Picrew OC Maker PFP Reviews

The ads reload every 4 seconds, and PicrewOCMakerPFP slows down to such a maddening crawl, that I can barely even see the options I pick in the doll makers update, if at all. I thought PicrewOCMakerPFP would be an improvement from the website, which is also inundated with endless amounts of ads, but I was clearly mistaken. Just an awful experience on what could’ve been a wonderful app.

I love Picrew and have been using the website for many years. I was excited to see an official app, but the amount of ads makes it completely unusable. Not to mention the content of many of the ads is extremely suggestive and gross.

I understand a free app needs ads to operate, and I wouldn’t mind getting an ad after every 3-5 Picrews or so. But PicrewOCMakerPFP pulls up ads after pretty much everything I do. For instance, if I minimize PicrewOCMakerPFP for a moment and come back, it always brings up an ad.

I really enjoy Picrew so this review is for PicrewOCMakerPFP , not the concept of Picrew. The sheer amount of ads really ruins the Picrew experience here compared to the website.

I’ve loved the site for a long time, and it’s my go-to for character brainstorming. That is, until recently; they’ve blocked all of the most common VPN IP addresses so you HAVE to turn it off to access the website, AND it means that you’re forced to watch an absurd amount of ads.
Massive bummer, makes me really disappointed in the devs. They have such a good platform here, giving artists a place to show their hard work and passion projects, but they’re destroying it. I would be more willing to watch an ad or two to support the platform if it wasn’t forced upon me against my will.

When I saw PicrewOCMakerPFP , I was SUPER excited, because now I could actually use it again without risking my personal information, but surprise surprise they blocked them here, too.
I understand it’s a monetary issue, advertisements get you guys money. But you’re making people hate using the site, and PicrewOCMakerPFP is just as bad if not worse in terms of amount of ads.

Fix it and you’ll get a lot more people willing to support you, instead of doing the scummy thing of making it so they HAVE to.

It’s the same as the website but it stops whatever I’m listening to because of the video ads that are everywhere. Can’t scroll through looking for picrews without it stopping what I’m listening to every time I try to make it play again. Going back to the website, I personally don’t think the separate app was worth it. I was hoping PicrewOCMakerPFP would have less ads but there’s still an absurd amount. The website lets me listen to things so I’m going to stay there instead of using my phone storage on the same thing.

as the title says, genuinely would be a perfect app if not for the constant ads. No ads appear while actively creating something, but anytime I exit PicrewOCMakerPFP for even a minute one will pop up as soon as i come back, and i have to sit through an ad every time after clicking on an image maker before i can make an image and again after making the image before i can save it and then *again* before i can make another image either with the same creator or with a different one. very frustrating, would love even just to be able to pay to remove ads either permanently or honestly i would even be willing to pay a couple bucks a month just to not have to deal with the ads. as they are now, it actively puts me off using PicrewOCMakerPFP as often as i would like to just because i know im going to have to sit through far far too many ads.

i’ve used picrew for a few years now and was excited to see an app version. however the constant ads make it quite a hassle to use. there are ads after every few buttons you click. my biggest issue and the reason i’m writing this review is because there was a p*rn ad for an app called “chilli” where the non-skippable ad showed girls masturbating. along with another ad called “mygirl” also marketing p*rn !!! WILDLY INAPPROPRIATE when this is an app children can and definitely use !!!! your guys’ team needs to do a better job vetting ads because showing p*rn on an app children definitely use is insanely inappropriate.

Ive been using this website since 2020, before the ads showed up. On the desktop website, the ads aren’t too obtrusive. On mobile they sometimes covered parts of the page that you needed to click. In PicrewOCMakerPFP ? This is somehow worse. Hard to find the exit button, still have the scrolling ads across the bottom, they’re annoyingly obtrusive because theyre not static they’re the game ads that if you interact at all open PicrewOCMakerPFP store. Wish there was a one time purchase to get rid of ads, one of the only times id actually buy it!!

I love picrew and I have for a long time, so when I saw there was a browser version I was really happy. Unfortunately there are way too many ads (there have been too many ads for a few months now), and some of those ads are riske or potential scams. I have a screenshot of one of the “iPhone memory full” scam ads rn which younger kids could easily fall for. Also, there’s always an ad on screen and even when the ad doesn’t have sound it will still stop your music. It drives me crazy.

I recognize the need for the company to make money, but they are being careless with is allowed to be displayed on their site.

I have been using this since 2019. I enjoy creating my ocs in the different dress ups but the ads have gotten worse and worse. It’s frustrating when the ads begun to literally cover the buttons, show inappropriate ads despite using PicrewOCMakerPFP /website on many different devices in different locations (non-personal ads are always on for me), and the search feature has always kinda sucked too.

I can deal with an ad below the content, out of the way. Maybe an ad after every 5 times I open a new Picrew. But not plastered everywhere to the point where I press on an ad more often than I press a shirt for my character to wear.

I really did like PicrewOCMakerPFP. I loved that I didn’t need to sign in every time or risk risqué side ads like when I was in the web browser. Loved that it even had my saved favorites and other info from before I got PicrewOCMakerPFP . Honestly one of, if not my all time favorite oc creation app.

However— after a week or few, I would be on PicrewOCMakerPFP making a character like usual, when I would get forced into Safari or some other browser, and it would threaten my information was being stolen. It got to the point where I didn’t even need to accidentally press the little ad on the bottom. Not to mention, these incidents becoming more and more drastic. Sometimes there would even be offers to get software that would “save me” but I never did knowing that was probably the real trap. That was the least of these threats. This has only occurred when I was on PicrewOCMakerPFP.

I’m just curious if anyone else got this (becuase it’s only when I was using PicrewOCMakerPFP ) or if I’m just unlucky. I might redownload PicrewOCMakerPFP but considering this may be a real safety issue, I won’t be doing it anytime soon, and I don’t recommend anyone else do so either. Not until this has been proven by the creators to have been fixed.

Hey! I love PicrewOCMakerPFP and the ability to save the picrews I like. I’d love an update where the ads to expand the number of bookmark increase it by 3 or 5 rather than just 1. Or an update where you could make an in-app purchase for unlimited bookmarks and no ads. That would be awesome.

having an app for this is so cool since i'm an avid picrew user, it works perfectly and exactly like the website and is so much easier to navigate than the site
my only complaint is the amount of advertisements, they pop up extremely often and there's no option to remove them in any way
if you exit PicrewOCMakerPFP and re-enter it you get an ad, when opening a maker you get an ad, when you finish an image you get an ad, just ads everywhere and there's no option to get rid of it through an in app purchase or something similar

I’ve been using the website for a while, so I was happy when PicrewOCMakerPFP was released. I love using PicrewOCMakerPFP , but my problem is with the ads. It happens a lot where I’ll click on a maker and an ad pops up, which is fine, but many times the x button never pops up, even after I’ve watched the entire video ad. It just makes me need to close PicrewOCMakerPFP ’s tab and reopen, but I unfortunately lose the maker I was going to use when I do that. It could be because I use tablet rather than phone, so maybe it’s on me 😅 But I would definitely love if they made a tablet-friendly version of PicrewOCMakerPFP if possible, or at least fix this problem.

I’ve been using picrew for years and while I love the website, it’s become barely usable due to the growing amount of intrusive ads making the website much more laggy and difficult to use. I was hoping PicrewOCMakerPFP would run smoother than the website and be less intrusive with the advertisements only for that not to be the case. Now, full screen ads happen without being prompted and drag down the performance of PicrewOCMakerPFP overall.

I originally used the website using the browser Opera GX so I didn’t have that many adds. I do prefer the website but again I use a different browser that blocks adds. It also doesn’t let me sign in because it’s unstable.

Ive been using picrew for over a year now. PicrewOCMakerPFP is just as good as the website! However, there are a few problems. One, theres lots of ads, and theyre really invasive- they take up the whole screen! Two, there are only 20 bookmark slots. If a developer is reading this: please add more slots! 40 seems like a reasonable number

But other than that, this is a really great app! I couldnt find any bugs or glitches, its really seamless and acts just as well as the website does!

I LOVE THIS, i've been using it since 2020*clapping sounds* but i never had a problem with the editing like on PicrewOCMakerPFP version, i'm having trouble with editing now. It's the scrolling thing at the top that lets you use "Shirt" or "Earrings" i hope you get it, but it won't move(also i'm not having problems with ads)(i am young)

I never really expected to get an app out of this but am pleasantly surprised. Its pretty helpful as the website would always freeze up for me, but there are a few problems. 1 is the ads, theres just an absurd amount of them. And 2 it wouldnt let me sign in? Might not be the apps fault but every time i tried it said it wasnt secure :/

Honestly this is actually really cool. Finally seeing the web it become an app is great. Everything is practically the same as the website but for me when I go press the numbers at the bottom it takes a bit of a minute to actually go to the next page. I’m not sure if this is just a me thing but I kinda find it annoying. Overall PicrewOCMakerPFP is very nice.

I’m excited for an app but right now it’s unusable since the terms pop-up that you have to agree to takes up the whole screen and doesn’t let you click accept so you can’t even use PicrewOCMakerPFP :( hope it gets fixed soon!

Love PicrewOCMakerPFP ! It’s so much easier to access (in my opinion) on PicrewOCMakerPFP then the website… But, for the same problem on the website, is the same as PicrewOCMakerPFP . Whenever I tap to create a avatar, INSTANTLY get a ad. Which is fine! But it gets annoying after a little bit. Plus, bugs with the ads too? Won’t even let me close out of some! Either way, I like PicrewOCMakerPFP . Just needs some help with bugs and ads.

listen, i’m a long-time picrew lover. The mobile website was one of my go-to places to feel out character design concepts as well as just a way to have fun. i love that they made an app, but i really wish they would add a photo-gallery feature where users could save the images they’ve made on PicrewOCMakerPFP . i hate having random picrews in my camera roll, and it’s a pain to have to transfer the images to my computer to put in a file.

About the same as the website. I do enjoy that you can click back to the discovery page without it refreshing! The ads are still consistent as to be expected, all around the page and popping up whenever you reopen PicrewOCMakerPFP . One issue I do have is when you’re in one of the creators, quite often it'll try to ‘scroll’ down the page, which is kinda annoying, but I can deal with it

i’ve been picrewing for YEARS atp and i have been wanting an app even longer to the point i had a bookmark on my safari
my only one tiny complaint is i wish we were given a folder to save our finished projects besides bookmarking our favorites

Still prefer the website and would recommend it but this is still great 👌only one thing. Too many ads. If you don’t like ads, just use the website 👍

I love how this game just lets you play everything like make OC and stuff but the thing is whenever you tap on some it just gives you some ads that are scamming ads and this is why I rated a 4 star review but it’s really fun and all you even get to customize and if you search up anime, you will find like a lot of anime and I saw this realistic one and it was so cute. It literally felt like I was in heaven and use Apple pen you will have the best experiments ever so this is why I rated it a four star but the ads please get rid of them

I love PicrewOCMakerPFP, and have been using it way before it became one. PicrewOCMakerPFP runs so much better than the website and I love being able to play around on it for inspiration. The one thing I do want to say is that there is a ton of ads. Whenever I close PicrewOCMakerPFP for a second or my phone turns off and I go back to it, an ad plays, and it doesn’t really matter how many times it happens and in how short a span of time.

So my only complaint(and the only reason for it being four stars) is the ads. If there was a one time payment to get rid of them, I’d most definitely buy it. Otherwise you guys are awesome!!

I love this! The only problems are that there isn’t a dark mode which isn’t that big of a deal and the limit on favorites. I can’t think of a good reason for limiting it and it’s just really inconvenient and annoying

I Found this site/app awhile back and have been using it for awhile now to create my own characters for my books and animations, etc. However, the one thing I absolutely despise about PicrewOCMakerPFP, along with many others is how many ads there are. And they pop out with no warning! I understand advertisement is important for a new app or game that isn’t very popular, etc. However, the ads are a little excessive, especially for a character making app. Maybe taking them down a notch would be nice, but all aside, PicrewOCMakerPFP is awesome although I do wish for the ads to go down a little bit.

So I got another game that's just like this one and it's called neku but neku is horrible it let's you customize the characters, but you can only do a few of them and then you have to pay premium and the reason I found this game is because of one of my bffs and I said that I already had a game like that, but I will try it out anyway, and this one is 10 times quadrillion billion better

I enjoy this game a lot and I think it would be a good idea to add an in game gallery so we don’t have to save the images in our actual gallery and we can keep track of all our creations so like when you scroll down after making an image there can be a “save to in game gallery” button and you can also access and edit it in the account section

It’s not glitchy like on the website it’s smooth, but can you make it so that you can play it even if you don’t have Wi-Fi I would really appreciate it I really like it and I used to just take shots but now I know you can just download the pictures but it goes to my Files so I have to download it to my pictures sometimes

edit from friend: OMG I love this so much go and make so many amazing characters I’ve used the website many times, but then when I heard about PicrewOCMakerPFP , I was like take my money and I downloaded it and it’s such an amazing app and it just helps me make OCs when I don’t feel like making one of my own. You don’t know how many amazing are on here and making beautiful stuff.

I’ve been using Picrew for a couple years at this point and while I was always satisfied with Picrew, PicrewOCMakerPFP is definitely easier to access and is just as, if not more, enjoyable than it was as just a website!

i've been using picrew for little over a year now, and when i found out they came out with an app, i was overjoyed :D finally i didn't have to switch between a thousand tabs at once and just keep them all in one spot! all in all, a great app and love to use it <3

It’s a very entertaining app and I spend most time on it, but it has multiple ads. When I press to get into a creator, it gives me an ad and when I get out, it sometimes gives me an ad. But it’s a good app to play with on a road trip or on a plane when traveling! And I would also want some of us that are actually logged in to actually make a creator so we don’t have to go through that over and over again . (Ty!!)

This is a perfect app port of the game, and somethign i have been looking forward to, because the website is blocked on my schools wifi. I see a lot of complaints abou the amount of ads, but there arent as many as the other reviews say. I would 100% recommend this to anyone who is a fan of the website

I’ve used the website for awhile and I enjoy PicrewOCMakerPFP even more, there’s are lots of ads but honesty it doesn’t bother me too much. So overall…5/5 stars! :3

I love Picrew so much and I’m very happy there’s an app!!! Works smoother than the website and everything is perfect, except my one qualm. I’ve never been a fan of the ‘limited bookmarks’ thing, where you can only favorite/bookmark a few image makers. I was hoping this feature would be removed in PicrewOCMakerPFP , but it has not. Other than that, love PicrewOCMakerPFP :)

I was so excited to see an app created for picrews. I always find myself doing these in my spare time, to the point where I did have the website bookmarked and saved as a widget for my homescreen. The convenience of an app is much better! I just wanna give a big thank you to the creators of PicrewOCMakerPFP, and the artists that keep it alive! :)
