat isn’t there, based on the updates on Facebook. There are numerous times the update shows about 4-8 hours later, but currently it’s displaying their whereabouts from 3 day’s ago. I just updated FindShip in hopes it would fix the issue, but it’s still showing their status as of 3 days ago. A friend of mine is using another app and it is displaying their correct location and gives real time updates. 👎😭

I like it...when the updates are current. It gives very close to real time positions as well as other details about the vessels you are tracking. I would say it is 5 times better than the alternative: hoping for cell service in order to hear where you vessel is currently located. Two thumbs up!

When I first used FindShip, it was very helpful and timely. Since last year, it only works on my iPad. It won’t even show any maps on my phone. Since my phone is an XR, with the latest updates, I’m pretty sure that’s not the issue.
I have deleted and reloaded it multiple times, in an attempt to get the program back.
I have purchased the premium option for my iPad, in the hopes it will work as I deal with meeting boats in various places for delivery and pickup.
Please revamp it for iPhones.

I very much appreciate being able to follow the vessel when there is hardly any communication for weeks and months at a time. I would give FindShip 5 stars, however, I have noticed there are times that it will not show the update or refresh. For example, I know the vessel I’m tracking left yesterday and it’s still showing it at at port with yesterday’s date, along with other ships around it. It usually refreshes every time I get on, but occasionally this happens.

Used FindShip for a long time on my previous iPhone model (6) upgraded to iPhone XR and app seems incompatible. Basically freezes as soon as you open it, and just shuts off a minute or so after that. Have tried delete/reinstall, updating my IOS, turning WiFi on/off, restarting phone, etc basically everything. Just does not work. Am being forced to use a different app. Would have given it a much better rating if it worked. My family downloaded it on their iPhones (I think both members have iPhone 8? And it works for them)

I am professional mariner and very often in need to locate the vessel outside my onboard AIS receiver range. This application is really amazing ! Just one note - large passenger vessels do not show up ( at least in Persian Gulf ports ) most probably because of security concern and some kind of ‘plug’ outside this wonderful application. Yes, you shall activate premium subscription at the fraction of cost compare with other providers.

Where should I start? I deleted FindShip and then tried to reinstall but app never loads. Prior to delete, vessel I was tracking has been in one port for three weeks and FindShip showed it in another port 300 miles away. Again, the Captain has told me that the vessels AIS system is functioning properly.
It really is fraud by the developer. He either is not smart enough to make FindShip work, or it is like a Nigerian Prince scam to take your money. Who is going to complain about loosing $4.95? Great racket for the quasi developer.

It works well and I love to track ships in the Tangier, Morocco port when I see a large ship and am curious as to its name and destination. Also, a friend is leaving tomorrow for Genoa, Italy via Barcelona and I'll be tracking her travels going and returning to Morocco in two months. I am considering upgrading to the paid version, but the free one works very well, and it's nice to see detailed photos of the vessels.

I have been using FindShip for a long time, then I accidentally deleted FindShip . Ever since I did that, I have not been able to use FindShip , when I download FindShip , the icon will show up but it won’t open. I have even upgraded my phone from a 5 to a 8. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated

I’ve tried about 6 or 7 ship finder apps and this one is by far the best one but, as stated in the title, the quality has slid recently. One downside to FindShip is if FindShip quits working after an update to iOS or app itself the developers are very slow fixing the problem.
Also, the search box is hard to read, needs more contrast with the background.

FindShip stopped working earlier this year and then after a month or two randomly started working again. After it came back up, it stopped providing Classification Society info and date/time stamps on the tracking history. Still a pretty decent app, but customer support is non-existent: sent them several emails asking questions and never heard any response.

Great for tracking your sea shipments. Even shows pilot boats and tugs that meet them and help them moor. Has marine chart option, but fonts are very small to read. Different type ships are in different colors. Would be nice to see sailboats in their own color. Satellite imagery shows great sea floor relief. Easy to identify vessels in the area.

I live on the Pacific Northwest coast and see hundreds of vessels a week. FindShip is perfect to check them out. I can find their size, type, where they are flagged, their destination and many other facts about them. Many descriptions have photos. Tracks craft from small fishing boats to huge cargo and cruise ship.

First downloaded few years ago. It worked better than the AIS on my laptop. Now boats are in the same position for several days. When trying to find our customers along the Mississippi River for time management it get frustrating to say the least. If they can fix the bugs to low more accurate up to the minute that would be great. Then I will purchase the premium

I cannot view boats between Lock 10 and Lock 11. I am a prime member as it shows on my account. I was charged 4.99 automatically. Can you clarify that for me? Thank you. Otherwise everything works fine.

I really liked FindShip at first and would have given it a 5 star but that’s because it worked. After several attempts of deleting and re down loading it still isn’t working properly.

It says zoom to find ships but it won’t zoom or allow you to search by name or use the icons.

Time to delete

I downloaded FindShip uninstalled it and reinstalled it again but it’s freezing up when I try typing the name nothing happens when I even try zooming in? What’s happening

I love FindShip helps me check to see if my boyfriend is safe while he’s out working on boat out of state. Only problem is it would often have some glitches for example it would show a few days old dated or not constantly up to date on those ships and whereabouts are. It would be nice to have sea forecast in it too.

Downloaded, tried. Launch the appLICATION. A nearly blank screen with icons along the right side appears. Icons are inoperative.
“Zoom in map to see vessels” is displayed in the upper left corner. I can’t zoom in, as there is NO map displayed.

I deleted, downloaded again. Same result. The price is way too high. It’s “free” but cost my time and effort.
There needs to be a negative star rating. A “-5 black holes” is the rating which I prefer to give.
