Stop Asking for More Access

I use to app to track my glucose levels, and have overall been satisfied except for the continuing requests to add more information - meals, fitness, etc. With the most recent update, every time I open BlueStarDiabetes , which is every day, sometimes multiple times a day, before I can do anything, BlueStarDiabetes asks me to turn on notifications and to allow it to have full access to my health app. I am not interested in doing those things, and I should be able to use BlueStarDiabetes without having to tell you that multiple times a day. Please roll back these constant requests, or I will be unwilling to use BlueStarDiabetes going forward and I will ask my doctor to switch me to a different glucose monitor.

Member ID

Where do I get the member ID when registering through Humana?

Food log recent does not work

Using recent foods when logging meals causes app to crash. This has been consistently happening for a year.

App is trash

Great idea but it won’t sync to any devices. Every sync attempt ends in a “Bluetooth error” notification. This is funny since none of my other Bluetooth-reliant apps have any trouble whatsoever.

No captioning

Truthfully I’ve barely had a chance to use BlueStarDiabetes . But the low rating is due to lack of accessibility for people with disabilities. There is no captioning of the videos.

Also, BlueStarDiabetes kept crashing when I tried to sign up. Finally succeeded by clicking on support in App Store which led to website and was able to register there. Then able to log into BlueStarDiabetes . Very poor process.

Cant use without logging in

No way to assess whether this would be a good app for me because the FIRST thing you have to do it Sign UP for something.
Why cant a person simply open BlueStarDiabetes -look around -see if it will work -before you have to do all the “create and account” stuff. There are so many apps out there that I have an account with JUST because I wanted to see if it would work for me…and I NEVER go back … but those accounts are still out there…
I’m tired of having everything under covers until you give up your identity -so for me -I will never know if this is a great app or it doesn’t fit.
Thanks anyway

Useless

Glucometer will not sync, therefore app is useless to me.

Recording Insulin

Since the update it has been hard to use I have not been able to log both short term and long term insulin doses when I get up in the morning when both doses need to be recorded

App is ok, pop up notifications are unnecessary and annoying

I don’t need notifications from BlueStarDiabetes . Asking me to turn them on every time I open BlueStarDiabetes is HIGHLY annoying. A blood sugar tracking app should have no need for my location data, stop asking.

Format changes

I don’t like the new format change. Used to be able to see the whole week, now only by day. Trend charting is good but having that quick snap shot of the week is gone. Two thumbs down.

Crashes

Crashes all the time. Needs to be fixed otherwise it would be great

Good app

Good for record keeping

Cala

I really enjoy BlueStarDiabetes

Love it but keeps crashing

I love BlueStarDiabetes but haven’t been able to use it for days because it crashes as soon as I open it.

Edit: I uninstalled and reinstalled BlueStarDiabetes per customer service instructions and now it works fine:)

Great diabetes tool

I really like BlueStarDiabetes. As a doctor with diabetes BlueStarDiabetes provides timely feedback, education and coaching to ensure compliance. The color coding of the blood sugars readings give instant feedback on glycemic control. I highly recommend it for my family, friends and patients.

My Blood Glucose has improved thanks to BlueStar.

Before my use of Blue Star I could not seem to get my glucose level under control. With a change in Meds and the use of BlueStar my glucose level has diminished. The benefits of using Blue Star is that I get immediate feedback whether my glucose level is in target, high or low. I am given an explanation for the rational behind that glucose level. At times I have eaten too much carbs resulting in a high glucose level. Other times I may have exercised too long which caused my glucose to go too low. The quick response is the thing I like most about BlueStar. Right after getting a glucose test result; thru BlueStar I also get feedback on the possible causes of that level. Furthermore when my glucose is in target I get a statement that rewards me for the great outcome. I am finally getting my glucose level in target and the thing I like best is that I now understand my role in controlling my glucose levels.

Excellent blood sugar tracking tool

Blue Star really helps me to keep by BS in check. Easy to use. I can send reports straight to my doctor. It would be great if it would interact with the LiseIt app I use to track my foods. The food tracking portion of BlueStarDiabetes is not easy to use.

Diabetes Support

It’s very helpful to have the open dialogue with health professionals at the tip of your fingers 😃

Saved My Life

BlueStar has literally saved my life. It keeps me accountable for my blood sugar levels, weight, blood pressure and tracking my food. I started using BlueStarDiabetes in February. Six months later, my A1c went from 8.4 to 6.8. And I lost almost 30 lbs. I enjoy the most encouraging messages after an entry. Even if you have been bad, it still gives positive feedback. I paired BlueStarDiabetes with the FreeStyle Libre Glucose Sensor. It so easy to take your blood sugar and immediately put it in the BlueStar app. Thank you so much for providing this service.

Love

I just love BlueStarDiabetes. It’s been a great help and has helped me loose weight too ! Hands down !!

The best app to help you with diabetes

I loved that I can plan ahead my meals counting carbs and keep record of everything!!!!

Tracking

I’ve just recently added short term acting insulin to my diabetes regime it was simple and real easy to add the info into BlueStarDiabetes and since I use a sliding scale it showed me exactly what to do and when to do it it really does help me track and be more aware of my issues and challenges with diabetes thank you

Helped a tech guy lower his numbers

BlueStarDiabetes was what was needed to keep my interest in lowering my blood sugars and A1C numbers. I have gone from an A1C of 16.3 a year ago to a 6.1. Bet you didn’t know that number could be so high!
BlueStarDiabetes keeps all my medical information with me all the time. Who doesn’t have their phone with them.

Good App

I have been using BlueStar for several years now. I find that is very useful. However, in the last week I have a problem. If I try to open BlueStarDiabetes from my password manager all I get is the first page and nothing else. I must get BlueStarDiabetes and use it indenpent of the password manager. It is small and I DO NOT LIKE IT! Other than that it is v dry good.

Best Diabetes App Available

Fantastic user experience with a clean fun and helpful interface. BlueStarDiabetes has helped me lower my A1C from 10.5 to 6.9 in three months! The only negatives are that it is not available to the general public without going through your insurance company and it is a one way data vacuum meaning it accepts data from Apple Health, but it doesn’t share the data you enter back with Apple Health essentially locking your own data away within their app.

Jaylen

BlueStar is a helpful app that helps me manage my diabetes everyday so that I could stay healthy.
