I can’t make an account all it says is login and it won’t give you the option to sign

I honestly think y’all should have fixed it more so we could actually make a account and be able to play it instead or playing with our feeling thinking we was finally finna get off IMVU and play second life but y’all didn’t that’s messed up and uncalled for to just have the log in button but not a start a account button what’s the purpose of having the game out if you can’t even get on the game you basically just waisted our time thinking oh yeah we’re gonna be able to play the game have fun doing stuff etc etc but yet we can’t do nun next time before you launch a game make sure it’s fully developed or y’all gonna hear from my lawyers

Waste of money/ updated

So I got this thinking that it would be better/ comparable to IMVU but this thing is janky and basically unusable. Got the premium version since you have to in order to even use SecondLife , when I signed up and bought premium it said that apon purchase of premium version you would receive your own home, but don’t have a house either like I was told that I would receive on doing so. Can’t interact with anything, nothing loads in fully just a complete letdown all around.

Since August when I made my first review it’s like nothing has changed at all. Cool you can come in of a free account but you still can’t access anything or interact with anything. The whole experience is buggy and doesn’t work. I’ve tried to cancel my membership but was told i needed more information first??whatever. Ima just cancel the card. Waste of time and money. GO TO IMVU. THEY ARE BETTER IN EVERY WAY

Finally get a app and it’s trash

It’s no resource heavy for mobile, you can’t do anything with it and might as well be stuck unable to move. It’s impossible to use the joystick, no so use. Don’t load right, and it overloads good phones to overheat in seconds which is the dumbest thing ever.
They didn’t put any thought into this to make it actually work and have quality for a mobile

It’s to hard on phone resources and can crash phones so I suggest it’s to harmful for mobile and needs REMOVED of SecondLife Store. They did something as well and can’t report a issue with apple which is scammy and scummmy as heck

Disappointed

I had high hopes for SecondLife, but it’s been a letdown. As a new user, I found it hard to get started, there’s minimal guidance, and the experience feels stagnant. There’s not much to actually do besides standing around or going to different places. Without a “find a friend” feature or interactive activities, it feels empty and unengaging.
The technical issues make it worse. My avatar often doesn’t load correctly in destinations, sometimes showing up invisible before SecondLife crashes. Plus, there’s no inventory, so I can’t interact with objects. For an app that’s almost a year old, it feels unfinished and lacks features that would make it fun or welcoming for new users. SecondLife is extremely disappointing, I recommend just sticking to the pc because this will make users less likely to even want to play the game.

Don’t download this unless you need to send a message

As long as they have had us waiting i would've expected way better for SecondLife especially with the hype I'm appalled by the fact that I can’t even go to my land because the region is adult and they’re saying it exceeds the appstore maturity or something like that which is completely ridiculous and my avatars skin is as black as the bottom of a shoe i can only see the clothes the body and the hair properly its just very disappointing from what i can see and you can only log in if you have premium or premium plus but for all of that just get rid of SecondLife completely if i am unable to visit moderate or adult regions

We didn’t need mobile

Honestly. We did not need this. Pc is still having crashing issues. I am so over this. Pc needed to be fixed. This game kills your battery unbelievably and you guys thought mobile would do what exactly. I am becoming more and more dissatisfied with the experience within second life as a paying paying. We did not need the. App only added more to the problems second life has on its own. SecondLife is severely unstable and unusable. It don’t need to be released to the public. I am questioning linden labs as a community not. Doesn’t seem to be making very good decisions. Again. SecondLife could’ve waited.

Not ready for prime time yet

The only reason I am wanting to use a mobile client is to be able to be in SL when traveling. This mobile client allows chat interaction and the ability to see and also to move round, although the move function is still way too touchy (if you re on your phone you will move through and past your intended target in a nanosecond). The most important missing piece is the ability to interact with objects’ menus. You can “sit” but can’t the give permission to the object or otherwise access its menu. So for now, it’s a glorified chat app. It’s taken literally years to get it to this point but I am hoping that true functionality will be coming sooner rather than later.

Exciting!

I’ve been in SL since 2007, and somewhere along the way began dreaming of mobile access. Now here we are. Exciting!

About SecondLife : The graphics are amazing, but in the beta stage some things are not rendering as they do on a computer. For example, transparency seems to be nonexistent. I’m anxious to see that get worked out. My avatar renders perfectly though. That is a big win.

It’s super cool the way my avatar is merely an outline while the graphics render during game load. I like this feature.

The walk/run/fly features are working great, but seem to get activated even when I’m just zooming in/out or trying to look around. I’m sure it’ll get worked out though.

Stage 1 beta is a hit. I can’t wait to try functional interactions when that is built out. Lots of promise here, and I am excited to see SecondLife grow.

Not the best…

I understand this is still something they are working on, however I thought it would be best to put my opinion so it can possibly get better. My clothes don’t load, they stay black. And I believe there should be more options, I can’t really style my avatar when I click on avatar it just shows me the name of the default avatar you get when you first enter the game on pc. More option and gameplay could be nice!

Having problems loggin in

They are saying I need a premium membership I don’t see where can I buy or pay for it because it mostly I wait for two years for this be mobile application, because I got tired of other avi - market apps because it didn’t let you do much in which I got account I just can’t log into it which horrible

Decided to dive deep into my comment

Cons….
1. You can’t interact with the menu.
2. Sometime you load black.
3. You cannot log into adult areas on iOS.
4. I went into a party and you cannot dance, and you cannot see the other avatars.
5. Joystick is too flimsy. I want to walk. I don’t want to run everywhere.
6. The phone gets too hot.
7. SecondLife does not run in the background so you have to keep re-logging in. So get in notifications is out of the question.
8. You can’t teleport.

That’s all the Cons I can think of at the moment…

Pros…
1. You can listen to the music.
2. You can sit, run ,and walk
3. Logging in is smooth
4. You have a developer menu
5. You can change clothes.
6. Avatar loads smoothly
7. Doesn’t lag much at all.
8. The graphics are pretty good.

That’s all the pros I can think of right now…

The changes I would like to see you soon is the overheating, Hopefully being able to run in the background so we can receive notifications…. And ability to use the menu on an object.

Good and bad

When group chats start… there’s no way to close them!! All my other issues have been addressed by other reviews! So I will state this one because I didn’t see a review about it and it is rather annoying! It even does this on the pc! I have most groups set to not pop up when chats start. But they always pop up anyways even tho I opted out! I want to be in groups, but the constant notifications for group chats I have zero to do with is enough to make me want to leave notifications for new chats OFF!! So then I have to manually check if it’s a friend or a group just spamming away! I tried to hit the x in the top right corner and it just closes chats, not the group chat!

It’s still in testing phase!

First: The version I’m writing about now is ONLY available to SL users who have Premium or Premium Plus. If this isn’t you then you won’t be able to log in.

With that out of the way, on to SecondLife itself. It’s rough. But that’s to be expected. They’re testing things, getting things ready for a full release. The more of us playing with it the more info they’ll have to make sure the full launch is what we need it to be.

While it’s currently not in a state I’ll use it a ton, I’m very excited to see it progress. 4 stars for the potential. After launch I’ll adjust accordingly. As somebody who has played for 19 years and spends lots of time in world I’m very much enjoying these peeks of what is to come.

Has potential!

It’s exciting to see how far SL has come since 2007! My avi looks great on SecondLife . I wish I could go where I want and not have to use the destination guide, I wish I wasn’t standing like a newb and my AO would work. Moving wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be. Also adjusting seating options would be great! All in all it has potential and I am excited to see how it advances. Understandably it won’t offer ALL that the desktop offers but getting much closer would be amazing. This is a huge bonus for those who wouldn’t want to miss sales or events due to RL. However… it’s just not there yet. Talking in world is about all it’s good for right now, and let’s me honest we use discord for that anyways. If you want tips before you try: save some of your landmarks as favorites so you have more of a chance to go where you like. I didn’t see any clubs on the destination guide on SecondLife , so much for listening to my fav DJ while working in the office (shhh….)

Good , really.

1st: Read the description. This is a Beta release and not all features are available. It is not intended to be a full client, but a convenient tool for communication.
2nd: Read the description. This Beta software is for select current members of the community, not new Residents.
3rd: Read the description. Beta releases tend to be buggy. Newer tablets and phones will likely be better than older ones.

As this is a Beta release, I know that sometimes there will be problems, but so far so good for me. Even with slow hotel WiFi, rendering is fairly brisk with good detail. I found that if I first rez or change outfits in a location without a lot of clutter, my avatar quickly pops in and also quickly becomes well-rendered when going to other locations.

One feature that I hope comes soon is access to landmarks not in my Favorites. Fairly sure that others hope that faster purchase and management of in-world items comes before that. Many will yearn for what some consider to be the Number 1 SL activity, _______. I’m just glad I can relax in my home, at a beach, or in a forest from wherever my meatspace self is found.

Do. Not. Tell. My. Boss.

Super excited and super disappointed

I’m always in need for more time on SL and tried several viewers for mobile with some success. I’ve been waiting for the SL app for long time and it works great as a chat app, keeps me in touch with people and somehow I can keep track of events in my community. The downside is that I can’t see avatars but white outlines fully covered by boxes, I guess those are huds. I can’t touch Avis to start conversations and close chat windows when I’m done.
I hope things get better.

SL for 9 years

It’s awesome to see SL come to Mobile. So far for the features we have it’s not horrible it’s nice to be able to drop into the world on my phone.

It goes without saying that it’s beta as of the time of review. I’m still giving it 5 Stars.

A few things I would like to see in the future if I may:

1.) Ability to turn off the 3d world view and just use SecondLife as an SL Chat medium. This could actually go a long way toward saving battery life as well.

2.) access to huds and menus. Mostly for poses and alpha layer adjustments on certain outfits.

3.) FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT PULL THE RUG ON THIS. The mobile market is MASSIVE and could be an amazing resource for the community.

All of this being said. This has the makings of being a full force SL viewer in your pocket. I don’t expect it to be perfect but for what it is. It is good.

Perfectly Beta

Logged in, my character is now black. Tposed, ready for anything. Made my way over to my car with flexi pizza in hand glitching the whole way. Hopped in, completely uncontrollable. Crashed it. My animesh balloon dog by my waistline seemed unphased, yet completely static to the situation.

10/10 can't wait for my next mobile adventure. You only get to experience beta once. It is what you make it, so make it a good time!

Wish it ran on mac as well.. that'd be neat. Might try on simulator..

Not bad for a first iteration!

I knew fully what to expect going into this, that it is for premium members only, that it’s going to be rough around the edges, that this is a tremendous undertaking going from one game engine to another…. and so far i would say it’s on track for a nice mobile experience of second life. still needs work, i was not seeing proper textures here and there but i did see the models loaded in quite well. it’s a little clunky but it’s a nice way to access second life from my phone. keeping it five stars for now and over time i will adjust if necessary. :)
