Every time this game is played, ads interrupt gameplay; turn on airplane mode to avoid this or bear through it. Upgrades take time and more time to apply as level progression goes on; I have waited up to 10minutes for upgrades to be applied and players cannot use upgrades until the time elapses. Players can still play as upgrades are waiting on the time to pass. All in all, I feel this game is a big advertising ploy rather than fun because of all the interruptions and delays in gameplay and use of in-game progressions. To me, this is a major deterrent to building desire to play this game more.

It’s a pretty enough game. But my ship stays right beneath my finger. So I keep getting blown up by things I can’t see because my finger is in the way.

If you visit the preferences you’ll find an option for the finger position to be offset. The game should give you the choice from the outset. But honestly it still seems kind of clunky. Sometimes the ship won’t go to the edge where it needs to go, because your finger hits the edge… leaving your ship in the middle of danger. Oh well

This game is very fun. UNTIL you get to level 5. Level 5 is there in the chance that you progressed that far in the game without spending money. I don’t know what you need to beat level 5. I’m guessing maxed out everything. This level is so much harder than previous levels it isn’t even funny. It’s not even fun hard. Just frustrating. You should be able to slowly build up your ship as you go through the game. Not hit a brick wall at level 5.

I’ve played this game on numerous platforms and was surprised to find it started as a mobile game. They do everything they can to try to get you to buy “stars”, which are the in-game currency used to upgrade weapons. Stars are used on the console releases, too, but there are two big differences on the iOS version. First, you only earn about 1/3 of the stars per level on iOS versus console. Secondly, after each weapon upgrade, they either force you to wait 10 minutes for the upgrade to apply or you can speed it up by paying with more stars. Definitely feels like pay-to-win. Otherwise, it’s a fun game and controls pretty well on iOS. Only real complaint gameplay wise is that it feels a hair slow to track movements. Overall, I’d still probably give it a mild recommendation.

To the people complaining about the freemium model. Developers have to make a living, too. Yes, I missed the days where you paid one price and had access to the whole game. But, you make the choice. Enjoy it for what you want to, and drop it after. The developers will get the message. Nice graphics and a fun game. Have to have a lot of patience if you don't want to pay. But it is want it is. I enjoyed it while it lasted.

I love this game skyforce 2014 and reloaded. I’ve been playing them both from release on my iPad but I played reloaded more due to the ship perks. My double star purchase went to reloaded which was dumb first off because the ads and the double time I played yet the one time I replied to support they changed the email and sent it back when I said that’s fake,they tried to remove it from my account.

This game reminds me of the simple and fun games of my childhood, all while keeping me entertained with new age graphics and levels. Not easy but challenging and fun. I would definitely give this game a try if you seek hours of entertainment and skill building fun. Only reason I don’t give it five stars is because it is tough to use your finger and move fast at times other than that... all day fun for days...

Pretty good, prefer reloaded. Couple of complaints the tournament every weekend shouldn’t be restricted to five friends if it’s a global tournament your playing against the world why the five friends? Second your main gun tops out at 3, but your wing cannon’s go to 5 why? Third your cards shouldn’t be throwing out duplicates of the same card over and over just don’t have it appear or have it be a limited ship upgrade card like sky force reloaded. Other than that it’s ok. I guess the green ship you started with is one of those card’s that rarely appears getting tired of this paper red ship.

This game is almost perfect. The only thing I see wrong is that before each level you have the opportunity to purchase bombs, laser and shield which is good but if you don't use them in that level you lose them. I believe whatever you don't use should be carried over to all levels until they have been used up where at that point in time you would purchase more but i don't believe people earn stars to lose them or even waste them. Please fix this and fix also in sky force reloaded. Thanks

I don’t think it gets much better than this for a shoot em up ! It’s not a bullet hell shooter but it is beautiful to look at,has a great soundtrack and the mechanics are simple (which is a plus to me). Also, it has high replay ability due to hardness levels and trying to get the achievements for each hardness.

This game is so worth the time for me to stop and write a review - something I haven't done for SkyForce2014 Store in a long time. The game is great, graphics are fun, and it'll keep me busy for a long time. I got the double star upgrade; it encourages me to play more and helps me upgrade quicker. I was happy to send a little support to the developers! This game reminds me a lot of Space Deadbeef! Fun stuff.

This game is too much fun! You can play through levels multiple times and as you win challenges, you unlock harder ones! You can also upgrade your ship which looks very nice and level up your cannons and add new features. The game play is very smooth and I honestly 100% love this game and see no flaws at all. Controls are great and has different settings to your liking.
The adds can be removed and quite honestly the adds don't even bother me. They are not even close to annoying like some other app games that cram adds down your throat. It's a pleasant game play experience, minimum adds, in game purchases that you honestly don't even need. Unless you want to progress quicker but honestly progression In this game is a nice pace and over all a fun HIGHLY ADDICTING GAME with very good challenges.
Download this game everyone...I promise you you'll enjoy the heck out of it. Blast everything to bits!

I have played quite a few jet shooters before, and they were pretty boring, but this is just amazing. I will start playing and then not want to stop because its just the perfect balance of easy and hard. The only thing that could be changed is that it takes too long to recharge the energy so I spend stars and can’t upgrade. Other than that its all great.

One of the only few games that I’ve ever liked playing in the arcade scroll shooter genre. It’s very simple yet very challenging and it allows for going back to lower levels to fully accomplish the missions. Not a lot of bells and whistles when it comes down to purchasing items which I appreciated very much. One time purchase for most items including disabling ads permanently for a very low price ($2) compared to other games with very expensive prices. This games has my seal of approval and would definitely and highly recommend it to anyone who loves this type of games 👍👍👍👍👍😊

It's a lot like ReLoaded but apparently it's based on an earlier version that has had an anniversary re-release with improvements.
That's pretty sweet, but if it had the cards, planes, pilots and all the other bells n whistles of ReLoaded; yet was still this version of this game otherwise that would be amazing! And if the Developers made a hybrid including all of both games (+ maybe some bonus levels or a DLC).

THEN: "I Would Actually Pay For That!"

I was looking for a game similar to 1941 because I used to play that when I was little lad and was hoping to play something to just pass the time ! Boy was I blown away. This game has me thinking about it all day sometimes. I play whenever I have just a little bit of time during my busy schedule and it’s absolutely perfect! Fun, exciting, engaging, and intense!! 5 stars no problem! Looking forward to beating this and trying the new “Reloaded” version. Cheers!

The good: A classic shooter, challenging and well-executed. Countless hours of fun, if shooters are your thing. I highly recommend the "no ads" and "star doubler" in-game-purchases, but you don't need to spend real money to experience the full game. Great slow/pause controls let you interrupt gameplay without dying.

The bad: Your ship and weapons are always basically the same. A little variety/choice would do wonders for replay value. (They saved this feature for the sequel, "Sky Force Reloaded".)

Very addictive, but buyer beware. I brought several of the extra, like double stars and a couple other upgrades. Stopped playing because I didn't have an apple device for a few months. Got a new apple device downloaded the game and hit restore, not only did my plane not have any of the upgrades but none of my purchases were there. I wrote tech support and still haven't gotten anything. When I first started playing I hadn't stopped playing it since I down loaded it. It takes a minute to get enough fire power to really love it.

I downloaded this game a few years ago and kinda just played it a bit. Got back into it a couple of weeks ago and wow it’s really a quality game through and through. From the graphics to the user interface is a much more intuitive experience than playing say a Raiden II port. It takes a while to level up but you really feel like it’s worth the effort to do it. The replay value is high especially with finding the hidden cards and hidden levels. Also the sound and graphics are some of the best I’ve seen on the iPhone. 10/10

Smooth controls and beautiful graphics. The fights are intense. Plenty of lives, and they regenerate really quickly; meaning theres not really a waiting mechanic like in most free games. The ads are so few and far between that you'll forget they're even there. All in all, it feels like I should be paying for it, but somehow this is free. Download and see for yourself.
