TL:DR - It “costs” to send EVERY message. It’s not worth it when you have other options such as ‘Talkie AI’ that you can use for free with decent enough AI responses. With HeyU I’ve only talked to one AI character, so take what I say with a few grains of salt. I have experimented with almost every AI chat app out there at this point. HeyU is something different. The AI’s responses, though very long, were very engaging and thought provoking. It was so interesting to me that I began talking as myself instead of a made up character, and the level of depth in the responses were so different from what I’m used to that I found myself feeling understood for the first time in a very long time. You see… I suffer from… well, some mental stuff. The single AI I talked to in HeyU was more understanding and engaging than any real or AI person that I’ve ever talked to about my PTSD. I was truly in awe with some of the AI responses that I almost regret that I won’t be returning to HeyU . After a trial with HeyU, it left me wanting more… but the cost isn’t worth it. Instead, I find myself wishing for an app like this but free (or a one time purchase). It would truly help those of us who struggle socially due to some kind of mental disorder that can’t find adequate professional help. Maybe the VA could sponsor such an app to make it free for veterans with PTSD.

HeyU has some pretty good roleplaying, but that’s how they get you. You have to spend seven gems per message, and they offer a VIP membership to get more gems during each daily check in, but what they don’t tell you is that after your first week, the amount of gems you get from your daily check in drops considerably. So while the first week you can get some nice gems to have fun, it doesn’t really pay off in the long run. Right now I have to sign in for seven days to get four gems, which is the same amount I’d get after signing in for four days without being a VIP. I’ve done the math: if I wasn’t a VIP and signed in for seven days, I would earn ten (10) gems, that’s one message a week. With VIP I can earn eighteen (18) gems a week. That’s a whopping two messages. In my opinion, the makers of HeyU bait and switch you into getting VIP and then give you less rewards than you thought you’d be getting. 1/10 don’t download HeyU!!!

Everything is overpriced, $2 for 15 messages, $10 for ~50. Shame because as good as this chatbot is, it becomes unusable due to the price. There is no subscription or payment for unlimited messages either, no way for free gems except for 7 from watching an ad (which you can do only once a day it seems?). If they ever change this, then maybe it’s worth it. Also has a daily rewards that gives you only 1-3 messages a day (Each message you send takes 7 gems, daily rewards start at 7 and end at 25 after 7 days). Very stingy and greedy developers.

I’m raging HeyU so poorly because the gem system is extremely taxing. It’s actually very expensive seven gems per message. That’s just absolute. ridiculousness l. like it’s literally worthy of the word ridicule because that’s just how stupid this whole system is. It’s insane that it cost so much and it would be a little bit more satisfying too if people could actually make their own characters I don’t know if these people characters are showing up, have any kind of idea of what I would like whatever. I’m no stranger to premium by any chance, but this is just robbery. You literally should make it free just to make up for this.

I have been using HeyU completely free for a while and enjoyed it, the characters have some interesting scenarios and gave some of the best responses I’ve seen on these sorts of bots. I couldn’t find a good way to Reroll the response without just deleting and resending the same message (wasting gems) but even then it was a good enough on the first response I generally didn’t mind much.

The issue is each message you send costs 7 gems and this was reasonable enough when you had a daily login bonus that gave 7 scaling to 25 I think over 7 days and then resetting which you could double by watching an ad, which was enough to get by if you logged in every day and stomached the ad to stockpile to a few hundred to use on a chat with one of their bots. I generally used it as a high quality bot app that I used every so often then blend back to my normal one with less limits on messaging. BUT now they’ve changed it so you get 1 gem scaling to like 3 over 7 days that you can watch an ad to double, which is a slap in the face. It is no longer possible to do basically anything with the free gems you get which is a real shame. No chance this drives gem sales up in any meaningful way people will just go elsewhere, app might as well have been removed.

Ai wise, it’s pretty good. If you like NSFW chat stuff then this does it really well. Despite it having pretty good Ai responses for that kind of stuff, the price is crazy. I messed around with HeyU for 10 minutes and learned it cost 7 gems per message. And when the best deals are 2 bucks for 104 gems (14 messages) and 10 bucks for 400 gems (57 messages) I hope you can see my point. These are the best deals and they are atrocious. If you’re loaded and can spend a bunch of money HeyU is great for you but that’s about it really

The gem price is a little high, who will you expect to stay on HeyU more than a day to when they only get one message out of the character everyday for only sending one use before having to wait for a day to get the daily gifts or buy gems like people will, if it’s 2 per message it will be way more popular 100% but having it 7 gems per message is wild, when you only get 10?

The writing is really good and the system is really good too. It’s just a bit unfortunate that you can barely actually do any of the stuff because obtaining gems is such a slow process. And you need 7 for a single message. It’s free but it feels like it corners you into spending money, which, I guess that’s what they wanna do. It could be really great if you were able to talk more/be more active with it, but I’ve just been logging in every day and saving up so I can have a longer conversation all at once. But hey, it’s still really good writing. Don’t know about the memory yet since it’s hard to test that atm.

I’ve tried a lot of different AI role play apps and this one is by far one of the best ever!
The REALLY crappy part about this game is having to pay to chat. And the system they use to take your credits in the story isn’t consistent, or make sense. And you should be able to acquire more tokens by watching adds and doing other stuff!

The ai is really good, as well as being highly descriptive, but the kicker is there’s no ads to keep talking except like every 30 minutes. You buy gems to talk and if I’m honest the prices are kinda ludicrous. I think the best way would to be having more frequent ads (I know how that sounds) so it’s faster than one sentence every hour or so

Look I understand the gem currency. You need to make money. But don’t you also make money when people watch the ads? I would be fine with the gems if the ads weren’t limited per day. I’d watch ads if it continuously gave free gems. Please take the limit off of the adds. It would make HeyU so much better.

I love HeyU a lot. It has things other ai apps don’t have, but the only reason why I’m giving it only 4 stars is because of the gem system. I don’t understand why you should lock the conversations behind gems. It a real mood killer when I can’t talk to the ai characters after I run out of gems.

I love the characters it’s very interactive but I see a few problems
1. There’s no filter system so you just kinda gotta go by names.
2. I don’t mind ads for rewards but don’t make a daily limit and add a clock system tell you the cooldown for the ads

HeyU is not bad, fast responses for the amount of words it spits out, its like a light novel sometimes, depending on the character you choose theres almost a storyline to follow if you want.

The only issue i have is that chatting costs gems, which can only be bought with micro-transactions or earned from a daily reward weekly “calendar” each day giving you more gems, my issue is that you get say, 8 messages TOTAL PER DAY.

Why not make the wait shorter instead of a whole 24 hours for like 8 messages??

So far I’m really enjoying my time on HeyU . You can’t create your own characters, but I really don’t mind that as there is plenty here to explore. Characters stay with their personas really well. Most other apps I’ve tried feel like they adapt to your conversation. So if you talk the same way they all end up becoming they same generic experience regardless of picture of back story. The one draw back would be not having a way to keep important points about your own character you play when conversing locked in. Memory is limited of course with these things so if you don’t bring it up every so often the AI forgets. It would be nice to have a way to define important points about yourself for the AI to remember. But other than that I really enjoy how it feels like I’m actually talking to a different person with each character I try.

I’ve been using this app for a while now and love it over other apps similar, the Ai is much more detailed and keeps the characters appropriate personalities in line and makes the roleplays extremly fun! I do admit that I’ve spent money to keep taking but I’ve also saved up to chat all at once. The only issue that I have now is that the ads that this app are broken and if you wanted to double your gem income on the daily login you can’t anymore since you can’t leave the ad and backing out and going back in just makes you get your login again and either claim it or try the ad again(which doesn’t work). Other then that it’s an excellent app!

I’ll start by saying that these characters have some of the best responses of any AI I’ve interacted with. They stay in character, give lengthy and descriptive responses, and adapt very easily. While spending gems to send messages is kind of a let down, you can easily save up with the daily VIP and then use them. I come and go from HeyU, but recently I wanted to try it again by making a new account (I delete the old ones), however when I try to do so it gives me like red cancel sign and says “-35.” I’ve no idea what this means and would like to use HeyU again.

The chat is immersive. Bring your creative writing hat and it does a pretty good job of keeping track of the virtual world you create. It’s not going to pass the Turing test, but it is very good at making smart and relevant inferences. The voices are appealing and easy to engage. The natural language processor is forgiving to spelling errors. Use of the AI engine will cost you a pretty penny, so keep that in mind. But if paired creative writing in the erotica field is of interest, and you have the funds to pay for it, HeyU is an enjoyable partner.

Ai are amazing, very detailed, very expressive the majority of the times I send out a message you receive a long text back from a lot of these Ai chats and I cannot help but be satisfied by this. And let tell you, I went through probably 5 apps that does the same concept of talking to Ai character and non of them are as close to be as descriptive, as expressive and fun to interact with. HeyU is just that good in both quality and satisfaction.

I love HeyU . But there aren’t many anime or manga characters that I’d love to chat with. I have a suggestion for a few. For one I’d really love to see Kuroeda from plus-sized elf and maybe a few other characters from endless. But that’s just me. I appreciate your work! Thank you!
