This is your typical base building, train troops, gather resources and attack/defend. The game is executed pretty decently compared to others in this genre. Shielding is a bit lame, as they stack in this game, but if you want to stay pera-shielded, you have to time them properly; it's more of a pain.
It's pretty simple to learn and not overly complicated.
The major downside to this game is that it is Pay-To-Win (PTW). Don't even expect to play this for more than a month unless you are prepared to pay or have strong friends already in the game. This game is catered to those that spend hundreds/thousands of dollars. Yes, I did say thousands. It is a money pit and if you want to compete, you have to spend. If your expendable cash is low, don't play this game.
This game could be improved by getting away from the PTW style or put brackets in the game that prevents someone who is 10x your size from being able to wipe you out completely.

I’ve played the game for about 4 years. The game was fun at first but you are going to have to spend big bucks in order for you to place in the events that give you the game’s best stuff that you need in order to compete or just stay playing the game or protect what your money buys you in the packs they offer in-game. Ember customer service is horrible. They never get back to you and they never really have a solution for you when they finally get back to you, if they get back to you at all that is. Also they can take your account from you for any reason they want. I spent well over $10,000 and spent countless amounts of hours over the 4 years playing Empire Z and they locked me out of my account and won’t give me a reason as to why and ember won’t answer the 20-30 emails I have sent them since the lockout happened. SAVE YOUR MONEY & TIME!!! DO NOT DOWNLOAD or SUPPORT THIS GAME!!!

Not sure why people are complaining about the game being ptw. I have been playing for a while now and have a decent account and have only spent 20 bucks which I wish I could get back. I know plenty of people who haven’t spent a dime and are big players. I think the problem lies that people wish to be one of the biggest players in the game in a month. This game has been out for years how do you expect to play with people in the 100 billions?

What ever you do do not spend any money on this game!!!!!
I have played the game from the start and at first it was a fun game to play but after playing for so long I have come to realize that ember is the worst game maker ever. They have constantly went down hill since they were sued by other game makers for stealing ideas. They have favorites and they give them unfair advantages and the ones that complain about it are treated very unfairly. For example they just finished a real big event on the Memorial Day weekend that included a 24 hr power event which gave an epic leader and had an OPS event that gave another epic leader all great but in Region 29 and 31 you were not able to sign on to the game for the final 23 hours of the event but the other 3 regions could. So they in essence gave regions 28 and 30 the advantage of not having to compete against the other 2 regions and they won all the gifts.
If you do play this game DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON IN GAME PURCHASES if you are not one of their chosen few you will be discriminated against

EMBER IS THE WORST GAME MAKERS EVER!!!!!!!

Most games that you build and wait for hours have several things pushing you to buy in order to build faster. Sure the game is similar but you can earn ways to speed up times with out buying, everything is earnable, nothing is a store exclusive. Another thing is the players, I have yet to meet a toxic player in any of the servers I have played, everyone is willing to lend a hand if you ask.

It's the people that keep me coming back. We are like family. The game is fun and I have been lucky with the people I have met. You don't have to spend a lot of money if you join an alliance that is all about hitting IC's. If you focus on core power; buildings and research no matter who hits you they can't take that away. If you immediately build troops they will die:)

It’s pretty fun. The adds hype this up way too much though and only specific types of people enjoy this game. New stuff has been added as well to give you more to do and more to research in order to create.

I have an account that seems to be corrupted. I went on a raid, apparently I unlocked leaders and now since there's no skip option, I HAVE to keep going to the train option in genetics lab, then I HAVE to click open packs and that's when the problem occurs. I get the spinning blue cross hair and there's no end to it and nothing I can do. Please help, I love this game and my profile matters a lot to me.

It’s fun, you get to meet people around the world run alliances and war with others. I personally love most of the community within it. Expect to not get into bigger alliance but 9 times out of 10 expect them to be nice people still. Been playing for about 4-5 years and I still love it.

Played this game for over two years and it is on a steady decline. If you haven’t been playing for a long time, spending tons and have multiple accounts, it is not worth your time. Very grind intensive. Players have numerous accounts through app stores like google play. Developer is not engaged and does not respond. In app purchases are outrageously priced compared to other games. Content and events never change, just recycling of the same old stuff. Everyone amasses has power and leaders and doesn’t do anything anymore.

• If you have a job and live in the real world, THIS NOT THE GAME FOR YOU.

• Stay-at-home people create mega-groups and will destroy everything you’ve built.

•••I JOINED GROUP FOR HELP: the woman leader “Queenie”(?) expected everyone to go online EVERY DAY at a specific time for roll call (NO EXCEPTIONS) or get robbed by the group.
•••You’ll have to join a group to play long enough to create fun stuff; you can go solo for a bit, but the mega-groups have scouts that will find you, let you build up resources, then steal them.

• Devs don’t respond to emails.
• Why would they?
• Devs make money from the home bound people spending their monthly checks or mom & dad’s allowance on game items.
• GREAT “arrangement” that has been going on for years now.

• You can get a few weeks/months of fun before you’re first mega-group hit.
• Dev’s creative response should be interesting.

They are constantly are letting the game crash during events. Provide poor compensation given the fact you lose all your troops from getting attacked when the game randomly comes back online. Requests to have your troops and items list due to their game failures are ignored. Currently we had a big weekend event that didn’t happen because of some error and only a couple of players are able to score now.

I played this game almost 2 years ago. Anyone readying this don’t get me wrong this is a great game BUT I would absolutely love to start this game all over from day one with everyone else. I brave the money now to drop on items/packs but won’t because everyone is so far above me now that I came back. It’s truly no fun. Please open new servers for the new/old players that want a fresh/fresher start to the game. If I can restart from the beginning with everyone else I would easily drop $200 on the first week.

The game is great for anyone that likes strategy, statistics, and using your wits. With that being said the “hero icon” and the “backwards” button are layered on top of each other so it pulls up the hero page about 3-5 times before it will finally go back to the regular dashboard. Very annoying and off putting for beginning players.

I've been playing for over 3yrs. It use to be fun when you can attack ppl. Now the game has gotten so defensive you need at least 100 ppl with the best leaders to make a tiny dent. That's if you can even attack without getting kicked off the server after each attack. The game is so slow and laggy now that during special events you'll have to log back in every time you do anything like training or attacking.

Lower numbers of regions, higher number of players, with the same narrow amount of ic tiles. Game lags so hard, I can hardly play, about half the time. Makes it not even fun, esp considering the $1000’s of dollars ive spent. Get it together and have at least a small amount of respect for your customer base. Add regions so its not quite as crowded, add ic tiles, or whatever you need to do to stop this laaaaaaaag. Id recommend apple remove you from app store if its not fixed soon. Its been going on way to long

After playing this game for 5 years and putting thousand of dollars into it I logged on one day and account gone. No explanation no warning just gone. Later found out they accused my account of being a bot or something like that. I had one account was hitting IC and transferring my own rad just a hour before they took my account. I would suggest not to download anything by ember and if you do don’t spend any money on game. One day you may try to log on and your investment will be gone.

Been playing the game for years and everything used to be fine. Used to be that you’d get almost immediate responses, and always get your problem fixed within 24 hours. It’s been 5 months and they’re refusing to even acknowledge my help requests. I’ve reached out multiple times across multiple different avenues and not a single response. It feels like they’re actively ignoring me at this point

I have a clan in clash of clans. I can not get in their realm. With the amount of money me and my friends spent on clash of clans, you would think that being in a realm would be easy. But no. Don’t expect to play with your cross country friends (Canada lol, 30 miles from me). Stick to clash of clans, or find a similar alternative game where you and your friends can play. EmpireZ has lost a lot of money from me, and I’m sure countless others. Was hopeful. Now disappointed.

I’ve spent too much money on this game to quit, no matter how many times I’ve been zeroed out I continue no matter what. You should put advance speed ups packs for sale like you did with normal speed ups
