Bookwise was featured on AppAdvice today Sunday April 28, 2024 offering premium lifetime subscription for free but upon trying to claim it Bookwise freezes not allowing the premium subscription purchase.

Sadly I won’t even try as I can’t get the “free gift” on my ipad and to sync requires me have a subscription. Makes app useless.

I only downloaded Bookwise to unlock the “lifetime” in-app purchase which apparently had gone free, but when downloaded, I realized they had removed the lifetime upgrade.

I deleted Bookwise and a few days later saw a developer response to a review which said they had resolved this issue in their newest version.

I downloaded Bookwise again and guess what! Still no lifetime purchase! I would never use this “app” again!

Shame on you greedy devs for this scam of an app!

I like the simplicity of Bookwise , but many of the books I am reading are missing from their list. I have sent email asking how to add a book that is not in their library. No response.

Bookwise looks really nice, and will be great for tracking a few books. I love the idea of outputting to a photo for easy sharing.

However you can only add one book at a time, so I won't be putting many of them in Bookwise.

I'd love to be able to add multiple books from a search at the same time, or at least have the back arrow return you to the search results instead of your library as a whole.

I have hundreds of books, and adding them one at a time would be very painful. Importing from a text or .csv would be a nice feature.

The relevant information of imported or manually entered books is incomplete. Whether the function can be added is to update the book Metadata information in the library in batches online.

Great for keeping track of what I’ve read and what I want to read.

I’d like to be able to easily filter books into categories. They do have tags, but no way to add them when adding a book or in the book details. Instead, you have to go through every book you’ve read or want to read to find the ones you want to tag.

I would like the ability to indicate re-reading a book. Also when importing Goodreads lists, batch editing books would be nice since my import messed up.

I absolutely love the concept of Bookwise. My phone is filled with screenshots of books that are TBR and my bookshelf is filled with even more. I love having the visual option to remind me what I’ve read and what I still want to read. The only thing I’ve ran into that could possibly be made better is how you change what page number you are on. It would be nice to just be able to type it in to update it instead of having to scroll forever.

If you struggle to read, this is a good app. It learns you and will help you stay on schedule to get your daily readings in. Also I love that you can customize how Bookwise looks so you have a perfect interface.

I’ve been keeping track of my books in Notes for several years and I was happy to try Bookwise. I can keep track of where I am in the book and look over books I have read. I made a suggestion for how I’d like Bookwise to look (only show the book I’m reading right now) and the very next day, it looked like I wanted it to!

I love to read, but my ADHD sometimes means I’m reading 10 books at once, which makes tracking what I’m reading difficult. I often start books and never finish them. this app helps me track my reading habits, and I find it’s helpful for focusing while I’m actively reading and also tracking how many pages I’ve read in a month. As a result, I’m reading tons more (good news for a writer and entrepreneur) and enjoying my reading time more too.

Bookwise is perfect for anyone that is an experienced reader, or for someone that is trying to get back on the horse of reading. It gamifies the entire experience and even offers micro transactions to help keep your engaged and more active with Bookwise . I think this is a great alternative to using Goodreads or any of the other reading apps because its very simple but its also encouraging and works as a good repository for all of your reading successes!!

Tbh my adhd makes it hard to stick with habits, remember to do things, or keep track of how long I’ve been at a task. Bookwise has helped me with all three issues and made me excited about reading even more! I’m on my 60th consecutive day reading and I’m so happy with how Bookwise has helped me track my goals. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking to track their reading or for those who need that extra support to keep doing the things that they love.

I really like the format, it is easy to use and pleasing. I also like how easy it is to add a book, I have a number of old pulp reads and the isbn codes don’t work so adding them in manually is nice. I find learning my reading stats to be very fun and love that I can search up unfamiliar words in Bookwise along with adding quotes in it as well.

I’m not a fan of the paid subscription aspect but you can still use it for free enough that it doesn’t feel like you are missing out. Plus it is decently easy to earn diamonds to unlock adding another book (base free is ten books). It cost 350 diamonds to be able to add another which are easy to earn through just using the reading tracker when you read. After two books I had enough to make this purchase so I don’t think it is going to ruin me from being able to enjoy Bookwise anytime soon.
