PDF Cabinet Reviews

You’re on your own with this one if you should have any questions or want to backup files inside PDFCabinet. I’ve written them several times requesting info on how to backup the files stored in PDFCabinet . I had a meltdown pneumonia on my first iPad and did a factory restore thinking my files safe in iTunes backup. Wrong. Should have learned then. I recently purchased a new iPad and again requested info on how to migrate PDFCabinet and files (and I have several years of folders and files). Completed their “app support” request and again, no response. Again I’m on my own. It’s a great app otherwise and fit my modest needs. I’m even willing to pay for this type of program app. But now I’m looking for a new app to read, store and annotate PDFs because I can’t trust this one to keep my files safe and available. Fool me twice...

Two days ago I would have rated it 5. Yesterday PDF Cabinet started failing to load. Turning iPad off and back on will sometimes bring it back up. I have PDFCabinet on two devices and the same problem on both devices.

The sync guide and the cloud services tutorial video both show functionality that is not in PDFCabinet . There is no cloud button at the top left of a folder. There is no sync button as shown in the Sync guide. The folders/categories cannot be transferred via iTunes to a PC.

Find another app if you want to be able to backup your files.

I have been using PDFCabinet for several years and over the last few months I notice the text disappears if I leave PDFCabinet open and go to another app. When I return the pages are blank and need to go to the library to open the document again. Needs some resolution in an update. Will be sad to find another replacement app.

PDFCabinet is alright for what it does, but it’s in serious need of an update. Constant freezing doing the most basic of tasks, and crashing when trying to export are starting to make this a really cumbersome app to use.

Been using PDFCabinet for years and it was the first time it lost 200 documents/PDF I had I was going to get one of my cases and they were all gone

I love your app, but sometimes I can not open it and it seems that l don’t have any access to the information l worked on and it’s pretty scary.

I really love PDFCabinet for note taking and highlighting my college documents. I love how easily and fun can someone change from highlighter to pen or even the eraser. But i would be more happy using PDFCabinet if there could be a option of palm rejection for better use of the apple pencil.
Please, consider this suggestion for better use of PDFCabinet . I think many of us college students would appreciate it.

When emails include an attachment, I would love to be able to save in in pdf in Cabinet. Please consider this!

I am a student and don’t have extra money to spend on in app purchases so thank you to the team behind PDF Cabinet for keeping it free and updated.

The text box circle doesn’t work and seems a bit redundant since the feature exists under the notes circle. Also it would be nice to be able to change the size of the highlighter and move it about instead of only moving in a straight line.

Can you please fix the problem of this application, it shuts down immediately every time i try to see the highlighted lines in the book. This is my favorite app to read so please take care of it and keep it working perfectly.

Just got introduced to PDFCabinet this year in September and absolutely love what it has to offer as an educator!!

I have one question or suggestion...is there a way to swipe between different documents without going back to the original library? I grade my students digital papers in PDFCabinet but seems as if I have to go back to the original folder I made to store the document before going to the next student.....is there an easier way?

PDFCabinet is great. I can easily organize, read, and annotate my PDFs. That’s all I needed and all I wanted. The interface is simple and uncluttered, and performance is great on my iPad Air M2.

Perhaps the best part of PDFCabinet is that it doesn’t require some stupid subscription like all the other PDF apps out there. I just wish I could pay the dev somehow :)

If the author is looking for something to add to make PDFCabinet even better, adding native support for SMB connections to home file servers would be awesome. Thanks!

Suggestion: Better Apple Pencil support. When using Apple Pencil to make notes, it's a little annoying to have to hold and note. It's better to freely write with pencil and navigate with fingers.

Love PDFCabinet. I’ve used it for years and it does everything you could want.

I absolutely LOVE this application. I use a lot of digital bead patterns and it has been my go-to application for these and other patterns as well! It’s simple design makes it uncomplicated for crafters and recipe saving as well.

My only suggestion is MORE! I would like it to work on my apple laptop and desktop as well.

Well, this was always my go to PDF reader on iPad. And even though it is not updated with new features for years, it is still miles ahead of many similar apps in terms of UX. And now suddenly it’s on iPhone! I do hope they bring back the iCloud sync functionality though.

I waited almost a year to write this review-and let me tell you. PDFCabinet is exactly what it says it is. Easy to use. Simple. Clean. Basic, as in a good basic-has everything you need *if you are a fan, and hoarder of PDF documents, like me. * You can pretty much just start using PDFCabinet, without having to watch a bunch of tutorials to figure out how to use it. And if there is something your not sure about, it includes a couple of booklets, in PDFCabinet filing system itself that you can look in. The information is separated by subject matter, ( Each little booklet is just a few pages) and explained mostly with pictures, arrows, and one or two short sentences. That’s it. I had close to 700 documents on it once, and it crashed on me for the first time ever, while I was downloading a PDF from the web. No big deal- I cleaned it out, deleting down to roughly 300 documents-not one single problem since. If PDFCabinet can hold 700, of *my* documents , before it gets “full”-that really says a lot about PDFCabinet! In fact, PDFCabinet, is absolutely hands down, the best filing/organizing app for PDF’s I have ever used. With that being said, you cannot create a PDF, edit, or merge PDF’s. PDFCabinet is for organizing, and annotating PDF documents. And it does it well.

Dear Developers-I have just one question for you. I didn’t see this in the booklets(did I miss it?!) , and I did this once, super late at night by accident, but now I can’t remember how I did it: Highlighting one word, and make it automatically highlight that one word, in the text throughout the entire document. Can ya help me out?😊
