No ads and fast, but...

There are no ads (so far) and it seems fast, but it always quickly returns only a blank caller ID. In the years I’ve had it, I think it may have identified one number. But at least it doesn’t try to pawn me off on a subscription ID, personal info/history service like all the rest do.

Callers with non-commercial legitimate intent should not block their ID’s, or at least unblock it for personal calls. All numbers should be associated with an easily identifiable ID/owner. If they block it, then we should all practice not answering such calls. They’d soon stop waking us and unnecessarily disrupting our days. As long as they get someone to pick up, they get paid; even more if you buy whatever they’re selling. Even if one person in 2 dozen answers, and one in 50 go for their deal, it’s worth it to them.

That our congress opted to exempt political calls from Do-Not-Call list regulations was a travesty, and an example of the weaknesses and perversions in our otherwise plodding but sometimes effective government system. If only we could find enough politicians with the guts to separate cash from elections, how much more beautiful and true-to-intent our Constitution would really be.

CallerID worked well when I first started using it. I love the fact that it's entirely free. I can't remember exactly how any times it worked successfully, but just by guessing I probably received good results around 2 out of 3 numbers I looked up. However, for months now I can't receive any useful result at all. Maybe 1 out of 12 times it works. It doesn't work more than it does. It's so bad now that I've just gave up and stopped using it. Since I first got CallerID the location has never really done me any good at all. I'm not sure if CallerID does this for anyone else or not..? But when I search for the location I don't receive an accurate location or description really. For example when I look up a number that is in my state, the map shows an area that covers half of my state.. Doesn't really narrow down the possibilities very much.. The map also doesn't move, zoom in, or anything else that useful for me. Overall I loved it when I first got it (for number look up only) but I'm disappointed in it now.

Exactly That ! ! !

CallerID is exactly that, a free software app capable of identifying the caller that you are looking to see who the number might be or where the call originated from. CallerID does not interphase with your phones ability to store or review present or past calls, but how hard is it to memorize 10 digits. I remember growing up having to remember my home, work, relatives, and then some phone numbers. But in a world that now limits our abilities to use are mathematical and long and short term areas of our brains, essentially dumbing us down ! For what it is, it's better then paying a look up fee, or having to google reverse look up numbers. And it only takes less then a minute if that to look up a number through CallerID. How hard is that. I thank the engineers of CallerID for your ingenuity and time it took you to devise CallerID.

Better than others I've tried so far

CallerID has been solid. Contrary to another reviewer's complaint, you do not have to memorize or write down numbers. Simply copy and paste from your call log. The other caller id apps I have tried so far did not have the copy and paste feature that I expected. Other apps required payment for credits just to be able to use despite claiming to be a free app. Another two or three could not identify any of the 10 numbers attempted. CallerID identified all 10. I have only used it for a little while but I don't expect many if any trouble. I'm completely satisfied as it offers everything that I need for free without unnecessary bells and whistles that are expensive and rarely functional. This is CallerID you want. 4 stars!

Great App

Every phone number can not expected to be traced as new numbers are switched and/or created daily. However, it does as good a job as any in pulling the most accurate up to date information that is possible . Some things are just impossible and improbable like having the identifying information on pre paid, burner, or newly acquired numbers. In addition, some numbers are not even from a service carrier and are obtained via calling apps which only increase the difficulty in obtaining accurate information. Overall, CallerID does a fairly well job in acquiring caller information. It is just important to understand that not all calls will generate information as some are specifically created to do the exact opposite in which case good luck.

So Good, I’d Pay for It!

The greatest featured lacking from our smart phones today is the inability to display collar ID. How we have amassed such technology into our hand and yet still cannot reveal who is calling us unless the number is in our contacts is beyond me. I have used many phone number look up apps and generally they all do a poor job of finding the name corresponding to the number I search. CallerID found numbers my other apps couldn’t. In fact I thought I would throw difficult numbers at it and even found those. While the interface isn’t the best it’s simple enough to figure out and the back end is powerful enough to keep me using this for a long time. Now I just want to pay for it and remove the ads.

Good app does what it says - would only change 1 thing!

CallerID is great at providing the names of unknown numbers that randomly call and text at all hours of the day and night. Especially since it my case, the female who owned the number before me (3 years ago!): still gives out my number as hers - has her pharmaceutical drug dealers (the #'s have been given to the local PD & arrested) - loan sharks (again the #'s have been given to the local PD) - has a ton of debt collectors calling - and her friends who she didn't give her new number too. I gave it 4 stars because I don't like that after I enter the number I have to tap on the screen instead of just hitting the enter button, and I wish that it would block the calls of spammers.

Does what it says

CallerID is not perfect. It does not promise you the moon or claim to be the answer to your prayers. It cannot read everyone’s mind to make sure everyone gets their exact specifications. It’s free, ppl! So what if it asks you for a rating? Tell it yes or no, then move on w your life! So what if you have to click above the keyboard on the main app screen to get the keyboard to disappear so you can click search?? Dear Lord in Heaven, what next?! Boot camp??! I was happy to see a map available. CallerID can only gain access to so much information for free, same as what you’d expect online with a free search. You can get more online if you’re willing to pay for it. If you want a more sophisticated app, then go buy one.

Almost perfect

I have been trying to find the perfect source of reverse directories -- I have not found one that is perfectly accurate every time I use it... but this one is pretty good...it's better than the others I've tried-- even some that I paid for are not as good as this one---and it was free! So I can't complain---It's not going to be useful if you expect it to be perfect... but it's probably as good as you're gonna get--- I've tried lots of others - and this is currently the only one I haven't deleted -- I use it frequently-- it's not gonna cost you anything to try it--- so why not check it out...

Uhhh…Really?

Sorry, for me it didn’t do anything. And you want $9.49 for ad free and no usage limit? I was kind of disappointed when I read all the info before installing and found out it didn’t actually work automatically when my phone rings , but since most everybody else seemed happy with it I thought I’d give it a try. So the first thing I did was to try to paste a number copied from my iPhone 11 pro phone app, and a little temporary message popped up saying “pasted number from iPhone” , and that was before even tapped in the number search box to try and paste. But the number didn’t get pasted, and I was never able to get an option to paste…only cut, copy and select. Tried it several times…nothing ! So I entered the number manually but got no results. Maybe. hopefully, others will be happier and luckier than me.

Free & Works just fine for what I wanted to know

Worked just fine for what I was wanting to look up about a number that had texted me as if they knew me. CallerID gave me the name assigned to the number and a general location on where the person linked to that number is from. Allowed me to not worry about the number and move on with my life. CallerID as well as a hand full of other similar apps I used to reverse search a phone number, all apps gave me the same name that is linked to that specific Tele number and that makes me satisfied that CallerID as well as the others, works just fine for the low low price of FREE.

Very Helpful App

I have used CallerID for sometime now, about 18 months...
It does not always find out who is calling by name but it seems to work about 90% of the time and that is good enough for me to offer a *****5Star Rating*****
For the 10% that i can not get a name i try: allintext: "xxx-xxx-xxxx"... this is part of Google's search procedure and it is helpful too... go to Google and do a search called Google Search Engine for more details...
Thank you for reading my review and i hope it helps you in your decision making process to give CallerID a try... and to try and reduce the massive spam and scam problem we have allowed to fester in the USA!

Gets the name sometimes, but interface has issues

Was able to get a name and address for free for the first number I tried. So it's better than the White Pages app which charges $1.99.

However, has annoying interface issues. For example, when you get the result you can't go back to the search screen without clicking the button that displays a map of the location. Also, after entering a number there is no "search" button visible. You have to touch a blank part of the screen to dismiss the keyboard first. It would also be nice if the results included the phone number along with the name and address in case the user wants to take a screenshot of everything together.

Extremely Accurate So Far....

CallerID does exactly what I downloaded it for which is to reverse lookup phone numbers... I haven't been able to find any other app quite this accurate until now. If you have people calling you and don't recognize the number or a cheating spouse that you want to check up on, or any other reason to do a reverse phone number search and are having a hard time figuring out who's number it is or what the name is of the person calling/texting via typing in the phone number google THEN I HIGHLY RECOMMEND CallerID! Very simple and easy to use.

2 Stars because...

I’ve had CallerID for years now it seems it has went down hill big time when I decided to give CallerID a try it worked pretty well I was getting a name 1 out of 5 times and a location 3 out of 5 times and it still wasn’t an accurate location but close enough. So here we are a few years later and MAYBE 1 out of 30 times will give me a name the good thing is other apps charge to view a name. So with CallerID giving me info I need 1 out of 30 if I’m lucky, I’ve been looking for a new app and then I will be deleting CallerID as it’s pretty much become useless I don’t even think CallerID has had a update since I’ve had it, I’m bummed out at “Caller-ID” as it doesn’t I.D jack squat these days... #DoSomethingForUsCallerID

Helpful

It’s true that you have to memorize the number which isn’t fun if your memory isn’t good. It would be helpful if a paste worked. Being asked to write a “positive” review to make CallerID work isn’t good in my opinion. It suggests that you have to say something good to keep it working which means the reviews become less reliable.

With all that said, it’s been helpful to me on many occasions. You simply type in the number and very often it pops up the persons name. It’s helped me figure out if the person is a scammer for example.

I use, like it, find it helpful, but my only real complaint is not being able to paste the phone number in which isn’t that big of a deal.

Grateful for this app!

In a time when financially average or below average folk have to PAY for things that should be or used to be free- CallerID is a refreshing option for those of us who cannot afford to pay to know the ID of everyone who calls us (anymore than most of us can afford to go from one doctor for all of our body heath issues-to the new world of a doctor for every part of a body that ails us in numerous locations).
CallerID cannot ID everything you might desire-but is a GREAT ALTERNATIVE for those who want or need to know Information and should NOT have to pay for it!

By

Magic!

It does what it describes. It's FREE....what do you people expect? Seriously. Just copy and paste the number and Boom....simple as that. if you want caller ID features then CallerID is not for you. You need to "PAY" to have that. If you go to a $3 car wash and you expect the car to be spotless with shine then you are out of your mind. You need a "Detailer" for that. Anyways, just be happy that this is free and if not delete CallerID and don't post negative reviews. Rather complain, give them your input about CallerID to make the product even better.

Better Than the White Pages App!

CallerID is able to identify "unknown" callers and calls that only identify themselves with a phone number. Works for me about 98% of the time. Yes, some calls could be legitimate numbers, however, keep in mind that phone numbers are often "spoofed" so there isn't any way you can tell who the actual caller is. These
"Spoofers" are getting more clever. Grateful for CallerID which works 100 times better than the White Pages app, which I only get results 2% percent of the
time.

Caller ID

CallerID has returned proper data when checking phone numbers that I knew who they were assigned. I downloaded CallerID to check on suspicious text messages. Assuming the name returned for those have the same accuracy, then the one I just checked showing a Wall-Mart store (holdin a gift card for me) happens to be an insurance company. I intend to keep using CallerID even though it’s usually obvious that the message is a fake. I never click on a link provided unless I know the sender.

Does exactly what it says it will do

Quick and easy with no crashes so far and have yet to come across a number it couldn't identify. Only annoying thing is that the geolocation lookup is a bit misleading-obviously that only works for landlines which are few and far between these days. Other then that it's the cats pajamas!

Update-I forgot to mention that the design of CallerID is rather outdated. Although it is very simple to use, the lack of a "back" button is extremely annoying. I hate that I have to do the extra step of pressing geolocate before I can clear out the number I am done with and enter another one for it to look up.

How could such an obvious necessary function have been overlooked? It's not like the rest of CallerID was so intricate and detailed that the developer was overwhelmed and forgot to add it in there, CallerID has literally like 2 things it can do. How hard would it have been to add a third function; the back/clear button?!
