Fontmaker - Font Keyboard App Reviews

It requires you to pay to use the font. It is a keyboard you add into your phone, then you type on their oddly small keyboard, then you copy from the window you type in, and finally you paste it into the actual text area and get the font.
Taking the time to write the font is not bad, but the fact that you literally can not use it is what makes it pointless. Save yourself the time and energy.
After 4+ years in Fontmaker Store you would think they would know better than to charge $5 a week or $20 a month just for a font. I have also read a lot of the comments and reviews, they just say ‘Thanks for downloading Fontmaker and we will take your opinion into consideration’
If I could leave zero stars I would. Completely pointless, useless and the developers obviously do not care about our opinions because in over four years they have not been able to manage an improvement. Whether that improvement is the cost to use Fontmaker , the ability to use it free by running ads, or literally anything of that nature.
Zero stars. None. They do not deserve a single one, but I can’t leave a review without at least one. Sadly the developers do not care, so I am not sure why I am still writing this review. Maybe in the hope that someone will read it and not waste their time on this company useless app.

This is a cool app and calm but, When you have to text in a small box when you can use the normal box, To me it just not makes sense why they do this, also some people under 7+ years old, probably does not knowing how to do that unless with a parents or guardian to pay but seriously I am not trying BE a BIG deal about this but the main thing is that why do you have to pay $5-$20 per month to use a single font?, I know it’s just a waste of money and cool writing your hand writing is super cool but in my opinion I won’t really download it, it does waste most your time out of our day and round 20 or 5 dollars just to type with a font and use it and do it per month I honestly think it’s useless the normal font we have now it’s great! But to me Fontmaker pretty useless and wastes peoples time? Yes I am sorry if, I’m being kinda rude and repeat myself over and over but fr I don’t think it’s the perfect app. Anyways I hope you can improve Fontmaker so least SOME people will like your app but for me your ratings I see is not doing so great, so try do something new! And that’s all sorry if it was so long-

Okay so when u was looking at the reviews. It has seem to be going downhill. However, when I was playing. The free trail advertisement seems to have an “ X” so yes, you will see this but you can always decline. Also, they are not kidding you. You can actually make your own font with your own style. Cursive, sloppy. Really anything really. But, the part that I do not get. Is having to talk with this font. But that really isn’t an issue for me. However what I have been noticing is how the reviews have been saying in this game. Do not worry. This game doesn’t seem to have issues. It could also have been updates. Bugs. I can’t see that in this game. So for me this game is perfectly fine and not lying.

I’m with the people. $5/week? Like that’s pricey. And I don’t see where they have people saying they gave them 5 stars. Like I clicked through every filter; “most favorable” had all one star review and I saw not one 5 star. How fake! This is a cool concept and all but $5 is stupid and greedy. They could make so much money by lowering the price and maybe something monthly? I’d give them $.99 a month. I think a lot of people would pay for that and they could make a lot of money. Maybe I’ll design my own app with this concept and take everyone who were set off by this overpriced product 👀. I could be a millionaire. The makers of Fontmaker keep saying under people’s reviews that they are thankful for the feedback but are they actually going to listen to anyone? Deleting Fontmaker immediately and making my own

First of all, the $5 a week mandatory subscription is a complete scam. That’s $20 a month for 1, yes ONE Font. You can’t have more than one at any given time, so to make a new one you need to get rid of your old one.
Secondly, it’s not even a real keyboard for your device. It makes you copy and paste an IMAGE to wherever you want to send your message.

Lastly, to make Fontmaker actually worthwhile I suggest; 1. Adding the ability to make more than one font; 2. Making the keyboard function actually work like a keyboard (other apps have done it); 3. Changing the pricing. (Maybe make the first font free and then charge .99$ for the second? Or a MONTHLY payment (not $20); 4. Add a gallery feature. It would be very useful to search for fonts made by other people (maybe someone wouldn’t want to make their own, or can’t)

The idea to be able to write with your own handwriting through text is amazing. So first things first, when you enter Fontmaker there is a fee for premium, which you can press x and decline. Then it asks for notifications and full access before you begin to make your handwriting. Next when you finish all of your handwriting it asks for a review that you can decline. When you want to text with it it needs you to copy and paste your text when you copy, you need to buy premium. Even without premium copy and paste would be extremely annoying to do. Therefore you realize that you just wasted 10 minutes of your time making your own handwriting, getting pop ups for review and notifications when at the end of the day, you were going to delete it.

I love Fontmaker because I can actually do my own handwriting it’s not like there’s other apps that make the perfect but it’s not like the thing that comes with the iPhone iPad or Samsung or any type of device it’s your handwriting so it’s basically expressing you and how you write it’s not like the fancy-schmancy handwriting or text that you’re iPhone you know any device it’s your handwriting so what expresses you but I love it so much So thank you thank you thank you thank you for making Fontmaker ever made it I love you I love you I love you I love you love Kai

Um I guess this is me testing out my handwriting as a font I don’t really know how I feel about it, actually I do it looks inconsistent and nothing like me actual handwriting. It looks sloppy and since I had to do it on my phone it makes it that much worse. Also to actually be able to copy and paste your message you have to subscribe to a free trial. As well as Fontmaker just has some overall bugs. It’s made okay , but I honestly feel like it’s a complete waste of money . It also looks incredibly tacky. The overall idea for an app like this was very interesting and unique so I’ll give them credit for that. But yeah you should just not get Fontmaker endless your okay with dealing with any of that 🙂

Fontmaker is really disappointing and i’m really dissatisfied. i saw an add and i was really hoping i would be able to just text people in my own handwriting instead of the usual. but no, you have to pay weekly, or monthly to be able to use it. and the prices aren’t cheap either, i get that people need to make money and they though that making a font maker would be a good way. but honestly it just disappoints people more than it does get you money. sure you might have people who pay for a little bit. but wouldn’t the satisfaction of knowing people like your app and actually use it would be better than the occasional money from it?

I drew my own font, and it turned out really well. But, the problem is, I have to subscribe to be able to use the font itself. 20 dollars a month, are you serious?? That's ridiculous. For one font. Please let people use their own fonts that they worked hard to make without making them pay 240 dollars a year. At least do that or make it to where you spend like three dollars a month. At least. It makes no sense to make it that expensive for one little font. I have to copy and paste it, but then the subscription page pops up. Please fix this, because I really like the font I made but I can't use it.

I was excited at first because I could really make my own font but then when it came to the end I was disgusted with disappointment because you had to PAY to use the actual font and it doesn’t even have it on your keyboard, you have to copy the font you made then paste it which is a complete disappointment.
This was a complete waste of my time and I have no idea why they would make something like this then make it cost money. I would not recommend downloading this just for your own font. It a complete waste of money and your time. I would give this 0 stars if I could and the developers are COMPLETE BOTS. All they respond is “thanks for downloading” as if we give a complete poo.

Fontmaker is useless to download and serves no real purpose. It gives you MANY warnings before downloading saying that it can look at previous texts and scan the data, like an address. It was an overall pain to download and was kinda creepy too considering that now I’m being tracked and listened to. The other reason I don’t recommend Fontmaker is because you create a font and that’s it, you don’t even get to use it unless you pay a ridiculous fee of 5 dollars a week and 35 dollars a month, just to use a font style. There are many safe and usable apps that can help create a desired font but this one is just not it. Don’t download this unless you want to be heavily dissatisfied.

I got an ad for this and I though it was pretty cool. I downloaded Fontmaker and created my font which was pretty fun. I went into iMessage to show people my new font and it asked me to type something and copy it to send. When I pressed copy, it took me to Fontmaker and showed the free trial ad, which is when I found out that unless you pay you can only create the font and it's otherwise pretty useless unless you get the premium so personally I think that Fontmaker should either be free, free with premium that just has add one but otherwise can still use font, or just pay to download.

Ok, FIVE/TWENTY DOLLARS????? For A FONT??!??!?!!!!?? Also, the devs really don’t care about your reviews, so don’t waste your time like I did writing a review unless you really want Fontmaker to be rated worse. In my opinion, if you are looking for a font keyboard, just download the “fonts” app. All the devs do is say, “thanks for downloading our [stupid font app that can only be cool if you pay 5 dollars a week or 20 dollars a month] app this app! We will take into consideration what you said!

I like Fontmaker , and it has potential, but it’s already been 4 years and nothing has changed [I haven’t had Fontmaker that long, I just read another review on Fontmaker that said Fontmaker has been on Fontmaker Store for 4 years]

I downloaded this, spent like 5 minutes making the font, and now you tell me it costs money? I think Fontmaker is a complete scam because you have to pay five dollars a week to use it and that's pricey considering that it is just a font. I have Fontmaker that doesn't require you to pay money and I can do stuff like ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ an. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) and ಠ_ಠ and even different stuff lik. 𓆉 and ☻︎. I am very disappointed in this map because the only thing that costs in the other app is that you can actually customize the keyboard it's self which I think it's a good deal but since you have to pay money to use the FONT is very stupid. When i downloaded Fontmaker i was so happy that i could make my own font but when i saw i had to pay i was confused. If your not gonna let us use it unless we pay it’s kinda dumb and that’s not the only thing. The actual cost to use it is expensive 4.99 a week no unless you make good money you can’t afford that. it’s dumb thinking people will actually buy it some people would but don’t realize how much they are spending. i do love Fontmaker but take some consideration into the fact that your making us pay 4.99 a week for a font which is stupid. other then that it would be a good app but right now with that cost and the premium it’s a dumb app.

This should be a “pay to install” app and not “free with in app purchases”. I made all of the letters and numbers, and then wanted to try it out, only to discover that you needed to sign up for premium / 3 day trial in order to actually copy & use the font at all. Kind of violates the spirit of free apps, in my opinion.

Would be nice if you had some sort of limited functionality (instead of zero functionality) with the unpaid version, like “lower case letters only” or something. Or maybe the premium version lets you type directly into your messages, instead of having to copy paste the font every time.

After seeing this as an ad on Instagram and think it would be pretty cool to try and see what my handwriting into keyboard would look like. I get the question for money, and I know you are running a business but you look at an ad that says “for free” and then it’s not. I’m sorry but also when you have to change the keyboard to allow data. READ THE FINE PRINT. Literally asking for your data and it could have record of your personal information. What are you running here. I’m sorry but this seems like a great idea and fun for who ever, but the cons are valid and you should waste your data buying Fontmaker if it’s going to give you no results

The idea of Fontmaker is really cool since you get to have the person decide what they choose instead of picking from a select few but when you make it that pricey per week then less people are gonna wanna get your app. Usually the subscription just gives you exclusive items and perks but this one has you buy the subscription just to use the font you made. I would think you use the subscription to allow for more fonts instead of just having one in the first place.
