Money grab or poor management

Recently got the trial for $2.99 and decided to cancel since the app just wasn’t for me. Contacted apps support through in app and email and only got a response in app. Was told the subscription was canceled and when the end of trial came I was billed $40. I messaged them asap about it and was told it was a technical error and would be submitted to their finance department and within a minute was told my refund was approved and would see it within 1-3 days. I’ve asked for confirmation the first time I canceled and received nothing. I also asked again this time for confirmation for cancellation and refund via email and was told they can’t and would not give a specific reason as to why, just felt like a “trust me bro” situation. On another note I’ve seen multiple reviews about similar situations and the developer’s response is subscriptions are managed through Apple subscription which this app is not. Apple support told me they don’t have anything to do with it since the developer bills people through their own payment way instead of apples typical app subscription and was told to contact my bank since it shows in the bank as the developers company. Could just be me but seems extremely shady and my bank suggests getting a new card if the refund doesn’t show up within the time they said it would and since they can’t provide any sort of confirmation of any action to prevent any future charges.

I had a really frustrating experience with this app. I signed up through their app and completed payment, but there was no clear indication that I was enrolling in a recurring subscription unless I logged into their website separately. That lack of transparency already raised concerns.

When I decided to cancel, things got worse. I cancelled my subscription at 9 AM EST on April 1st, 2026, but the company repeatedly refused to provide a cancellation confirmation email. Instead, they claimed their system was down and couldn’t send one, which is unacceptable for any legitimate service handling payments.

I even contacted Apple, and they confirmed that this developer may be bypassing Apple’s subscription system to avoid fees, which explains why everything felt unclear and inconsistent from the start.

Overall, this experience felt misleading and poorly handled. Clear communication, proper billing transparency, and basic customer support like providing confirmation emails should be standard. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

This feels like a complete scam. I downloaded the game, and within the first minute it wasn’t even being recognized by the system. I contacted their chat support expecting actual help to fix the issue, but instead they immediately said the system wasn’t working and that I would receive a refund.

There was no attempt to troubleshoot or resolve the problem—just a quick “refund” response, which honestly feels like a tactic to make you go away. I have serious doubts that any refund will actually be processed.

Very unprofessional experience and a huge red flag. I would not recommend this to anyone.
