Cambridge English Dictionary Avis

Vraiment bien ce dictionnaire, avec la prononciation, des exemples d’utilisation du mot, des synonymes, la liste des verbes irréguliers, la possibilité de se créer des flashcards ...j’adore 😍 et à tous ceux qui trouvent que 14€ c’est cher, sachez qu’un dictionnaire papier vaut au moins le double (sans mise à jour possible)...
Juste une petite fonctionnalité de plus : la possibilité d’accéder au sens du verbe irrégulier en cliquant dessus, ça serait parfait 👍

Téléchargement inutile, quand on s'aperçoit que le moindre mot recherché nécessite la version "advanced" payante ... alors que le site internet est entièrement gratuit !
L'application vaut probablement ses 14€, mais la présenter comme une application gratuite n'est pas honnête ...

The 1-star rating and their comments aren't fair. The content that includes in the free app is meant to give examples of what we would get for the paid content via In-app purchase. This way of giving sample taste is due to the limited way the App Store works, not the fault or dishonesty of the developer. The paid content is well worth it, we get all the features in the free demo for the full content. If you don't like these features or some feature you want is not available, sorry for you but you can't say the app is null.

The single, main problem is that the app takes a long time to start, a few seconds on iPhone XS can surely be improved. This a-few-second delay really breaks the reading flow and creates a mental obstacle whenever we want to use it. UX should be double-checked and improved. With all the improvements to app startup time that Apple claimed with recent versions of iOS, this app seems taking zero benefit.

Et oui, 14€ pour avoir sa définition alors que c’est annoncé gratuit... allons voir ailleurs !

On peux rien faire si on paye pas 14 € ! Et il considèrent ca appli gratuite !

Why is the app not working any more under iOS? Why is the developer not updating it?

One feels cheated out of one’s money!

People gave one star complaining it’s not free. Such complain is not targeting the app itself but the way of marketing. Subjectively, the level of explaining word is extraordinary, as well as the synonyms.
I would give 5 stars.

But meanwhile, I wish the developer can add the function of personal word list.

I have been using this dictionary for several months and it is really worth the price. It is a very precious every day help. Thank you Cambridge team

The dictionary is good . But to learn words it would be better to be able to create my own word list. Which is impossible in this application : every word goes in the favorite section . But we can’t create our own list in the favorite section

Love the online version and the Cambridge dictionary is great, but this feature is wasting everyone’s time.

Application inutile car à la moindre recherche, nous sommes invités à payer 13,99€ pour voir notre définition. Alors que le site internet est complément gratuit, c’est à n’y rien comprendre. Dommage.
