YOUKU Drama Film Show Anime Reviews

I signed up for the yearly subscription because it was cheap and now I know why. On my computer I can only watch the first 5 minutes because mostly everything is VIP and I only have the standard subscription I tried contacting them them several times but no response I just o cancel my subscription and get a refund for the balance don’t want no excuses but they are a rip off $50 for the year and can mostly watch 5 minutes unless I upgrade to VIP

I accidentally got logged out and I am unable to get back in. I only had a user ID but no password so whenever I log in with my apple ID, it gives me a new user ID. I already emailed support but the response was to just use whatever account I used. I would like a refund if possible for the annual subscription I made.

I was hoping to enjoy some Chinese related shows with English subtitles, but YOUKUDramaFilmShowAnime does not display any text on the screen. There is an option that ask if you want to show subtitles, the font size and the language you want the subtitles in. I follow all the steps yet nothing gets displayed on the screen. It would be really helpful if this gets fixed quickly, and also it would be great if there were a frequently ask section where users questions could be answered

The new update finally fixed the issue with screen mirroring orientation problem but now the issue is when I mirror my iPhone screen to my Mac, the video on my Mac is slow and lags behind the normal speed. It’s frustrating that there are constantly issues with YOUKUDramaFilmShowAnime. I’ve already updated to the latest version and restarted my phone to see if this corrects the issue but still having the same problem. I’ve already reached out to the customer service email and they haven’t responded yet.

Just bought the quarterly subscription that had a promotion pricing, but won’t let me watch Till The End of The Moon. Literally skips the episodes after only 0:03. Poor app development… I am logged in and I did get a receipt for the subscription, not sure what’s wrong. Requested a refund since YOUKUDramaFilmShowAnime doesn’t work.

I just purchased a monthly VIP subscription and, it’s still asking me to join vip! So took my money then nothing. Should have read the reviews. I’m not the only one that had this problem. Update: they should make it easier to contact and get a reply from customer service, and, not blame the customer for doing something wrong. I shouldn’t have to read through other reviews to figure out what to do. It should be clear what you’re purchasing when you hit “purchase v.I.p subscription”. If there are different types, “full” and “guest”, as the response said, it should say that during purchase

I was told by their customer service that this issue would be fixed in September. It’s now October, and I can still only watch dramas through 1/4 of my iPad screen. Why is it so difficult to fix so we can watch full screen? Complete waste of my money for VIP status. The worst of all the apps. Customers are apparently a joke to them.

For a streaming App it does the bare minimum of being able to stream, search, and viewing history. It’s definitely missing a “favorites” feature to allow you to keep track of when shows that you regularly watch update. Other than that there is a need for better filtering/tagging but this really secondary. The bullet comments is a nice feature but it should also be consistent with the site and vice versa. As of now I like the content but the site/app really need more refinement.

I have now registered two different account where I purchased VIP memberships and YOUKUDramaFilmShowAnime still tells me purchase VIP membership in order to access the VIP content. I have reached out for help through the Feedback section and they told me to Recover Purchasing rights. I have done that multiple times for my two accounts with no success: my first account is an annual membership and my second is a quarterly membership. It is a problem. They are taking money without providing us what we pay for.

I bought the vip on my phone but can’t even watch on my iPad without having to sign up for new vip subscription. When clicking on Sign In with Apple it says authorization failed ??? If at least there’s a way to create a profile using my phone, then I could log in using my iPad without having to use my direct google, Facebook, or Apple

More money should be invested into YOUKUDramaFilmShowAnime! A rating of 2 stars out of 100 reviews is sad! The voice is always delayed, it freezes. It’s even worse when screen mirroring to my tv. Everything should be working smoothly especially if we’re paying for “VIP” benefits.

I signed up previously with my phone and linked wechat, but the only options for YOUKUDramaFilmShowAnime are facebook, google, and apple for login. I paid for VIP on that account and don’t want to make a new one. Thus I am locked out.

The screen mirroring on YOUKUDramaFilmShowAnime is horrible. There should be a casting option instead of mirroring. Also, when it’s mirroring it doesn’t fill the whole tv. I want to watch full screen on the tv not 70%. I have no issues with my other entertainment apps except for this one.

App on phone works good but still needs work. Needs on multiple devices so you can stream of different devices instead of having to cast or mirror to another device. Like an app on TV for example Apple TV. I can mirror to tv but that means needing to have two devices on just to watch the drama on bigger screen. Waste of battery power on my phone. Some dramas, not all have multiple different subtitles pop up like in the Maids Revenge and The Flames Daughter. Only need the one I select to pop up. It gets confusing and takes up too much of screen especially when the dialog gets long. Timing of subtitles is ok but sometimes it goes to fast to read. Need to have automatic skip intro and ending credits for each episode after first episode or make it an option. Don’t like to have to skip intro for every episode and click on next video just to skip ending credits. Would like it if it would just automatically go to the next episode. It will be easier for binge watching.

Great show selection (both dramas and anime), but very lacking compared to other alternatives like iqiyi and tencent video in terms of platform/ quality/usage. Videos are sometimes very laggy and skipping even a few seconds takes minutes to load. Might have to do with the fact I watch on 1080P, but then again I don’t have this problem with other platforms. Also, I’m not sure why but the monthly subscription isn’t available on YOUKUDramaFilmShowAnime . I had to make due with the quarterly sub for $12 but will definitely not be renewing.

Hi, now I can cast to my TV, but the captions are all messed up! It gets cut off at the bottom and it’s too small. I’ve tried fixing settings on my phone and TV, but I only get tiny captions that are cut off at the bottom 😡 Still not happy

With the new iOS 16.1 update, your app won’t display full screen on the iPad. Please correct the view aspect ratio for the iPad. It works fine on the iPhone but not the iPad. Even with the Orientation lock, it does NOT display FULL screen on iPad.

Could please fix YOUKUDramaFilmShowAnime so I don’t have to tap the screen every minute or so to keep it playing. I’ve never found an app of this type (Netflix, Viki, etc.) that made me continually tap the screen.

Also, I don’t see settings.

I hope when you update YOUKUDramaFilmShowAnime a search bar is added to YOUKUDramaFilmShowAnime . It’s hard to find a show that I know suppose to be on YOUKUDramaFilmShowAnime . I found season two finally but can’t find season one.

I don’t think YOUKUDramaFilmShowAnime is meant for iPad. It opens up okay, but the no fullscreen. And when you click on the show, the rotation for viewing is not upright. Not matter how you rotate it, it’ll be facing the other way…. 😢😢😢 obviously I would like to view it on bigger screen. Please update to fix this please. Thank you!

So I got the monthly payment thing for YOUKUDramaFilmShowAnime and umm… I was watching the new drama “Everyone loves me” and I bought the monthly payment 1 day before the 18th episode came out, I just tried to watch the 18th episode when it said “move to episode 18,” as I had finished episode 17 before watching the 18 episode and now it is saying I need to pay for “VIP” like do I have to wait a day in order to watch it? I’m not paying for VIP! Honestly I’m really sad that I waited 8 hours after school just to watch this episode! Like can I ever watch it?

This seems to be the only place to get the attention of the developers. Signed up for a year’s VIP subscription and as of today (5 days after purchase) I now have access to VIP. Asks to switch accounts which is super confusing. But understand it was apple log in that matched payment. YOUKUDramaFilmShowAnime needs more updating to make it more user friendly. Not sure if it’ll be worth it but with one year here we go!

I really enjoy YOUKUDramaFilmShowAnime as it has so many great contents… however, why does YOUKUDramaFilmShowAnime not available on smart tv? I think you should make it available to download on smart TVs or smart devices… so that ppl can also enjoy them in multiple devices … not just on their phones ….

Bought VIP and still don’t have access. Can’t click on profile. Not even sure how to request refund. Mobile app not user friendly when it comes to account information and navigation. This either doesn’t work or is a scam.

I like that it automatically sizes to my iPad without having to Lock Screen in settings. Also like that I can preview other movies etc. in the horizontal orientation. 😊

THANK YOU Youku for bringing us the tv app. You guys did a good job! I love it!! So far everything works good. In future updates, please add different font size so we have the option to make the subtitles bigger size. Also, the black background for the subtitles is distracting, please consider to remove the black background. Putting a black border on the words will be nice. Please look at how Tencent do their subtitles, it’s very nice.. Please continue to bring us dramas & 3D anime. Thank you.

I have had the YOUKU (Iphone/Ipad) app since it was first dropped on the Apple Store and the improvements have been steady, which has allowed YOUKUDramaFilmShowAnime to improve in user friendliness and ease. I have always been a fan of YOUKU shows and the improvements have only made the experience better.

I have utilized the apps feedback options multiple times and YOUKU (for most cases) have sent a personal response showing they took my feedback into consideration. I have even noticed some of version updates having some of the changes I commented on. I have other Chinese drama apps and I find the YOUKU app to be competitive with these.

For a while the iphone/Ipad app disappeared from the Apple Store, but now it is back with a TV option (AppleTV) as a bonus! So far the TV app does not disappoint, especially since it is newly released. I look forward to the improvements on the future versions and will continue to provide feedback to help with its growth. I am excited about having the YOUKU show content on my TV screen via YOUKUDramaFilmShowAnime instead of screensharing from my Iphones or iPads YOUKU app. - Melanie A.

I am giving five stars because YOUKUDramaFilmShowAnime works great now AND their customer support is awesome with a quick response. Keep up the good work! Chinese entertainment just keeps getting more popular here in the U.S. and I like having options to watch my shows.

I deleted YOUKUDramaFilmShowAnime while back since it was not good at all for its users but I downloaded it today to watch the Till The End of the moon and I. Can say it really has improved.

All these bad reviews are people with iPads and whatnot? So I can’t speak to that but I just watch it on my phone and it’s working like any other app. So I can stay caught up with the latest episodes.

About 2 years before YOUKUDramaFilmShowAnime was very bad developed, a slow interface, missing settings, bad audio quality, etc… but now after the launched YOUKUDramaFilmShowAnime again, it seems very good and smooth. Good job!
