I’ve been forced to use the new app for about two weeks now that the old app isn’t showing live updates. BusTram is terrible. The UX isn’t user friendly and the features that made BusTram accessible are all gone. There was hardly a reason to update it. This is coming from a digital native in their mid-20s, I’m not an older, tech averse user. Nothing on BusTram is intuitive, it refreshes instantly if you close it, live updates are a pain to find, it refreshes in the middle of a journey, it won’t actually save my travel history, and it doesn’t even have all of the locations in Edinburgh available to search. Currently, I use the old app to plan my journey and only open the new app for live updates on bus arrivals. I hope BusTram isn’t included in the reason fares go up when they inevitably do; there’s no way anyone paid good money to develop it and if that is the case, you (just like everyone else using this terrible app) have been shafted.
This is a big downgrade from the previous app. Just add the take me home button back.
BusTram is much more modern than the previous offering. I also appreciate the tickets being in one app.
BUT there’s no point in any of this if the bus times are unusable. The departure times aren’t presented in any recognizable order (I would expect it to be soonest to latest) and it leaves some departures out. This is unacceptable.
As an aside, it would be ideal to have trip planner default to current location for departure…
Dreadful update. I’ve deleted it and use the Google map. It’s unbelievable how someone can think it’s an improvement. Have they actually tried using it? All you want, as it was before, is to be able to see the next buses to where you’re going. In order. Pretty simple. I used to use it every day. Idiotic.
