MN Lottery Reviews

This is the most useless of any state lottery app that I’ve used. It’s actually embarrassing that Minnesota thinks this is worth promoting. You can look up lottery numbers to see if you’ve won, but it won’t tell you how much you’ve won. For a lottery app to not include that kind of basic essential information is unforgivable.

Edit: I read the developer’s response. You must create an account with MNLottery in order to scan any tickets. Why? We are inundated with data breach notifications from sites all of the time. Why do I have to trust you with my personal data just to check a ticket? Why won’t your app tell me how much the prize is for matching 3 lotto numbers? Your web site does. I maintain that this is a useless app in comparison to what other states are publishing. You can defend your app all you want but it’s still sub par.

A lottery app should NOT REQUIRE a personal information account just to simply scan a lottery ticket. This is a major invasion of privacy! Will the data be sent to the IRS in order to Tax lottery winnings? What if I scan a friend’s ticket? No other State Lottery app requires a registered personal information account to scan a ticket. I will only use MNLottery if you remove the registered account requirement. Otherwise…delete!

Simple as that it’s impossible and it also has an error even in manual entry, you’d think a lottery app would work better especially since it deals with money but it just doesn’t work.

This is the dumbest app. All i want to do is check the winning numbers on my tickets yet its difficult to find a simple list of winning numbers. Scanner works half the time. Why on earth do I have to sign in with my email to simply scan my tickets? Its all so stupid.

The is a disaster. You are required to register but after putting in your phone number there is no submit or next button. No way to complete registration. Take this back to the 5th grade developer class and let them fix it for you.

Downloaded MNLottery last night.

This morning I tried to open it, got the pop up about enabling notifications, I don’t want them so I clicked on that option and the screen went blank.
I guess you can’t use MNLottery unless you want annoying banners! No thanks. I’ll use my browser to check my tickets.

Love the idea and potential capabilities.
Forget trying to register. ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE!!!!! You can not type in your birth date nor city and state. The only option is to scroll THROUGH EVERY SINGLE CITY IN THE STATE?!?!?!? Main issue though…I COULDNT GET TO MY CITY or State (WI). It kept resetting to “A”.
I have an iPhone 15, so it’s not the age of the phone.
I’ll check back. If they can fix the bugs. I’d probably like MNLottery .

It seems like every time I try to use MNLottery I have to log back in again. And half of the time the “system is down” and it doesn’t work. It is more of a hassle than it is worth.

The whole thing needs to be rebuilt with a new team that knows what they are doing. The website too. The account creation flow was designed by someone that doesn’t know anything about proper onboarding a new user. The errors are many. The access to data is minimal. Wow! I didn’t think that in todays age of mobile development that this terrible of an app could be made. I am guessing that someone is pocketing the project’s budget and not hiring senior staff.

Why do I need an account to check numbers? I appreciate your response. Didn’t know about the 2nd chance option, but still think you should allow people to check for a winning ticket without having to create an account.

Unfortunately the best aspect of what MNLottery could be doesn’t even function properly. Hopefully this gets fixed sooner than later and then I’ll update the review.

Error messages are a constant. I guess this could be expected with a new app. When it is functioning properly I have to say, it is a rather disjointed and sloppy look interface. Who built MNLottery, sixth grade weekend computer camp kids? Oh, sorry kids - I know you can build a better app than this one.

Hoping the developer adds functionality to be able to buy lottery tickets from MNLottery . Other than that. It’s nice to finally have an app to do many of the things other lottery apps have been doing for years

Pretty good app. Easy to use. Love being able to scan my tickets right at home. That way I don’t have to walk in to the retailer with losers😎. The one thing I do not like is when you choose your own numbers for power ball etc it is awkward handing your phone to the cashier they scan it give it back then you have to find the next ticket and hand it back. Otherwise I love it.

Very convenient app for quickly checking scratches offs and entering the 2nd chance drawing. Would be nice if lotto tickets could be scanned using MNLottery .

MNLottery worked great for me, it’s pretty sad how negative people can be in some of these reviews especially when it is a free app. But that’s Minnesota nice for you. Thanks developers have a good day

Sweeeeeet about time I can check my stack of tickets to see if I missed anything without having to run to the store , I absolutely love that concept. I read the reviews before I downloaded and for me everything ran smooth. I started with scanning two winners multiple times and every time it was correct. So far I’ve made it through most of my scratch offs and have had no problems or glitches. I can’t wait to explore more and see what else I can do. Thank you guys !

99% of the time it will not let me login. Problem was solved on my phone. Rating changed.

Just installed, without issue. Used it to scan a bunch of scratch-offs to verify winners and losers, and it worked great. Fast response on scans, also used it to enter 2nd chance drawings easily.

Didn't have a problem entering registration data so not sure what some of the others are doing .

Happy to see the lottery offering useful tech!
