I purchased yesterday this app-AI for a year and it only worked for one session. Today I was unable to use it because it crashed all the time. I would restart my iPhone and it would crash again. This happened like 6 times in a row. So I feel cheated with this useless app. Couldn’t contest the charge anywhere and looks like the only thing I could do was cancel the service due on Nov 30th, 2025. Do not spend your hard earned money on Langotalk. It is a total waste of money.

honestly, i think Langotalk is really unique and super helpful, especially for something like vietnamese which has very few useful resources. my main problem, though, is the price. $80 a year to talk to an AI chat bot??? I don’t think so…

i was really excited while using one of the chat bots that i was able to ask to use specifically the southern accent, but i just can’t justify spending that much money on an AI based app. sorry not sorry 😭

I’m a jnr in college and have been learning Spanish since the 7th grade. I wanted to continue my studies in college but unfortunately I do not have enough time to take classes due to my majors. Langotalk does not allow really anything for free and it’s not marketed that way. If I knew how expensive it was going to be I would not have bothered trying it out. But if you have the money Langotalk is a great way to learn.

I like Langotalk because it gives you speaking practice for Japanese, which duolingo doesn’t. however it’s very buggy and I can’t complete scenarios because of a constant “connection error”. I’ve restarted my phone, reset my network, switched networks and it’s still the same problem. I lose progress and it’s very discouraging to continue because of how buggy it is.

I really like the concept of Langotalk and excited to see where it goes. I will say Langotalk is extremely buggy and some of the conversations aren’t realistic. Like the fictional animals I’m always talking about? I don’t really talk about unicorns day-to-day.. also sometimes on the multiple choice questions, it’s give you the correct answer multiple times but how do I know which one to pick? I don’t feel like trick questions are effective with language learning. Any kind of learning really..
And lastly, If I go backwards to redo a conversation, it locks all the lessons I’ve completed after that reviewed lesson, which is a bit frustrating.
But overall, great potential!!

Hi Ariel, I think this is an amazing app! It makes learning a language incredibly interactive. I would say my most current feedback is to make the DIY lessons go somewhere. When I give prompts to create a lesson, it creates a lesson. But then when I try to access the lesson, it just keeps loading. Keep up the great work in continuing to use Langotalk. I think it has the potential to be huge.

I’ve had this app for about a year now, and when it started out it was on an internet browser only. Having Langotalk makes a great difference however it needs some changes. Copying and pasting for a translation is very tedious if you’re just starting out learning a new language. I also wish that if you click on a single word for its meaning it would translate immediately and not use the internet, as pushing that much data slows the usability down and makes it that much more tedious.

Maybe off-line translations? :) Langotalk is also a great pair with Rosetta Stone.

Honestly, Langotalk is brilliant, it’s very fun and interactive. But, I do have a few bones to pick with Langotalk . First, you have to email them to cancel your subscription, and I’m not even sure if my subscription got cancelled. And secondly, I wish when you use the translation option, it would put it in hiragana/katakana so you could actually read it off, because I don’t know Kanji so I’m not really learning what I’m trying to say.

First up, I haven’t used it much, so it could be user error, but it doesn’t seem to matter too much what level I set myself at, as the AI I’m chatting with seems to get a bit too excited and just runs away without me, so I end up just using the translator button so see what it said to me. Also, the feedback button doesn’t really tell me what I said in full. I think that would be nice. It tells me things like, “that was pretty good!” And suggests full sentences I could use for a different feel, but doesn’t actually say, “You said blah blah blah”, so I don’t know exactly how accurate I was. There are other little errors here and there, but overall, it’s quite engaging and fun and I’m excited to use it more!

It’s unfortunate there is not a ton you can do without paying, but I mean I get it its a product… I feel like if I paid for it then I would really use it and get serious about actually learning lol so maybe one day

10/10 personally, it will give you hints if you get stumped. Or if you don’t know what exactly is going on the ai above will sum up what the other ai is talking about. Also translate for you. I used it for free but you can pay if you wanna. 👍🏽

I’ve only been using Langotalk for a short time, but I absolutely love it! The combination of being able to talk about the things I like through speaking, listening, reading, and having available translations is awesome. Also love how I can use it for hours without restriction.

I don’t say this lightly- this is exactly the Spanish teacher that I have always been looking for.

I’m that person who rarely pays for apps. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever paid for an app. I still have an iPhone SE from 2020, and I drive a 2008 Toyota. You get the idea. I am willing to pay for quality, but I’m a bit hesitant to spend money on the latest new thing.

It was the free trial that got me with Langotalk. Wow. I have been learning Spanish on and off for 10 years in classroom settings, but what I struggle with most is conversation. Still not being able to freely express myself after all this time often discourages me from continuing to learn Spanish. Plus, it’s a vicious cycle- because you don’t know all the words and grammar you need, you don’t speak, but because you don’t speak, you don’t get better at conversation.

So that’s why Langotalk feels like my fairy godmother, knight in shining armor, and rocket ship all in one. It’s well worth the money, and as long as you devote yourself to practicing, you will improve at conversation (at least, if you are at intermediate level or above). This is absolutely the best method I’ve found for learning a language outside of living in a country where they speak your target language.

I find Langotalk very helpful when practising my Spanish. I particularly like that I can turn off the text when I’m in on conversations so that I can practice my listening comprehension. I wish, though, I could still be provided feedback when I have this turned off.

I am amazed how accurate and how this program literally teaches you what you said incorrect and how to say it, along with advice on how to improve. It’s really helpful if you are learning how to speak but do not have someone to practice with. Technology slowly replacing people, but it’s really helpful for what it is designed for.

I’ve been using this app since it was just web based and it was first launched. The dev is amazing and has worked so hard. So many apps take your money and don’t care, but Ariel definitely does. Langotalk is consistently kept up to date and just keeps getting better and better. There are lots of apps that you can use AI to practice languages with, but I honestly feel this is the best. I use it all the time for my Spanish and Portuguese practice.

Wow. I just think Langotalk is incredibly well done and smart. Perfect use of AI to simulate conversation and make learning Spanish more of a natural process how you would learn as a kid trying to engage with your world. The UX is amazing, the use of AI is so smart, great gamification as well. I have never fan girled so hard about an app or shared with so many people. Well done. I hope to use Langotalk for many many years to help me get fluent in Spanish. Thanks for creating such an amazing and delightful learning tool!! ❤️❤️❤️

I’ve been using Duolingo for almost 2 years and like it a lot; however, it’s not a great tool at all to practice conversation. Enter AI-based conversation tools like this app. this app has filled the gap between Duolingo and human conversation.

With this app I get to exercise those brain cells that trigger during conversation in a way they never did with Duolingo but do during live conversation. this app is not a replacement for real human conversation, but it’s excellent practice for those situations.

The developer is often updating Langotalk with little improvements and surprises. I hope this continues. Langotalk has bugs here and there, but he fixes them over time. Keep up with the improvements!

I’ve used Duolingo daily for over 2 years and am pretty good at reading Spanish - my Spanish speaking skills are poor. Langotalk uses AI to help me converse in Spanish. It’s excellent! Highly recommend.
