Really subscription?

Do you think people have brain will subscribe for Merge. After spending for a watch and a phone just to connect each other we have to pay $4( basic) every month. Instead of subscribing use that money to buy Apple watch simple. This is just an app using bluetooth tech to connect to watch. You don’t need huge investment for infrastructure. Its one time developer effort and some maintenance.

Garbage

Was having problems with Merge yesterday when it was already free. Now they want to charge a subscription service fee when the notification system doesn’t even work. Before this update, I had somewhat positive views of Merge even though it barely worked. Now I recommend everyone to just ignore an app like this, and hopefully someone else comes along to create an app similar to this. Just becuase there aren’t that many options to connect the galaxy watches to non Samsung devices, they think they are suddenly offering a service that justifies this subscription service. If they kept their free previous mode and then offered a subscription to offer more options, this might have been a better change. However, I now have a changed view of Merge and its developers. Do not purchase this subscription.

Not stable

I canceled my subscription. It’s very not stable application. And not cost the money. Calls never showed up, messages not very comfortable too.
It’s all the time was disconnected from phone. I don’t want to check connections few times per day.
Before they made this application the watch app was better. I don’t want to pay for testing of your app. Do application which will work for clients and I will think to come back. Maybe.

Greedy pricing

It takes effort to build an app like this. I get it. Developers deserve to get paid. I get it more. However, the pricing is just way off. I would consider paying for a lifetime subscription at under $50. Any price above that makes buying an Apple Watch a better option, which is even more attractive when carriers just give a free Apple Watch when signing up for a monthly data plan, which is cheaper than Merge subscription at $5 per month with my carrier. A wear OS watch is just not worth the steep price of Merge.

PAID Subscription!!!

I am not happy. I understand they need the fee to pay but at least they should have made only calls and notifications free, no one is going to pay $60 per year to use this. Instead of this, I would rather by an Apple Watch. Please fix this immediately as it is affecting a lot of users. The only reason I’m not getting an Apple Watch yet is because I’m a little tight on money and that also accounts for why I’m not paying for a subscription. And a 14 day trial does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. My watch couldn’t even connect after I got the trial.

They added a required Subscription Service

I was using this on my Samsung Galaxy 4 watch for the last 6 months. Woke up the next morning to find out that the this app app on my watch had been updated. Now this app no longer works and I find out that an app for my phone needs to be downloaded and a paid subscription is needed to make it work just for notifications. I’m totally down to support the developers, but please not subscription plans. Make a one-time purchase available please! When that option becomes available, my rating will change.

Subscription really?

Last year i finally was able to connect my galaxy watch to my iphone but got disappointed after i saw i couldn’t conned my watch to my phone then it popped i needed a subscription idont really buy subscription but i would it if was like a 10$ one time purchase I understand that it hard to mantain but i dont think you need a monthly payment if Merge was free for a year why did you just deside to start charging i had Merge when it was free i feel like people that downloaded it when it was free should keep it free and people who are new should get a 1 time purchase can you do an exception for me?

This apps

It should have a free version and a paid version because Merge only has some functions that are not compatible, such as the weather forecast does not show the time. It should have 50 percent of the free functions working and the other half would be paid.

Recurring fee to use watch!?! Pass

$60 a year to use what once was free? Pass! You’ve made one update to Merge in the years it’s been out, talking about development costs is laughable to justify this decision in pricing. You literally had Merge everyone wanted and needed and would’ve happily paid a one time fee on and decided to destroy the unique space you occupy and invite competition. I’m happy to keep my watch as a dumb watch rather than feed this ridiculous system. Best of luck trying to get people to support this. In two years a user would’ve spent enough to upgrade the watch itself just for the privilege of functionality. A no brainer to pass on.

Beware - This is no longer free

There is no free option for Merge any longer. It appears that there is no functionality without buying a subscription.

I just switched to an iPhone and was excited to see that this app allowed me to still use my Galaxy Watch 4. I was able to use it for about 2 weeks before it stopped working. In messing with it today I had to update Merge . The good news is that it connected just fine again, the bad news is that you get no functionality unless you pay for it.

I do get that the developers need to get something for their efforts, but I was completely surprised that they went from a completely free app to a all-or-nothing subscription overnight... Again, I just discovered and started using Merge in December, so maybe they communicated this to users in the past, but I had no idea this was coming.

The audacity of the developer

I can not believe the developers have the audacity to go from a free program to a paid subscription service without even trying to give some sort of free version on what we used to have, or some option to buy it once for a lump sum. I already bought the watch, and I’m now expected to pay to use my device?

Another issue is how they framed the shift from free to subscription- they say “As a holiday gift, enjoy 2 weeks of Pro for free.” That’s another way of saying “sorry for stabbing you, here’s a band-aid.” Grandfather the current users into some sort of better deal, or give us the option to switch to the new version.

I understand the need for developers to be paid, but the way they implement this is poor, because the tools I had are now locked on 3 dollars a month plan, if you want new features, that’s fine, BUT DONT CHARGE FOR WHAT WAS ONCE FREE!!

Unacceptable

I'm going to start by saying that I understand that apps like this require time to develop. I get that. However, to switch to a *subscription* model out of the blue is simply unacceptable. That's not to say I wouldn't pay for this utility. Heck, I'd pay a lot, but only for a lifetime subscription. I'm not about to pay a monthly fee just so that I can use my watch, though. Until or unless there is a lifetime subscription available, I will not use Merge, or by extension my watch.

You took a good thing and ruined it for a lot of people, and you didn't even have the decency for people who want to thank you for your work to do so without committing to giving you a chunk of their paycheck on an ongoing basis. I'm not about to pay a tax to keep using my watch. I'll pay to own the software, but the transition of Merge and so many other softwares to a subscription model is simply unacceptable.

Don’t waste your time

Not worth a monthly payment

Expensive!

I understand we all need to make money but $60 a year?!? Or $6 monthly? How about just a one time fee? This is a bit steep!

Over priced garbage.

Firstly it’s absurd to pay this amount of money per month for a background app that isn’t that good. Connectivity issues, loop holes you have to jump through to not show a disconnected phone emblem every time you wake your watch up. Truly a bad experience.

subscription?

I must say, I am upset that the free utility I have been using on my phone suddenly downloads a subscription version with no alternative available to me. Upon review of the new version, it appears to do nothing more than the free utility did prior.. I believe the developer should offer the free utility version as an alternative and if they want to create a more enriched is a subscription service that is fine, but it should offer more than the free utility did to make it worth. At this time, I cannot send a text nor can I create a call on my watch with his new version so what is its new value?

Man oh man what happened 😔

I now have to find an alternative

Nothing is free…but

I don’t normally write comments, but I feel like I have to say something this time. I understand that developers need to make a profit, as well as fund further updates and improvements. I wish you luck with the $3/5 per month or $36/60 per year pricing model. However, my expected price for this service would be $0.99–$1.49 per month, or a one-time purchase of any amount equal to or under $30. I will be happy to provide more feedback on pricing.

The ideea ia good

The ideea is good, but it’s way too expensive. $40 one time pay per device would be better. It’s not worth paying. Better to sell the device with a discount and buy an Apple Watch. It’s cheaper and you could answer calls too. I don’t think it’s a good business model. Developers could earn more with a lower price.

Works great with draw backs

Merge it’s self works great does what it says and I had zero connection issues some of the health features I would like available like stress and o2 stats and I loved looking at my watch to see a quick view of the weather instead of picking up my phone it’s minuscule but I would really like to see the weather available on it all the weather on the watch says connect phone or can’t read location. It’s good but 60 a year is a bit pricey but I understand the work it took to get it this far.
