Love it!!

Update: everything below is now void lol TearsCompanion is 10/10.

So I was so excited that TearsCompanion came out so early as I use it for Korok hunting and to make sure I have all the shrines with each region. I’m really hoping the below problems are fixed asap. My only problems right now are: 1. When you click on the Korok to see what you have to do, there isn’t a picture anymore; just coordinates. But that could be a feature that I have to pay for and if it is, I may fork out the money later on. 2. On the iPad version, there is 2x Korok option and they are missing from TearsCompanion . 3. With the Korok’s that start somewhere else, there is no line connecting them like in the BotW version. So some of them I have no idea what to do and I’ll have to come back to them or stumble across them which wastes time but it is what it is for now.

Easy to navigate

I like TearsCompanion bcuz it’s visually easy to understand and the UI is better to navigate compared to other apps that I did try. I’m used to a Genshin Impact interactive map so I was looking for something similar to that and this is close enough! I wish I didn’t have to toggle a button to mark something as found, but rather just click an icon on the map and have a side pop up to prompt me to mark it (that doesn’t hinder visual of the rest of the map). That’s a small inconvenience that I hope could be changed but otherwise I love what TearsCompanion offers and will continue to use it! Thank you!

Incredibly helpful!

I've been using TearsCompanion sparingly as I don't want to spoil too much for myself on my first play through but so far it's been a big help with small things I keep getting stuck on!

A little sad that there's no one time add removal purchase or that the old-old one time Breath Companion purchase isn't grandfathered to TearsCompanion since fhe sub is cross-app - but also I fully respect the decision, especially since I don't even know if that's something that's even possible.

Keep up the good work!! I'm excited to use TearsCompanion more throughly once I finish the game plot and move more completionist!!

I love the idea

The execution of this is a bit clunky, TearsCompanion crashes sometimes and it’s not terribly informative in instructions

Sometimes (probably somehow using the wrong materials) I don’t get the intended recipe that I follow, so I would like it to have more detailed material lists.

I would love to mention at the armor tab. LIFE CHANGING! It’s pretty easy to find the armor given you wanna scroll through all of ‘em because of the search bar being glitchy in my experience, but it tells you what you need to upgrade each piece and the special armor that you had to get the dlc for in breath of the wild and the amiibo ones too it tells the location which is super helpful.

The search bar prior mentioned is unusable. Period. I can’t figure it out. Don’t know how it works. Doesn’t search when I type stuff in. Help!

The boss locations I absolutely love! the shrine locations helpful as well, and saves too much time.

If the ui was a bit better it would be 5 stars as I have already purchased the 6 month subscription. If I could do 3.5 that would be my rating.

Just amazing!

This is simply the best TOTK map tracker you can find (among paid and free apps). I actually found it more accurate than other maps. There is an extra compendium within TearsCompanion you can pay small amount to access (I didn’t need it but got it to support the developer). Also the developer is updating and enhancing the map regularly.

One wish list: cave tracker. Though maybe it is there but I am not seeing it. Armor checklist just added and it would be good to link it to actual chests/ locations. Pretty sure that’s happening soon. Thank you for this wonderful TOTK companion!

Great App- room for improvement

I used the previous BOTW Companion app and immediately downloaded this one once I found out it was available. Same great features, I love being able to make down which Korok seeds and shrines I’ve completed.

That said, app has been prone to crashing every once in a while, but it’s not too big of a deal with how much information is required to load. Some freezing when switching between map layers. But I’m sure with future patches this will improve.

Thank you for making such a useful tool!

Wonderful App

Love TearsCompanion! Keep in mind it's still receiving regular updates since the game is still very new. The fact that it has as much data as it does already is impressive.

There is an option at the bottom of the menu to purchase single unlocks if you don't want the subscription. I see a lot of comments about but having that. I think it's just overlooked.

Overall it's great if you are looking to do a full completion of the game or if you are just stuck on that one item. Worth the download!

great!

TearsCompanion really helped me with eliminating all the shrines I had already done so I could see what was left. Thank you! I’m sure it will prove equally useful when I decide I have the patience for the Koroks…

I was about to start looking for pristine weapons in the depths, though, and I’m surprised TearsCompanion doesn’t seem to have marked the spots where the ghosts are standing around holding them & what weapon type that ghost is usually holding. I watched a video of it and it seems like that information on a map would be really useful.

I wish recipes were more detailed

The UI is really good for an app so early into release. However, it would be perfect if more work was done to show stat boost for specific combinations of food and a search function to look for what you can cook with certain ingredients and also toogle which stat bonus you want. I know this is a lot of work and your constantly updating TearsCompanion . So I hope it’s something to look to add too. I bought for a year to support for such a great app. Thank you for your hard work!

Great app!

I had the original Breath of the Wild app and I thought that one was great. Now I have this one and I was blown away by just how much it had so quickly. It has all three maps, Hyrule, the depths, and the sky map. If you’re playing the game TearsCompanion will help you. I don’t like being told things, I want to discover things myself so I use this as a check list for shrines I’ve completed. But I also use it when I’m stuck. Really a great app. The makers should be proud of their product. Thanks

Awesome

I usually don’t spend money on apps but the botw and totk companion map app the Korok finder on it and the shrine located are really helpful along with the compendium and just the sheer customizabiliy of the map is so helpful if you have enough I recommend you buy the get rid of ads and all the other things instead of the subscription the only downside of the totk map app is that it is still new and it doesn’t have the images of the koroks which is really important but other than that I love TearsCompanion

Have to change my reviews

I loved the other app for BOTW but this one is lacking in soooo many areas. It lags horribly and there isn’t enough information given about areas. Need to make it more like their other app, it was much better. There are Sites that have more info than TearsCompanion that you pay for to be ad free.
Now that they are starting to add more stuff that others offer, it is going to be my go to for info. Thank you for your work

In app purchases

You should move the permanent unlock to the first page of the purchases. I understand pushing a subscription but in a world of subscriptions most people would rather pay and be done with it. I didn’t notice multiple tabs until I read a response from you because I was so thrown off at the idea of subscribing to a companion app. I will be making the permanent purchases and using TearsCompanion as much as I did the Breath of the Wild companion!

Absolutely Amazing

Huge props to the developer for this. I heavily used his previous application to 100% BOTW, and I will absolutely use this one for TOTK as well. It must have been exhausting to get TearsCompanion out so soon after the game’s release.

Since I get to explore this game’s world for the first time only once, I’ll be holding off on using TearsCompanion for a while. But you bet that I’ll be utilizing TearsCompanion ALL THE TIME when I feel ready to 100% it.

Again, amazing developer and equally amazing work.

Best companion apps out there!

I used the BOTW app before, and was so happy when this one came out. I would definitely recommend any companion/compendium/helper apps by this dev. The free version is perfectly useable for tracking things on the map, it’s NOT one of those “track 100 things for free” and then you have to pay. I rarely pay for apps, but i’m thinking of getting the full version because they don’t skimp out with the free version and it’s very dependable.

This app has helped me sooooo much.

I didn’t even know TearsCompanion existed first, and while that may sound horrible, it’s helped me so much once I found it. me and my friend are doing a challenge to beat the game and because of this I can constantly be keeping track of how I’m doing. Unlike most apps where you immediately have to pay, this gives me all the essentials with a pay wall. TearsCompanion is so helpful!

Checklists!!

I think what most people probably want from an app like this is a place to check off what you’ve found and see what you still need to complete. This is exactly what I was looking for!
TearsCompanion has tick on/off checklists for:
Shrines, Korok seeds, side quests, side adventures, shrine quests, main quests, towers, lightroots, dragon tears, mini bosses, hudson signs, treasures, caves, wells, and one marked “other” maybe because it’s a spoiler, so I won’t list it here.

Some crashes and missing content but super helpful

I really like TearsCompanion for helping track shrines and koroks and compendium entries. Hoping to soon see a checklist for side quests, shrine quests, and adventures, but the game is also only two weeks old so I’m sure it’ll be in a future update.

I gladly paid for the armors, compendium, and other in app purchases for the sake of convenience and to support such a useful app. TearsCompanion does freeze and crash from time to time, but it works most of the time!

Incredible Updates

I used Breath Companion when I was playing Breath of the Wild for the first time, but I played it a long time after the game came out, so the guide was already done. Tears Companion was (for good reason) unfinished at first, but it has already had so many updates as new information is found, and TearsCompanion gets better every day. Happy to support this developer and their guides.

By

Great app! One thing though

I used the BOTW Companion back when that came out this is the same thing but for the new one, lol. Good app, everything is fine except for one thing. The checklists aren’t accurate, some side quests are mixed up with the side adventures and vice versa, or are not on TearsCompanion at all. Makes 100% harder to get to when TearsCompanion is not fully up to date, I see it is being updated and fixed slowly though, so I get it

Absolutely worth the price l

The free version is helpful, but I can't tell you how many times I check TearsCompanion while playing TotK. It helps when you're looking for a specific enemy and/or material. I used to have a notebook. I'd write things down and check back when needed. This is SO much easier. Used the BotW version back in the day and I was so glad this version was available. Take this with you, it's dangerous to go alone.

A Game Completionist's Dream

This is such an amazing app. I used the Breath of the Wild companion and was thrilled when I saw that this developer also made one for Tears of the Kingdom. I'm someone who likes to do every single thing that a game has to offer- from completing every main/side quest to getting every optional chest- and TearsCompanion makes it a lot easier than it would be otherwise. Every important location/thing to collect is very clearly marked and thoroughly explained. I've never been left confused or frustrated with TearsCompanion. I'm starting my journey to collect all of the korok seeds using TearsCompanion, and I know that I'll continue to use it for ages afterwards. I wanna send a gigantic thank you to the developers of TearsCompanion. You've done an amazing thing with TearsCompanion, and I'm excited to see what else you may release in the future.

Missing Schematic Names

This guide is so helpful and so thorough that it's rather baffling that it's only got partial information for one of the most frustrating collectibles in the whole game, the Yiga and Stone Schematics. It shows where they are, but when you tap on the item for more info, it just shows the coordinates not the item that's there. Not helpful if you're looking for something in particular or trying to remember what you've already collected and where. I'm not constantly marking stuff off in TearsCompanion as I complete it, because I'm kinda, you know, playing the game. Everything else is so great, including many screen shots and hints on how to collect every korok, I'm it sure why this was missed. Considering you have to pay a monthly $2.50 subscription to open all the features, that's a pretty big fail.

Wish I had this to begin with

After beating the game, decided to go for 100%. Honestly there’s a ridiculous amount of stuff to do, so I’m super glad this companion was available. Really the only thing I wish was different was that the shrines/towers were separate from the overlay setting on the other items, the caves/chasms for example. Otherwise this thing has been amazing. Thank you to everyone who put in the work to help out others like me.

This app is genuinely growing good

I got this back when it first launched. Genuinely speaking, it was a decent map then. Sure it wasn’t perfect, but it got some jobs done. But with consistent updates, TearsCompanion is becoming a perfect companion. I opted for the 5 dollar asking price to get every tab, since I don’t mind the minor banner ads, and honestly it’s becoming a favorite to use since I can use it offline, so even while using the snails pace data i have when I somehow use my data all up, this little thing still keeps me productive and active across the lands of Hyrule :)

I’m genuinely hoping TearsCompanion gets more recongnition as a perfect tool for OFFLINE map usage. I understand that you can get the same applications completely for free with some websites and apps, but for a map I can pull out even while on an airplane, where I can’t use my data? It’s perfect

Frustrating ads

Great app! Totally awesome! I get it, this is capitalism and no one works for free so we need to see ads. Just like watching commercials on television. Cool! I don’t have a problem with that. I do have a problem with allowing ads that force you to click them. I watch the 10 second commercial. No prob! However, when the ad is over, there’s no way to close it and go back to TearsCompanion ! I’m forced to go to the website of some auto parts store when I own a brand new vehicle under warranty. I have to completely close TearsCompanion out and restart to get back in, then after 30 seconds of your awesome site, it happens all over again. Please fix this! Your app rocks! Your ads made me delete it!

Good, but a few issues…

Overall, this interactive map is great, however I have a couple of complaints. Despite having every cave, Lightroot, shrine, Hudson signs, well, old map, and sages wills, it’s quite inconsistent with the named locations. As far as I’m aware, it does have every single location on the map, however, many of the missable locations on the map don’t have one of the yellow pins so you can easily see where all of the non required ones are (for example, castle town reservoir, post ruins, and many, many of the bridges) which made me a bit distrustful that this guide has every korok seed, or mini boss listed on the map. And this slight distrust lead me to use other guides such as ign. If that slight issue was corrected this could possibly be the best overall guide for totk.
