Great concept, but not very useful in the USA unless you live in a major city, and even then expect only a fraction of local places to be listed. Outside the USA it is completely useless. The developers need to work harder to add more locations instead of relying on their paying users to add them. I make this negative review in kindness, because I really would like this to be a massive, global database of healthy food, and hope this is helpful criticism.

This is no reflection on the use of Maize … I’m sure it works well. Maize was featured today, 3/6/24 as free on App Advice. However, despite their “easy” instructions, I cannot figure out! There is supposed to be no charges for the lifetime version but where is that option? It said to unlock the paywall tap “Unlock Locavore”, “view other plans”.. then select the “Lifetime $0.00” option to redeem… I would like Maize but I can’t seem to find these options 🤨

this app is a fantastic app for discovering local, farm-fresh food options. I love the variety of businesses featured and the emphasis on sustainability. The locavore features are especially useful for finding hidden gems. Highly recommended for anyone passionate about healthy eating!

Was initially disappointed that my area wasn’t included but developers responded to the feedback quickly and corrected that issue and began finding companies in the area. Great job developers!

Using the this app app helps out my family of 5 find restaurants in our area tremendously. We have a few food allergies and value locally sourced food so we are thrilled that this app exists to find delicious food that works for our entire family. Thank you, this app!!

Maize is the start of something really special. We are just starting to understand the connections between sustainably grown foods and health but Maize will make it so easy to do it all. Easy to use and a great mission. Can’t wait to see what this company and app do next.

If you're into eating healthy while dining out, Maize is a total lifesaver. It's super simple to use and has helped me find restaurants that care about where their ingredients come from. I'd definitely suggest giving it a try if you're all about good food and good choices!

I’m always looking for new/better locations that provide fresh locally grown food, with this app it makes it a lot easier to locate these locations no matter where I am. I do love the map setting because it allow me to visualize my location compared to what’s around me.

Maize is pretty cool. It has a map that displays verified locally sourced farm-fresh businesses, farmers markets, breweries, wineries, restaurants, and farms within a radius. Where I live there are no farms around, so I chose my closest city that I visit for my results and found some locally sourced places to shop, eat and drink while I'm there. I have friends in other major cities, so I easily changed my search results to their location and found that they have way more results, but the population is way higher. The change of location option is great to plan a trip ahead of time to see where I am going to purchase my food and drinks I can only expect with time and the help of sharing and word of mouth, that Maize will only get better with its results.

Grateful to have found Maize! Ever since the pandemic began I’ve been looking for ways to support my local small businesses and community produced farm-to-table options to help out as best as I can, and Maize makes it super easy to find my closest places to visit. It even has helped me discover new ones regardless of my typical fixed home location for when I’m out and about thanks to its by city search features. Really appreciate having this resource to make it much easier to discover places and keep it all organized for my next grocery shopping trip - hope more small businesses sign up to have their listings featured too :)

They offer several types of business types and you can get just about any information you'd be looking for in Maize as well. Been looking for something like this for forever. I take a lot of long weekend trips and it’s such a timesaver to just open Maize and find great healthy food options no matter where I am. Really like how transparent the criteria is for what gets included in Maize so I don’t have to worry about whether or not I’m getting a quality meal. Also, it’s just fun learning how many awesome local options there are out there and it feels good supporting real people in so many different communities. 10/10 👏🏻

this app is a great app that helps the user find healthy and organic food/drinks based on their location. These foods/drinks are coming from trusted farmers. Also it shows you exactly where the restaurant and market is getting their food from. If desired you can engage with others to find out what recipes they use and you can also share your recipe’s as well. Maize is very organized and easy to use. I would definitely recommend it to everyone that wants healthy and trustworthy food.
