AW Complication Needs Work

I was excited to try BodyState after reading about it on Reddit, however I am disappointed that the Apple Watch complication does not auto-refresh itself and I need to manually refresh it by opening it. I would like to see the complication auto refresh without the need to continuously interact with it.

Measures mostly sleep and workouts

I'm new to the body battery concept so as a reviewer I have the advantage of having no set expectations. So far I find the concept interesting, but feel like the algorithm is mostly providing a one time value--the energy at the start of my day, and then gradually decreasing it without taking into account new HRV measurements. So I might feel super zen but it says I have 14% left because I went for a run, or I might feel out of it but I'm at 75% because I slept the normal amount and have not moved much.

I would love an expanded info section like another reviewer commented because it is very possible I am interpreting this wrong, but it really seems like the body state value is based on my sleep metrics and my workout metrics alone, and doesn't take into account other things I might do during the day that the AW can track (be stressed, walk around, meditate, repeat). And if I'm right I'm not sure why BodyState needs multiple taps to sync (I'm assuming with my phone) every time I want to check the value?

Almost there. A few, critical, missing pieces.

This is quite good for a simple overview. For someone coming from body battery this is really legible, but for someone like myself this is actually pretty difficult to wade through because the information area relates more of why things are measured and how they are averaged than actually teaching us what the information means and how we can use it and why it is measured. I had to research body battery itself to understand what I needed.

While the main overview is simple and to the point, which is a positive imo, but it is almost too simple. I can see a history, or graphs, or deeper insights.

There is a niche for BodyState where it can present information on the surface similar to body battery, but then can be dug into to show information in a manner similar to Whoop or Athlytic.

TLDR: don’t treat BodyState like everyone will already be familiar with Body Battery. Educate us fully like we are dummies because most people using this will have always had Apple Watches and therefore won’t have used body battery before.

Couldn’t connect

I tried to get it to connect and tried the trouble shooting tips with out any luck. Bummed
Update: was finally able to connect and use BodyState ! Deducted 1 star for my individual difficulty in setting up.
It would be nice to have a more detailed description for each feature/score. Overall, good. Free to use! Thanks.

Great app

It is a great app and easily to navigate. But I could not see the full sleep baseline due to the length and body state history. Also, it will be better to give any suggestions for the improvement. If those problems could be solved, I would love BodyState !!

Awesome

I switched from a garmin to an AW a little while back. Body battery was one of my favorite features. I found BodyState through Reddit and it is very similar. It’s nice to see everything on one page. This could easily be a paid app if the creator wanted to make it one. You do have the option to tip the creator for some “skins” / themes which I took advantage of. I like having the ability to display it as a widget on my AW although my only complaint is that it does not automatically update or even periodically. I have to tap into the widget and wait for it to update. If there’s any way to run it more frequently or every 15 minutes I would love that update. My four star rating is really a 4.5… That update or ability would easily push me to 5 stars!

Great

Awesome so far, the update today cleared up issues and it’s working better. Looking forward to Apple Watch complications!

Adding an Apple Watch Widget

I love BodyState. It works great and it's amazing that it’s free. Can you add an Apple Watch widget? That would be the perfect cherry on top.

What an awesome app

Absolutely love BodyState, check my complication multiple times a day

Wonderful app

Everything about BodyState is well done

This app rocks

Very straightforward and easy to use/understand. Very helpful in monitoring my body daily.

Better than Garmin

Great alternative to the buggy, bloated, convoluted Garmin ecosystem and their body battery. Simple app, does what you need it to do, and free. Will be donating soon. Thanks!

Great app

I’ve been searching for an application like this for a few months, and I finally found it. Thank you!

Fantastic app for Apple Watch Users

Such a great option to summarize health information on the Apple Watch. Look at it every day!

Helpful

It’s simple and does what it’s suppose to do without fuss. It’s helped me get better sleep and focus on taking better care of myself.

New Apple Watch user!

I haven’t used for a long time, but this seems to be a really cool app to be able to track how ur body is doing during the day.

Body Battery

If you like the Garmin body battery feature, this is an easy way to add it to your apple watch. While there are some other big players in the space (bevel, eclipse, athlytic) this one is free and still provides similar tracking.

Awesome

I got BodyState from the developers comment on reddit and I love it. I love indie projects, it’s sleek, free, no ads, no sign up. If BodyState was paid I probably would pass on it but since the creator seems so genuine it makes me want to pay to support them and we need more developers like this. Incredible.

Love, love this app!

Have been using BodyState since the past month and I found it to be awesome!
I’m amazed at how accurately BodyState depicts my “body battery”, it’s insane! Just spent some extra $ to buy all the themes, that’s how much I think BodyState is worth it! Sending lots of support and love to the developer. 💯😭

Nice app with potential!

I particularly like that it show and uses fatigue (acute training load).
