HMA Hotspot VPN & Proxy Reviews

I’ve had this application on my Windows machines for quite some time. I was very pleased to see is available for iOS also. It allows me to watch or listen to content that would not normally be available from my location. The actual VPN function for encryption is great when I am using public WiFi. The performance is surprisingly good. I get about a 15% performance hit with it enabled which is not bad. Love the name too!

Have been using it for over one year. No complains. Works all over the world. Very important if using public WiFi spots while traveling and trying to do stuff on the net (like banking) that requires highly secure connections. Also allows me to watch TV over the net when I am in another countries, all I need to do is to chose a secure US based server.... highly recommend.

It works, but it's slow and has connection issues. Constantly disconnects and then won't get a new IP, forcing me to turn it on and off manually. Fix it!!!!

Update: yeah, I’m sick of it. The other day it treated me like I wasn’t subscribed even though I pay month to month. In fact, I should say that it consistently does this every month on the day my subscription expires, but it became permanent and the support tech told me to just reinstall HMAHotspotVPNProxy . No. Sorry, but the proxy isn’t even that sophisticated. If you are going to make a dumbed down proxy program, at least make it work. Done with it. Switching to another proxy service.

I’ve had this on my phone for on or about a year. I’ve discussed this with tech support and gotten nowhere. What I want is to not have to toggle this vpn on all the time. I understand that when I’m away from home it’ll time out along with my wifi. That’s fine, but I don’t get out much anymore so the vpn should stay active yet it doesn’t. I have to remind myself to toggle it on every time my WiFi is connected. Even then it toggles off or times out randomly. Every time I get online I have to toggle it on and how long before it timed out is un predictable. I’d be very pleased if it didn’t do that constantly.

We have had the pay service since 2013 while living in Africa SE Asia and have never had any major issues. The few occasions we had trouble trying to stream video with it, all we did was contact the help desk and they were able to help us. Highly recommended.

I have used HMA VPN many years before many internet users even knew what a VPN was. HMA moves with the times. Lots of servers close enough to me without degrading the speed of my connection. Great support team when I have had to (rarely) reach out but they know the answers. HMA "rocks" and I appreciate their service.

I really like HMA as a VPN service, I keep it on all the time. Speed, endpoints and quality are great.

But I recently figured out HMA has been causing the airdrop issues between my iPhone and MacBook. My iPhone always seemed to be stuck on “Waiting” when trying to transfer between devices. As soon as I turned off the VPN, airdrop worked perfectly. Hope the developers can fix this!!!

I have been using this for over a month now and it’s been good .. I want to find out if there is a way HMAHotspotVPNProxy will disconnect my internet connection if the vpn connection disconnects .. I might be on a site with an IP from New York and something goes wrong and the vpn disconnects .. I won’t want it to still be connected to the internet with original ip .. can it disconnect my internet if the vpn disconnects?

Excellent service, but the locations in Europe have decreased over the years, and they seem to be blocked by some of the websites where I would like to anonymize my location, especially in Italy. Otherwise an excellent service.

Very slow and not well strong at the last versions and not even all that strong as a paid proxy vpn. Alway disconnecting when freshly Connected and will makes your internet stop working unless you turn on the vpn again, Sometimes it turns off immediately when trying to make a use of it this totally turns me off. Fix It we even need the old version.

This is one of the best VPNs I’ve purchased and I’ve tried several as I’ve lived overseas the last 5 years.

Easy to set up, lots of servers to pick and customer service is quick and responsive.

Price is one of the cheapest and you can connect multiple devises. Works great on desktop and Apple products.

Can y’all add Arkansas on the HMA VPN iOS Verison because is only available on tablet Verison but not on iOS Verison I highly recommend you should add Arkansas and is hard to navigate with Magnolia. I highly recommend you add USA, Arkansas ,Magnoila on the iOS Verison of HMA VPN to match it with the tablet Verison. The tablet version only haves 298 locations and the iOS Verison has 290 locations. So please add 298 Locations for iOS? Thank you.

I want to believe that I am protected as I have been hacked by a Perpetual and Persistent Hacker! I just don’t like when our WiFi goes out interminably and HMA does not come on when WiFi back up. Could you tell me if there’s something I can do in settings that would help me in this matter?
Other than that when on I do feel comfortable, but would like to know if I’m still hacked would HMA warm or can you tell me how I can change in settings? I’m not to apple savvy and just cannot go through what I have over my hacking issue.

Drops connections all the time. All the severs are blocked by many popular streams and services if you are outside USA. Changed to the next popular VPN and never issues. Stays connected all the time for weeks. No need to reboot the router. If a server gets blocked a new is always available. Hma is 20$ cheaper for a year’s subscription but the headaches are not really worth it and, if you are overseas forget about it. I’m sorry I’m only 3 months into annual sub. Money down the drain

Connects automatically most of the time. Often it shows connected but have NO internet capability, have disconnect HMA choose a different server location. Often I have to do it several times before I can get access to the internet. Each time it requires me to go to another program & see if it will load. It’s the worse on my cell phone because I can’t tell if it’s working of not.

Wow is cool and nice first tryout it change my location very well ,the only thing am having problems with now is after creating an account it shows me an error and also it shows me account already created with my email but i can’t longin

In the early years of this VPN, it worked great. Fast, simple, and never a problem. Since mid 2020, VPN fails to connect constantly. Have to manually configure. Since 2021, the only fix that works, is to delete HMAHotspotVPNProxy , download fresh, and install. Works fine for about four days, and back to “delete, download, etc.” Not worth the effort of contacting support, as in the past, they did nothing, I had not already tried. Bye-bye HMA.

I love this application it rocks and works !!! Been using over a year !! I feel great about using it and really keeps me secure surfing the web and keeps me more private which I like a lot ... turns me on that I’m safe almost like having a boyfriend... it covers you comfort !!! Lol

I give 3* not because HMAHotspotVPNProxy is bad but because there’s no way I can use it on my Nokia fiber router. Again, I’m not sure if it’s HMAHotspotVPNProxy , router or my ISP fiber service provider.
After opening HMAHotspotVPNProxy on any of my devices I lose Wi-Fi connection and only way to get it back up is to uninstall HMAHotspotVPNProxy .
On pocket router it works as expected.

This VPN app continues to improve and the features get better. You now have the option to disconnect the von on trusted networks and when you leave those networks you will be reconnected. Great for those looking for added security and privacy.

Whenever I try to use the HMA! on my new device it asks me to grant permission to install vpn profile but after granting the request nothing happens. I was enjoying your services until this new development. I really disappointed at your service, I just updated HMAHotspotVPNProxy to see if I’d get something positive from it but keeps giving me same outcome. You really should let me know how to fix it. Because my sub can’t be wasting.

this is a good vpn but it keeps disconnecting every now and then you need to fix it, i see people complained about this yet you haven’t done anything to fix the issue you need to stop ignoring people and fix the issue

I purchased HMAHotspotVPNProxy a month ago, initially it was working fine. But after few days connections got slow and I lost connection on and off . Now I cannot even log in. I have contacted HMA customer service many times via email but no response. Plus they have charged for next month too on top that. This is a terrible app.
