My Duolingo Italian streak is nearly 800, but I’ve been struggling because I have no one to actually speak Italian with. this app has been great so far. The tutor is SO helpful. I love that it doesn’t tell you how to respond and that the AI adapts so well to your responses. It feels so natural. I do wish that I could review scenarios I’ve already done. I like to take screenshots of lessons so I can take notes to study later, but when Superfluent ends a conversation, the “let’s end here” message hides the final response. If there IS a way for me to review scenarios, I haven’t been able to find it. Also, the scenario where you make a restaurant reservation asks if you want the confirmation emailed to you, and I said “[name] [4-digit number] @ [domain]” but the AI only picked up the name. When I had to repeat what it said in Italian, it kept saying I was pronouncing it wrong even when I used another app to translate the number. So the voice recognition could use a bit of fine-tuning. All that being said, for a newer app with a solo developer, this app already has a lot going for it, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it improves over time.

This a awesome for a free app. The only drawbacks are 1. There are sometimes suggested words without translations. I occasionally have to use Google Translate if I don’t get the context. 2. It requires too much interaction by phone manipulation. I often drive long distances and it would be great to have a simulated conversation, as if the person were in the car with me.

Otherwise, this is the best immersion app I’ve tried. I’ve used Duolingo and another. (Can’t recall the name. Started with an M.)

So far, Superfluent has been great. I understand Spanish pretty well after 1000+ hours of comprehensible input, but I need to practice my speaking. Superfluent puts me in everyday scenarios that require relevant output, forcing me to think on my feet and maintain the conversation in Spanish, but without the stress of talking to a real person. I like that it allows me to practice for about an hour a day with the free version, that the company hasn’t sent me any spam, and that I get immediate feedback. I’ve had some minor issues, such as being corrected for using more colloquial language or not having the AI always correctly pick up my speech, but neither issue is holding me back on my usage. This is a really useful app, as an auxiliary to other methods.

this app is a great app for practicing conversations when you don’t have a partner and need specific feedback to improve your speaking skills. I love the metrics - delay in response time, words spoken per minute, typical response length, and percentage of responses that need corrections. I love that corrective feedback gives the opportunity fix grammar and repeat the modeled phrase. Definitely an app worth using.

What a great app to practice speaking French. It has one of the best AI conversation partners I’ve encountered so far. The only thing I’d like to change is to be able to turn off the text, so I have to focus on listening skills rather than reading.

I’ve been stagnating on Duolingo for a while (852 days as of today) and this has blown my mind. It’s a very helpful tool, correcting grammar and vocab while giving actual explanations.
10/10, please don’t go the way of the green bird

This is more different than Duolingo or other language learning apps, I feel it’s a lot more interactive and fluid, allowing for many different answers and responses. It also allows for your responses to be updated. Love it!!

I’ve used other language learning apps and feel like I have a solid baseline of Spanish, but am completely lost when I hear my extended family speaking it fluently. Superfluent is exactly what I needed to help learn the true conversational style of the language. Love the use of AI to automate and teach conversations

Superfluent has allowed me to seemingly break a ceiling I had hit in learning French. My objective is to achieve professional fluency for my career. My main obstacle was oral communication and pronunciation, and I couldn’t break that ceiling with other apps. In just a couple of weeks, I have already noticed improvement. Super Fluent is amazing to learn and brush up on conversational language! Before my trip to Italy, I was able to quickly learn conversation tools to help me order, greet people, get directions and more! Further, I took many years of Spanish in school and Super Fluent has taught me so much more about how to actually have natural conversations than I learned in school and other apps!

I’ve never seen anything like this! Real-time conversation practice. You talk, and Superfluent responds. I have yet to say anything it didn’t respond appropriately to! Plus, the Apple give you suggestions on how to improve what you’ve said and let you practice it. One really useful feature is that you can play back the recording of what you’ve said. Do this!

I am so blown away by Superfluent. I wish I could give it 6 stars. I have spoken conversational Spanish for most of my life, but as I’ve gotten older it has gotten rusty. I’ve tried Duolingo to get back on top of it but it’s tedious and doesn’t ever apply to real life. this app on the other hand is incredible. In just my first conversation I learned a relevant term that I already have applied to my life, and as I keep using it I can feel my fluency returning. The feedback is excellent, and the specification of Spanish vs Mexican Spanish is really great for me as I am going to live in Spain next year, and would like to loosely know the dialect. Again, this is the greatest language app I have ever experienced. I didn’t know this was possible. Highly HIGHLY recommend.

I am truly blown away by Superfluent you've created. I've been using it for intermediate French sessions for about a week now, and it's amazing how much more confident and capable I feel already in conversation. I've been studying French for decades off and on, and am a strong level B1, but I've always felt too embarrassed at making mistakes and sounding like an idiot to feel confident speaking. But conversing with the Ai is reassuring - no need to feel embarrassed - and the support and explanations it gives are far superior to anything else I've tried.

Example: last night I learned a new word for "please" in Duolingo: "Veuillez, which frankly didn't make sense to me. I queried the this app tutor about the word, and instantly got an explanation that clarified the use of the word perfectly..

Superfluent is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I’ve studied Spanish for a long time, but I’ve struggled speaking because I have little exposure to daily conversations opportunities and get too nervous when it comes time to talk. This allows me to practice daily, at whatever time works best for me, in a non-judgmental environment, and get real-time feedback. Wish I would’ve found it sooner!

this app has been so great to work on my intermediate German! It puts me in real life situations and gives me instant feedback as well as an AI tutor you can ask questions. This is such a great app because it forces me to practice speaking. And I feel nervous like I would in a real life situation which I think is really good because I can practice being nervous and speaking when the stakes are low. And I get clear and helpful feedback to improve! It’s seriously an excellent language tool!!

I love Superfluent! Its definitely improved my conversational abilities, and given me a better way to practice speaking. Its been harder for me to do scenarios because there’s some vocabulary I dont have yet, it would be nice to get a short list of useful words at the beginning of a scenario, at least for the a1-a2 levels. I understand that this ap is for more intermediate learners however, which is why I would still recommend for anyone who’s trying to learn a language!

Wow, I’ve been learning Spanish for 35 years and Superfluent is a game changer! It’s so well designed and easy to use. The AI chat helps you overcome the fear of speaking or saying something wrong. The corrections of your responses are excellent because it helps you understand what you should say instead to sound more natural. I also love the tutor function because you can ask it specific questions on random things that are confusing to you. 10/10 recommend! Best tool I’ve used.

I’ve got a solid baseline of my target language but was really missing that live interaction feeling. Superfluent’s interface is easy to use and has a very interactive AI that works wonders to create real life situations and conversation. The AI tutor is also an amazing resource to have and can answer almost any question you have. Very excited to see how far they can take this. When Portal went big and started charging they gave their beta audience free access to the full app. Would love to see something like that happen when you guys go big. Will be telling all language learning friends about Superfluent for sure.

So far I love Superfluent! In four days, I have already recommended it to three people, and I will likely recommend it to more. I needed practice speaking, and this is just what I needed. The AI they use is quite intelligent, and it’s responded well to what I say. I love the grammatical help it gives when I speak incorrectly. It doesn’t just tell me if I say something wrong but tells me why and gives me an option of what I could say instead. The conversations are useful and practical, like what you would actually talk about in real life. I love how it encourages and rewards more complexity and accuracy. I was even able to bring over my Duolingo streak, which was nice. I’m so glad I started using it!

I’ve been trudging through Duolingo thinking I had a pretty good grasp of Italian. Superfluent showed me how little I actually knew and explained exactly what I was doing wrong in my sentence formations. Thank you!
