Reading a story “My Friends and My Bully,” basic werewolf story until Ch 25 & it suddenly sounded REALLY familiar. Sure enough, names have been changed, but events & even the chapter they are occurring in are basically the same! I finished reading it under the title “My Secret, My Bully, My Mates” by Ms L on ReadNovel Good Novel a couple months ago. Here it is “ongoing.” Hmmm.

So I broke down and “bought” one of their books. I bought $30 in tokens so I could read the book. That only got me through about half of it. And honestly, by that point it had become derivative so I certainly wasn’t willing to purchase another $30 in tokens to finish reading it. You’re much better off to just buy your books on kindle or nook. Or check them out from the library on libby.

Let me say that. Yes. I am an idiot. I know this. They got me hooked on 2 books that I have to read to completion.

But ReadNovel. Unlike every one of the others. Is a SCAM!!!! It’s a huge money grab. You get a few measly points everyday but to unlock chapters you have to get your streak for the whole week just to read one!

You get these tickets that transfer to coins over time. But it’s a looooong wait and it doesn’t give you much. There’s no way to win with ReadNovel.

They designed it so you HAVE to spend Money and lots of it. Unless you’re already hooked on a book DO NOT GET ReadNovel. ITS NOT WORTH IT.

I purchased the $20 point pack where you’re supposed to get like 680 points everyday & I haven’t gotten any and I’ve had it almost a whole month. In order to contact support you also have to download a whole different app which is stupid because if the purchases aren’t working properly you shouldn’t allow them to be made.

I got really into my book but I had to keep purchasing coins to read each chapter. I have spent over $100 and I’m only half through the book. I wish I could finish this book but this is too expensive. I’d rather pay for the book for $50 or have a monthly payment. This is ridiculous. Don’t get sucked into book unless you are willing to pay over $200 for the book.

I waited for my 15 bonus and when I claimed it the 15 never went to my bonus then it said get 35 bonus immediately after logging in which I did but I never got my 35 ReadNovel keeps lying and no one is responding or doing anything about it

I spent money and never received bonus that I was supposed to. Support has not worked for me either. Super annoying. Pretty mad I wasted money on this.

Where are the details about purchases? Nowhere in ReadNovel details does it give ANY info about the financial details.
How often must you pay?
How much do you get for your money?
Is there a recourse for purchase errors?

For instance, my first purchase says "5 coins" needed to continue the chapter.
• this includes reading pages that were included in the preview, so I'm already paying for material that was free.
• the smallest option was 500 coin for $4.99
..... the Apple Pay symbol shows "+32%"
..... the PayPal symbol shows "+30%"
..... so I would pay $1.60 or $1.50 extra (or more) EACH TIME I use a protected payment system?
• this payment would allow me to continue reading, but how much? One chapter? Two? How many pages (chapters are SHORT)?

Previous experience with a web novel app showed that chapters get shorter as you get deeper into the story. They are short but reasonable in the preview. Then they get shorter until they are only a page or two long. That way they are dinging you for "coin" every few minutes.

You have NO WAY TO KNOW what you are getting when you pay.

This should be illegal. It will be interesting to see if this review actually posts.

And, it's too bad, because it looks like a good story.

I will go to the store and buy a book rather than spend more than an expensive book will cost on your ridiculous app.

Every book I have started is great but I think it’s unfair that you have to pay for chapters you’ve read for free on Facebook. The point system is confusing and you can watch all the videos and not get enough coins or bonuses to read the next chapter. I truly hate to delete ReadNovel but it’s a total rip off. I would not waste my time downloading it.

ReadNovel is horrible. It charges so much to just get through a few chapters.. then once you close ReadNovel you have to then scroll back through to where you left off as if you never read anything.

I read a small sample of a book and downloaded ReadNovel thinking I could at least read a little bit more. Well, ReadNovel just repeats what was already a free sample and doesn’t let you ready a word more without paying money FOR EVERY CHAPTER! Can you even imagine how much they will want to charge you to read a full book? ReadNovel is a complete SCAM!

I paid 1.99 for 200 coins, I was on chapter 6. Should have lasted until chapter 12 of each chapter was 30 points. Only went to chapter 9 meaning each chapter is about 60 coins each. I’m on chapter 12 and have spent about 20 bucks. Not even award winning authors charge as much for hard copies as these apps do.

I just downloaded ReadNovel to read a book I saw advertised… I made a $4.99 purchase and they charged me $16. Went to customer service to resolve the issue and I have to download another app to get things sorted…. Not great.

Who wants to pay $50 to read an online book? What a ripoff!!!!

I mean really, I may have been stupid enough, but I spent $50.00 to read a book and not even finish. Please this ridiculous.

i have one issue with ReadNovel. the bonus and points system. it says you will get rewards at random. basically u can get 5 of each or up to 20 bonus and 225 points. or only one can be earned. i feel like a person should at the MINIMUM earn at least enough for a chapter for a book. some people can’t afford 5$-20$

I can only read when I have free coins. One screen says I need 30 points to unlock the next chapter and I have 35 but when I go to unlock it the next screen says I need 40 points. Which one is it? I love to read and it’s a good app but if it there are conflicts as to how many points I need then I won’t be using ReadNovel.

I don’t understand the points. What it’s the point of earning these points if you can’t do anything with them. 100 points every 24+ hours to convert to 20 points. That’s not enough to purchase a chapter. And the daily points aren’t enough. There needs to be a change because not everyone can be affording to pay $5-$20+ every 3-4 chapters. I love the books on ReadNovel but at this point the way this system is; it’s not worth it.

Why is it not available on both iPhone and iPad?

Could someone please explain how to redeem the points acquired by reading. There is no instructions stating how to use them, or what they’re even earned for.

Love reading this book. I wish that they would treat the Omegas better.

Great app overall great books, and easy ways to earn your points to read the next chapter. I recommend ReadNovel I am in love love
