This is an absolutely useless application. Having been using a web-based version for almost a year, I hoped to alleviate the usage by installing a mobile variant. Alas, only the most simplistic words were available for search, which has greatly disappointed me. 26$ for an extended version is a huge overkill. Overrated

I get that CambridgeEnglishDictionary should be profitable in some shape or form, but to prevent the general usage of CambridgeEnglishDictionary without paying $10+ USD just sounds uninviting, especially since the browser version of the Cambridge dictionary is free to use.

I’d understand if CambridgeEnglishDictionary pushes for purchase of the dictionary during offline mode, but the charge during online mode just seems counterintuitive.

The rating I’m giving to CambridgeEnglishDictionary isn’t based on its functionality or interface. Rather, it’s a rating for the poor business model.

But ones I noticed that they would charge me money 💴 to use CambridgeEnglishDictionary then I got rid of CambridgeEnglishDictionary and just went to their website instead and created a shortcut to my home screen of my cell phone so I wouldn’t be charged anything because half of these apps now a days treat everyone like they are rich in cash 💷 and they could care less if your a low income person 🤬

Once you open CambridgeEnglishDictionary , it requires you to purchase in order to access it. It should have had the price and the fact that you must purchase it.

Huge disappointment, since the web version is totally accessible for searching and exploring all kind of words and some good features.I was expecting to experience the same thing in CambridgeEnglishDictionary , i even created my own words list on the web version hopping to Synchronizing it via the application but none of these were available unless you buy the whole version which the price of it is a bit exaggerated. I think I’m gonna stick with the web version until i find another alternative.

Spending over $20 for a dictionary app compared to having free access to online dictionaries or even other dictionary apps just doesn’t make sense.

That being said, I think you guys would make way more money charging $5 once for everything than to charge over $20 for your current dictionary (assuming we have to pay each time you update the dictionary).

You want more people to buy, not just like 3 people. Remember that they can just go to your website and use it for free.

The alternative would be to make a paid app for like less than $5 and not charge for anything else.

CambridgeEnglishDictionary is fake ... when I did download it I think that will be like the website but unfortunately not. When you try to search for a word, you can’t access to its definition and to the audio so you can listen it in the US or UK accents , you have to pay for it. Really disappointing. I recommend “ Merriam Webster” app to anyone can’t afford CambridgeEnglishDictionary.

Too often I’ve searched this lame dictionary for words that are not available. Yet, you can find those words in the free Mirriam-Webster App. One would have thought that this option would have been exceptional. Unfortunately, it’s the total opposite! Please add words!

I have used this dictionary for years and recommended it to everyone but today I sought the definition of ‘catechetical’ and apparently this word is not in this dictionary? because I asked for an English definition and none! So I tried Arabic to English, nope, German to English, nope; Italian to English, nope; Spanish to English, nope; I give up!

CambridgeEnglishDictionary takes seven seconds on my iPhone 7 to start.

Please optimise CambridgeEnglishDictionary to start faster.

I’m waiting for new version.

I use app and web at the same time. If these two are synchronized, it’s much convenient to me.

CambridgeEnglishDictionary need to add dark mode support and work more on the user interface to make modern and more intuitive

Don’t know about why CambridgeEnglishDictionary has such low ratings so far, it is a great app in my experience. I don’t think the price was not fair at any sense, for its contents it provided definitely worth every penny. And it was not even a subscription price! You will see its great value after you have a habit of comparing definition from more than one dictionary.

The categories of words are amazing.
This dictionary is completely different from other kinds of dictionaries.

Cambridge Dictionary is one of the best dictionaries that I've ever owned to get better knowledge of English! Especially with the verbs, adjectives and nouns are very cool to study! I also love on how they allow us to use British and American accents! Thank you very much for teaching me!

This is the only free English Dictionary App as I know. I use Longman dictionary’s paper version at first, but I have to purchase CambridgeEnglishDictionary version again. That’s too bad. Through an essay of comparing 5 dictionaries that Cambridge Dictionary App is the only one for free.

Please use a bolder font for definition with blue ink!!!
2- use italic font with black ink
3- let the users choose a different color for background
pay attention please! The fonts are very important they should be attractive to read!!!

Could not understand those who gave this 1 star and whining , just because it needed to be paid to fully accessible. Look at Meriam Webster, Oxford dictionary, they all did the same.
This is the best dictionary by far, coming from who used a number of ios dictionary (Meriam, Oxford...etc you name it). Worth every penny.
Hope the devs keep updating to make it bug-free app.
