It says you can do everything, but it is a lie. I could not do what the purpose of PDFGear is, EDIT. I only had options to annotate, organize files and fill & sign. Why call it an editor when you can’t edit your files? I don’t know where all these supposed good ratings are from, but this thing is trash. Uninstalled!

for some reason when I open PDFs in PDFGear and do editing and annotating a few different times, and save the file to iCloud Drive, eventually a password will be added to the file randomly, and I can no longer access any of the data or the file. PDFGear would be great if it didn't ruin my files.

I use this on the PC and it’s great, figured I’d add it to my iPad. However, PDFGear is a buggy nightmare on the iPad. It fails to open documents, can’t move, delete, or rename documents. Makes it basically useless. I’d give it zero stars until they ensure that an app on the Apple Store actually works with apple devices.

Trying to insert a video into a PDF. Online tutorial claims your app can do this. In fact, your app cannot do this. Built-in AI is garbage. Asked how to do this, and it says that all it can do is display PDF files. What was the point of that exactly? What a waste.

Developer, I honestly don't want to hear from you unless it is to recommend an app that can actually embed a video file into a PDF. Please don't tell me to reach out to your team that will then never reply to my messages. Either tell me how to embed a video file into a PDF using your app, or close your mouth.

There is no conversion of images to PDF

I am so grateful that I found PDFGear. It’s great for making notes on online books. If your a student you would surely benefit from this. An issue I did encounter was one of my pdf got corrupted and lost all my notes, so be careful about that and ALWAYS have a back up for your notes.

if you want to add annotation its good but i tried to fill text boxes in a PDF form using "fill&sign" , but whenever I click a text box i just get a pop up box saying "Copy, Delete"

Install an additional second app from this manufacturer. So far I really like everything. Thank you!

Since there isn’t Preview on iOS this is the best thing going!

Excellent app for those that just need simple features.

PDFGear is amazing!!! Never before could I edit, organize, and make much needed corrections to PDF’s without opening my wallet. Adobe is a great product for their pro version but the choice was always send my kids to college or purchase Adobe pro. PDFGear takes that choice away and provides a clean and user friendly interface. I’m telling everyone with Apple to download and ditch the paid version. The Mac version is amazing for MacBook as well! Keep it up!

My only request is to please port over the desktop feature that allows the editing of password locked PDFs. Other than that, amazing app. Definitely the best free PDF editor application!

This is the best free app you can use pdf files and no charge. Unlimited edit, fill, and sign. Easy to use and so user friendly. Can’t ask for anything more. No need to download other apps and pay subscription. It’s free.

For my purposes, this is way easier for me to use.

I love this PDF reader and the AI chat. I use it for all of my class readings. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a robust PDF reader.

This is free and the same power and features as Adobe Acrobat and has no ads??? If I could pay for this product I would, because it is much better than purchasing an equally good product as a subscription.

What an amazing app! PDF Gear is so EASY to use, every function is right there at your fingertips under Toolset. Want to convert and merge png screenshots to a pdf? No problem. OCR? No problem. This is the easiest and most powerful app for PDF I have ever used. Oh and it’s free, for now.

It’s 2024 and Adobe is charging $230 a year to edit pdf’s. I thought this was outrageous and went down the rabbit hole to find a reliable alternative. this app seems to be a clear winner with app, Mac and pc support. Thank you!

I really like it when I can edit and type on it PDFGear have a lot of stuff I got a suggestion for you and add a converter to anything example are google docs and word PDF

PDFGear does an excellent job of handling pdf documents. It is very fast.

Got tired of searching and searching for a good PDF, reader and editor that wasn’t full of subscriptions and high costs. I am super happy with this app.

You may honestly be a saint. To have almost** all the same capabilities as Adobe Acrobat, in a clean and intuitive application, amazing. 10/10 gents truly!!

**Additional info for developer, maybe this might be of assistance:

I said “almost all” because the only capability missing is redaction. Currently all that is available is a annotate and highlight in black function, but if someone selects all (CTRL+A) and copies(CTRL+C) the text, and then pastes it elsewhere, the “redacted” info populates. This is because the annotation simply covers the text with a shape layer. Flattening the PDF did not work either.

But! On the bright side, I found a quick workaround. Annotate in black, then screenshot, then save the image as a pdf.

PDFGear runs smoothly on my ipad air 2 (2014). It opens any pdf smoothly and instantly while adobe is struggling and taking 10s of seconds to open small pdfs. I said on the old ipad. I haven’t tested other features yet. But even for reading it takes you directly to the file (explorer). PDFGear is small, robust, instant, clear and concise. I loved it so much. Superb!

But such small number of reviews, I don’t get it! Since everything is free, it must be popular at least among some portion of PDFGear user community! Keep up the good work!

I heard about PDFGear from ai (Apple Insider). They talked very positively about it. I downloaded it yesterday and I am going to check it out. I have been able to merge 3 PDF files with it and it has also accessed my pdf folder. So far it looks good with many features to investigate. I might just start using it instead of Apple’s Preview, my current PDF app.

It’s always a pleasure when an app performs as advertised, it’s even more satisfying when an app exceeds expectations, which this app does!

The layout is very different from the others, but it does not take long to get use to it. I love how you can highlight and copy what you want from an ocr. I also find add text a better experience. And the duplicate of a text, auto paste just below is a great feature.

This is the only app I have ever felt the need to write a review for. It has genuinely made my college workload load more manageable and efficient! I told all my friends about PDFGear so they can stop paying subscriptions for far worse services.

This application is not opening in my iPhone, but it is opening and working in my Windows PC. I rated PDFGear because it is opening in my Windows PC and it’s a very good App.

PDFGear (on PC and Mac) is awesome. Stunning and accurate in its efficacy. I just downloaded it on my iPad but if it maintains its functionality across platforms? This is going to be “beautiful.”

This software saves me a lot of time reading and allows me to focus on the main areas of interest for my research.

Ive tried a number of them that have a catch or a cost or cumbersome to use. This one is the perfect fit. Meets all my needs!
