Font Candy Photo Text Editor Reviews

I downloaded the first versions of FontCandyPhotoTextEditor quite a few years ago and used it a lot. Finally, there was an app that allowed you to professionally adjust your type: letterspacing, line-spacing, and word-spacing (a very rare feature outside photoshop), and also the ability to set paragraphs of text in “justified” format. Like so many other type apps, there was no individual kerning, but there was an array of cool free fonts, and most critically, you could also load your own fonts. This made Font Candy a flexible, fun appto use when you just wanted to make a quick layout, without going into Photoshop. Sadly, that version is dead, replaced by this Instagrammy fangirl version. And on top of that a formerly free app is now on two dollars a week?! Are you kidding me? I would pay maybe, $25 a year. And if you could give me individual kerning, I’d pay maybe even $50 a year. But at the rate of two dollars a week, that’s an outrageous $104 a year. Get real. I’m all for developers getting paid so they can continue to provide and improve FontCandyPhotoTextEditor , but I’m afraid the developers of FontCandy have an unrealistic self appraisal of their app. It’s just not worth that price. I’ll just use Phonto-Pro, or fire up Photoshop.

I had FontCandyPhotoTextEditor on my iPhone 6+ and due to me being rather forgetful about updating, I somehow managed to keep the version of FontCandyPhotoTextEditor where I didn’t have to fork over cash every week to keep the basic functions of FontCandyPhotoTextEditor active.

When I upgraded to a new phone and installed FontCandyPhotoTextEditor , to my horror, EVERYTHING - the Blender, half the fonts I regularly used, all of the features I used FontCandyPhotoTextEditor for - are now locked behind the greediest pricing I have seen in photography apps. I can’t afford a weekly drain on my finances just to use an app that was on my phone a month ago. I am utterly disappointed in this developer, this was my favorite editing app. Used it on everything.

Edit: To my utter dismay, my other favorite editing app, Fused, is also by Easy Tiger. I’m deleting all of their apps off my phone, even if they were to drop the price to $0.50/week, I’d refuse to give them money. These apps were free-use last year, and they literally took features away to place a pay-wall around them. Goodbye, Easy Tiger.

Two years ago I downloaded Font Candy+ for $1.99 and it was amazing, after the new IOS update FontCandyPhotoTextEditor became useless. Then I had to download it again because I need it for projects. It was easy to use and didn’t need much tutorial for getting a 🔥 image. Now they say I have to pay $1.99/week? That’s BS. That’s $50 a year! The most popular apps don’t even cost that much. Don’t download FontCandyPhotoTextEditor. Don’t waist your money or storage on this SCAM! They know that they had the best product and they’ve taken advantage of consumers. This business will fall into bankruptcy. I will tell everyone I know not to use FontCandyPhotoTextEditor or any app by Easy Tiger. You’re scamming people! Shame on Apple for allowing this. You’ve just lost a customer.

That correctly $1.99 PER WEEK!! Then when I sent them an email to cancel and stop charging me, they tried to play dumb and say, “we don’t know what you are talking about, we couldn’t charge you like that even if we wanted to.” Really? Because you did and you have been! This is very shady business practices! I want all my money back! I cant stand people who do this kind of stuff to scam people out of money, until the consumer is actually on to them, and then they play games for another few weeks to get more money. That’s a total sham!

Not sure what happened with FontCandy since they started charging for it in Dec. FontCandyPhotoTextEditor often crashes & I have to delete it and reinstall. In doing so I loose all of my templates. I have to do this about twice a week!!! And the option to import a font isn't working either...! Maybe the designers thought that adding a sleeker interface would justify the new charges - but it doesn't if we loose functionality.

Aug. 20: FontCandyPhotoTextEditor always crashes when I try to add artwork. I have to remove FontCandyPhotoTextEditor & reinstall to add artwork & in so doing - I loose all my templates.

Functionality has declined since Font Candy started charging! Isn't the opposite supposed to happen?! Looking for another app - post haste!

I paid for Font Candy + 2+ years ago. I have loved it dearly and have struggled to find another app that comes close when it comes to editing things the way I need them to be edited.

However, Font Candy+ is being phased out (it no longer appears in FontCandyPhotoTextEditor Store, you cannot share it with others, and members of your Apple Family cannot download it either). Instead, they’ve introduced an outrageous WEEKLY subscription which is absolute ludicrous. But that’s also the only way to get rid of their logo in FontCandyPhotoTextEditor . Unless you’re willing to pay $50-$100 a year for an app (you can pay just a little more and get a higher quality editing app for your computer or phone), FontCandyPhotoTextEditor has become useless.

As a longtime customer with multiple of the Easy Tiger Apps, I’m sad to say that I can no longer support them as they move in this direction.

6/22 UPDATE: they still won’t restore your purchases. I paid to remove the watermark years ago. App still crashed and says “nothing to restore” get the Add Text app. It works the way FontCandyPhotoTextEditor used to, NO WATERMARK. You can pay to unlock more fonts and a lot of the free fonts are the same as FontCandyPhotoTextEditor. Very disappointing the direction FontCandyPhotoTextEditor has gone. This was a great app until the new update. FontCandyPhotoTextEditor was fine until I tried to restore my purchases. Ever since then it crashes upon opening. I even deleted it and reinstalled several times. It won’t let me restore purchases and now won’t open. I will change my rating and update if a new update comes out correcting these problems. 5/20 UPDATE: there was an update that fixed a “bug” but my app still crashes. Anyone know of another good app they can suggest?!

I bought font candy pro probably little less than 2 years ago. But for the past few months it’s been crashing acting stupid a little slow but I dealt with it. Now for the past few weeks it’s kind of become unusable! Which makes me very upset because I absolutely LOVE FontCandyPhotoTextEditor this is my favorite app to use for my photos. So I search FontCandyPhotoTextEditor Store for FontCandyPhotoTextEditor today and only the free one popped up my paid one is gone! So I paid for it’s gone and it’s unusable! The new app that is free for the pro version it wants me to pay $.99 every WEEK! I already paid for the pro version I should not have to pay for anything else again!! If you pay for something once you should not have to pay for it again!! This just frustrates me so much because Like I said I ABSOLUTELY LOVE FontCandyPhotoTextEditor!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

FontCandyPhotoTextEditor had much greater stability once upon a time. I’ve been using FontCandyPhotoTextEditor since 2014. It’s always had the option for your payed effects and things which I didn’t mind. It’s free section was more than enough for me. I made a lot of cool stuff with FontCandyPhotoTextEditor and have loved it. But they’ve since overhauled their text rendering which is now not good. Getting to the text boxes was easier and moving the text was easier. Some of the effects don’t work properly any more. I was doing an annual project replicating an image to watch my growth. I can no longer accomplish the same result. While I understand apps moving forward and changing over years… this is not that. They had something good and in my opinion ruined it in an attempt to make it better. Hope it gets fixed someday. For now I’m going back to the 2k16 edition on my old iPad.

To be clear: I bought FontCandyPhotoTextEditor and paid full price for it. I’ve used it for years. This was a terrific little app until this update with “pro tools”. Now they want me to pay to remove a watermark despite the fact I do NOT use any of the new pro features and can no longer create the things I was creating before this update without the watermark. The developers have gotten greedy and completely ruined a perfectly functional app by demanding payment for unwanted and unused features. It’s like watermark ransomware for an app you have been using for years. You cannot use FontCandyPhotoTextEditor without the watermark showing up despite not wanting, needing or using ANY of the new “Pro features”. Definitely my final purchase with this developer.

I import alot of fonts onto font candy, and there are alot of fonts I end up not liking, and everytime I delete a font, so if i delete multiple fonts, when i close FontCandyPhotoTextEditor /refresh FontCandyPhotoTextEditor , all the fonts i just deleted end up right back on the top of my font list, this is very irritating, the only way i can clear all the fonts (but then i would have to start over and re-download all the other fonts I DO want), is to delete the font candy app and re-install it, and i really dont want to have to keep doing that in order to make my font list look nice.
Can someone please help me resolve this issue???? Thank you.

So I like being able to add text to my photos to get the poster look. Having the ability to order magnets, t-shirts, & pillows is neat too! However, when my photo is uploaded to those product templates it always cuts off the majority of my text and/or photo. The cropping isn't shrinkable but only zoomable. It would also be handy to have the sizes of 4x6, 5x6, and 8x10 available so that after utilizing the text features a person could print or order those size photos without having to use another application, like Snapfish. Also when adding the text in it lets you increase size and shrink text size but it would be better if you could set the perimeters so there are margins and the text doesn't run off the page when it is increased in size.

I love what I can do with FontCandyPhotoTextEditor when in the midst of using it, but I have two main gripes 1) you can’t save progress so you essentially can either only work on one thing at a time or redo something from the beginning if you want to go back and make a small change, but the bigger issue is 2) for whatever reason, it almost always remains frozen for several minutes when I first open it; if I leave FontCandyPhotoTextEditor for long enough then come back, it does the same before I can start using it. Maybe something’s going on with my iPad Pro 10.5 (since I got it a year ago but it seems to have gotten worse) but it did the same thing on my iPad Mini 4 that I had before. I can’t reliably open app and get straight to work right where I left off. It’d be AMAZING if it wasn’t for these two things.

This is an overall great app! It is a really fun past time if your bored. And can serve as a advertisement starter. However I must complain about the prices. I know that your company has to make money to keep it going but $1 a week seems a bit much especially if you only use it at the most once a week. As a suggestion maybe lower it to the amount of times you use it charge an amount. But otherwise this is a really great app that has lots of features (if you upgrade to your subscription) I highly recommend!!!😃

I love having an app that allows me to make social media ads from my phone. I take my mock-up or picture, and I write in sale dates, discount codes etc. wish it were a bit more intuitive though. I haven’t found a way to edit a previously completed project. I don’t want to start over, I just want to change the date or replace the words Good Friday with the words Cyber Monday. I love the collection of fonts and color choices. I love how you can take text on a photo and animate it. It’s relatively easy to create professional looking ads.

Been using FontCandyPhotoTextEditor for work but all of a sudden it doesn’t work anymore! When I put search it says I need internet connection, which I do, and it won’t work with data either (yes I checked my settings) so I uninstalled it and installed it again and now not only is the problem still the same but I can’t restore my purchases meaning the watermark is there and the fonts that I had everything disappeared and I can’t recover it! It’s very frustrating especially since I spent money on it.

Easy to use. Something special happened to me with in the last 48 hours. And I decided to make an account that is an anonymous where no one knows my name or who I am or where I’m from exactly. To give me a chance to explain everything. I am in no way trying to say I am funded by FontCandyPhotoTextEditor. But I am definitely going to use it for any photo editing that I need and would love for them to sponsor me one day IF they choose. They are not obligated to. And I love FontCandyPhotoTextEditor very helpful and maybe one day I will hit the news once and become a hit for something great! But these are just Dream I realize that and am pretty “down to earth” so to speak. Will definitely recommend it to people.

I don’t know how much you all pay attention to these reviews but I have a few suggestions that, in my humble opinion, would perfect FontCandyPhotoTextEditor. 1. It would be awesome if the size feature allowed users to specify width and/or length adjustments. Sometimes I want to make text wider without making it longer and vice versa. 2. Being required to upload an image seems outdated. It would be cool if users could type text directly onto the transparent background. 3. There should definitely be a “return to previous work” option so that editing a previously saved image doesn’t mean starting completely from scratch.

Other than those things, I love it!!!! It’s so great.

EDIT: I forgot that I purchased long ago, & the full version is installed as “FONT CANDY +”, not “FontCandy” (restore purchase didn’t bring this up either)… There are TEN different options listed under in-app purchases, but ONLY ONE (weekly) option in FontCandyPhotoTextEditor —DESPITE HAVING UNLOCK EVERYTHING FIR $2.99 in description. No thanks—why not make this an option instead of/in addition to the trial? I installed over 3 years ago, before they converted to subscription model. It’s with the price, not the hassle of having to remember to unsubscribe or upgrade to avoid multiple charges. One star off for tricky subscription options. I was recently asked to send photos to a company as part of my official product complaint. They asked me to put the reference number ON the photo. So, I went looking for an app that would help me. (I did not know my device had a markup feature!) Many required an iOS that I did not have, all seemed to subscription-based. But this one offered a 7 day free trial. So, I gave it a chance. It's nice! I won't be keeping my subscription because I don't need these services for my day-to-day life; but I could certainly see using FontCandyPhotoTextEditor if I were more active on social media. I'm glad I know it's out there, should things change. I found it user-friendly and inspiring. The options are plentiful. Just not for me, right now. Also, wish there were a free version.

I have been using Font Candy for years now and purchased the full version for several dollars when I first got it.

FontCandyPhotoTextEditor then kept crashing and freezing so I recently went ahead and deleted and reinstalled this program.

The good news was that it seemed to fix the glitching BUT now its wanting me to pay weekly for what I have already paid for when I originally purchased FontCandyPhotoTextEditor .

I get subscription services when there is a lot of new content constantly but there is only a few new things that I can live without and now so many of the same options I was previously enjoying through my paid app is now available only in the “pro” subscription for $1.99 a week.

This is ridiculous.

If you want to make a subscription service then by all means you have the right to, but do so with new exciting content and don’t take away things from people who have already paid for FontCandyPhotoTextEditor and now tell them its not enough that you paid once, you need to pay weekly to have the same services.

I love FontCandyPhotoTextEditor! I have used it for probably 2 years as for promo & various projects. I pay for the extra features & appreciate the variety of fonts & other features! My ONLY complaint is not being able to edit my past projects. Sometimes I flub a name or date & I have NO way to fix it other than starting over which is such a bummer! If y’all could add that one feature it would be greatly appreciated.
