Crappie service

I have been a long time tribune customer ever since living here at this address and all of these last two years I have had nothing but the most rotten experience ever just about every single day I have to call and complain that I didn’t get my paper I have my payment taken out every month by E pay well as of this Wednesday I am all done no more I am tired of doing nothing but complain about this carrier and nobody and I mean nobody listens to me I am not going to put with it anymore I have a paper tube and he threw it every where I had gotten wet papers and lots of missed ones too and too many to count your customer service reps they don’t care about anything either so I am done with this and if I ever am asked if I would like to get the paper my response is NO so that’s it for me I am done...... 😡😡😡😡😡😡

no e-edition

My favorite feature of the previous app was the “e-edition” feature. In fact, it was the ONLY part of SouthBendTribune I used. With the e-edition I had the same experience of reading my daily local paper plus the ability to change type size and increase lighting. I eliminated the frequent frustration of late morning papers. Very, very disappointed in both the change and the lack of warning regarding the change. There is value in reading the paper cover-to-cover and in the details which can be provided in articles that length. If you want the mobile version to be easier for phone reading, fine, but keep the ability to CHOOSE the e-edition.

Terrible App

I’ve never had an app be less helpful than this one. Don’t bother subscribing, because you can’t link that subscription here. So once you’ve read a few stories, it will no longer be useable. And of course it’s the newspaper industry, so there wouldn’t be anyone to help or even suggest something doesn’t work right, and they aren’t really focused on trying to keep customers happy. I’d work to find another source if you’re looking for news.

By

Much needed improvement

I am glad to see that a much needed improvement has finally happened

By

Page by page print version?

Where is the page by page of the paper version?
Am very tired of USA Today, NYT and Fox News format.
When I do not have the paper paper in my hands I want to read it the same way just like. Chicago Tribune.
Can it be that difficult to offer that version?
Just say’n….

Satisfied customer

The Tribune brings relevant local stories , good updates on national news and keeps us in the know with sports and weather -

By

Variety

Covers most everything

By

Revised app

Please put the old e-edition back up. This version does not suit our needs. With delivery of actual newspaper being inconsistent the e-edition was nice. We’ve been subscribers of the South Bend tribune for close to 40 and if things don’t improve will probably have to cancel our subscription. Thank you Roger McKinney Note: our star rating would be no stars

South Bend Tribune

Local reliable and independently reporting news paper from the Midwest. I try to check it out every day.

By

Worst app ever

Are you trying to drive subscribers away? We have a subscription, SouthBendTribune says we are signed in but content is restricted. And the paper arrived before articles are posted on SouthBendTribune . And so many articles from the paper don’t appear on SouthBendTribune . What the *******? Get serious before you have no subscribers.

Good local paper

Covers area news, sports, and human interest and well as national and world news.

Four star for South Bend Tribune app

I enjoy reading all of the Michiana news when I using SouthBendTribune. I am thankful it is available for free.

By

I liked the old app better…want the e-edition

New app does not provide the e-edition option. I don’t want to just see highlights or top stories, i want to pursue through the paper as if it had been delivered…since it often is not delivered on time… ADD the e-edition if you want to keep me as a subscriber.

By

Great Paper, Great App

This newspaper is my go to source for information in the Michiana area. It is a great combination of local and national news as well as sports.

By

Obits

Would like to see most recent deaths first instead of having to scroll thru all of them. Some are repeated more than once.

By

Too many ads everywhere

SouthBendTribune used to be good, but now they toss up super annoying, loud, full screen ads every time you click an article, and some of them are impossible to exit out of. SouthBendTribune is almost unusable at this point, just the worst.

By

Terrible App

Please bring back the old app this new one I feel like I’m reading the same paper over and over all week. The layout is very confusing and there’s news from February contained in the daily paper! Very disappointing

By

South Bend Tribune

Mostly I read the Obituaries, I read the Tribune online as the printed version is kind of a mess!

By

This app is a joke.

As a subscriber I should be able to log in. But when I attempt to do so all I get is the spinning buffering action. That lasts forever days. I’m giving it one star because it won’t let me give it zero.

By

This is horrible

This updated app doesn’t even have up to date articles and there is no date on the article so you can’t tell if it is new or old news.

By

Liberal Tabloid Garbage

If you want biased and mediocre news stories, look no further. This “news” app gushes over anything Liberals say or do. Majority of stories are based on opinions rather than facts.

By

Terrible

Not only do you have to have a subscription to read articles - something not required by Google - but it also is not even up-to-date with the news from the actual website. Complete failure of an app and am no longer going to bother with reading the SBT.

By the way, here's a heads-up to the folks over at the SBT. As old people - who are the primary readers of print newspapers - die off your market is going to increasingly be dominated by online readers. And, the markets for devices to access the internet is being increasingly dominated by...tablets. Better figure out SouthBendTribune thing soon.

By

Worthless News App.

SouthBendTribune is for my local newspaper to which I have had a paid subscription for decades. It is worthless. Unless I am doing something wrong it does allow one to read any articles. When you click on a article heading it produces the message to go to the website to read the article. Well and good, but no links to the website are provided. So unless you feel opening a browser and searching for the tribune you're out of luck. I don't understand to purpose of SouthBendTribune other than to claim SBT has one.

By

Better app. Works with my SBT subscription

The new SBT app gives me a lot more news than the previous app. I understand that it costs money to create news so it doesn't bother me to support local news through a paid subscription. Less than $1 a day seems cheap to get access to so much information.

By

Can't find the place to sign up:(

I subscribe to the paper on the weekends, so I figured I'd sign up to use the new app. I clicked the link on my iPhone to take me to the place to sign up. It took me to the SBT website front page. After spending 15 minutes or so looking and searching for the place to sign up, I gave up and deleted SouthBendTribune .

By

Awful

Terrible to have to subscribe for news. Disappointing. Used to read the news every night on the old SBT news app. And, of course, like all things that work seamlessly, somebody's bright idea to change it only breaks it. Stop being greedy - go back to the earlier versions of this once dependable app.

By

Not good!

I absolutely use to love SouthBendTribune until the upgrade. Since when do you have to have a subscription to read an article. Then when you try to read it NOTHING POPS UP...please give Notre Dame their own section again. SouthBendTribune was fine there was no need for a change.

By

Paid subscription?

Their previous app allowed you to read the article and had ads, now they want a subscription. Considering other local sources for news are not doing this I am going to pass on SouthBendTribune.

By

Print is Dead

Just like the other reviewers said... You now need a subscription to view anything at all. I'll get my local news elsewhere since my paper delivery isn't even something I can count on.

By

Needs LOTS of work

SouthBendTribune, which is no more than a headline service as U.S., says it provides the full story w/a subscription. However, there is no way to enter that info, and can't find it on the SBT site either.

By

Don't download!

Even WITH a subscription, SouthBendTribune doesn't even work. I thought it was just me, I deleted redownloaded, logged in again, and it still tells me there's a new app. It used to be so good too :(

By

Frustrated resident

Agree with the others. SBT is not worth the subscription. Will look elsewhere for my local news. Deleting now.

By

Huge mistake

This is not the way to get people to buy the print newspaper. You've just lost another online reader.
