Hometalk - DIY Ideas & Crafts Reviews

I love this app and look forward to new projects! These projects are able to be done without being a professional and offer so much instruction and detail. Makes me feel like I am able to be creative, even though I didn’t have the idea originally!!! ♥️

I don’t like not being able to set up an account through email. Their only option is to link it to your Facebook account. I hate linking anything to my Facebook. When I opened Hometalk and couldn’t continue past opening without linking my Facebook, I thought twice. I seen the reviews are from recently as well as 5 and 6 years ago. That made me a little scared to download this. Why was Hometalk dormant for so many years? I’ll update my review after using it a while. As of now, this is it.

I have been a follower of this app after discovering it through Pinterest several years ago. I am glad there is finally an app! My inly complaint is that every day since Hometalk my app sends notifications in an increasing number. (Day 1 - I had 1 notification showing, Day 2 - I had “2” notifications, Day 3 - 3 and so on. I am now up to 21). If they would fix this, I will give 5 stars, but for now I think it’s a strong 4 stars for Hometalk !

I tried to go to the home site and was told I had to download Hometalk and now when projects come through my messenger I tap on it to go see what you sent and it takes me to the home page and I can’t find what I clicked on I’m about to delete it because that’s too much to do

I check this site every single day, and I always find something to inspire me to make my house a better home. I love the ideas and projects you share. I have used several of them and have several saved to use later.
Thank you again for the work you do to make this my favorite site. :-)

Great ideas without having to search and go to all those blogs! Some are just inspirational, while others are just want I’m looking for in a project. I don’t like everything, but I enjoy the he ingenious ideas people have to offer!

The only thing I would change if I could is the ability to make the pictures bigger… to be able to stretch them to see things better

I love this DIY site. There are so many great projects on here. Only problem is here lately when I try to watch a video, I can hear them person talking, but can’t See what’s going on or view the end result.
Also- when I’m on the Home page advertisements (like on a every web-site) will pop up, but you can’t exit out of them even after 1-2 minutes. That’s wayyy too much wasted time. Please Fix these Bugs so we can once again, enjoy this great site

I have deleted and reinstalled the this app app 3 times and I still keep getting notifications from both which is becoming annoying. Please tell me how to get off of this app on messenger. I can’t delete messenger as I still get messages from family and friends on it. Thank you for your response and instructions.

I love Hometalk I always look around , I’d like to find things for something to do actually really thoroughly enjoy doingSome of the projects are better than others but they give me a challenge

Been a follower of this app for a few years now. I love the inspirations and DIY power it encourages us to seek. However I hate hate hate Hometalk. Every time I try to view FB Messenger idea in Hometalk I am brought to Hometalk Store. This is even after the so called fix (FYI notifications have always been enabled).

Some of the ideas can only be opened in Hometalk and I can’t get to them.

this app - please do something. At the very least don’t force us to use Hometalk to continue following!

Some better than other. Our minds are so awesome and crafting is so fun. Most of my gifts this year are from something I’ve seen on this app. You’re awesome!!! Everyone have a very Merry Christmas!

I like the project content on Hometalk.
I just wish that the ads regarding pest control didn't show a close-up of a dead rodent! Call me squeamish, but I can't scroll through with the risk of seeing a dead rodent after every thumbnail. Nope. I'll stick to Pinterest.

Why is it that when I want to view a project sent through this app in Facebook I cannot find the one I just clicked on? The browser much so much easier!

I truly enjoy the variety of projects shown, along with the list of materials needed. I like it that if you re a new y you can still find great and fun projects!

I hate that I won’t be getting this through messenger much longer .. But I’m thrilled I didn’t lose it all together and don’t mind at all that it’s now available in Hometalk Store .. already downloaded it and love it .

Every day I have to delete Hometalk then pull down from iCloud before I could use it. I love this app but I’m tired of having to reload every day

My complaint would be that when a picture of a project comes up in Messenger that I would like to see, when you hit view in app. that project does not come up. You have to scroll those a lot of projects. I never did find the one they were showing in messenger. That’s frustrating.

I love Hometalk. It is so fun to find a DIY that appeals to me and then follow through and see the results. I have completed quite a few- it’s a lot of fun and gives us confidence to try more projects!

I love Hometalk and the ideas on it. My only complaint is, if I post something on the wrong board I can't seem to put it on the right one??? Even with the directions that are provided?? Otherwise, very fun:)

I really like seeing all of the wonderful ideas that this app has to offer. Hometalk was a great expansion from the Facebook App, knowing that some people don’t have Facebook.

It looks like I would enjoy this, but I will not use Facebook to link up with it. Since this is the only way to get an account, it appears that I will not have an account.

Love all DIY projects, ideas & how to recreate them. Great instructions. Most people can replicate, handy or not.

Been enjoying the Messenger version for quite some time. Happy to continue on with Hometalk ! DIY Awayyyy!

I am sorry bit i will not do that. Too bad. Will never get to see what Hometalk can do. There is no reason why FB has to be the only way

If you love DIY and want tutorials / inspiration you’ve GOT to get Hometalk! Move over Pinterest and Houzz, this app is my new fave!

Before I discovered this app, I had been using an app for Houzz I try to find ideas. It was typically discouraging because it catered to higher end designers and those with bigger decorating budgets.
this app, on the other hand, is filled with infinite, beautiful ideas that are accessible and affordable. It's truly something I've been looking for!
