Starts out entertaining enough…. Fairly simple, and until level 12 you’re led to believe that the only ads you’ll be subjected to are those that you can choose to watch in order to acquire extra in game currencies. This is false. Once level 13 is achieved, be prepared to spend 30 seconds playing the levels, then 60 seconds watching an advertisement for that racist, republican filled Chinese made game Last War…. Which is nothing like the advertisements it constantly has cycled around everywhere. Bottom line, this game tricks you into thinking the ads are optional for extras, but then bombards you with them shortly after a dozen levels. If you’re truly interested in a decent game that you only watch ads for obtaining extra in game items, then play TwoDots. I’m a SlimeyDot.

You most certainly can! Merely follow the business model of TwoDots. It’s a free or pay to play game, has micro and macro transaction options, has optional ads to watch which allow you to obtain in game items. They do not force me to watch ads, the game is very free should I not watch any ads at all. I do watch them however because obtaining the items which aid in solving the puzzles, is worth it.

Why would you give me the option to skip watching the ads after every level but when I click on skip ad I am still forced to watch it unless I swipe up on my phone to exit out of WarRegions . What’s the point of having a skip option if it doesn’t even work ???

The game never changes and it seems like there is no level for how many times you can upgrade even the weakest cards

After a certain point, it doesn’t matter you’re going to be using the stronger cards, so there’s no point even leveling up the weaker ones

Because there’s no point in leveling up the weaker ones this means leveling up your characters. It’s not gonna happen very often, if ever

The game does reuse every level many times

My only issue with the game is there’s so many ads that if you’re actually wanting to play the game it’s not even worth trying (after a certain point even if you don’t click the add button and it will still require you to watch an ad and just not get the reward)

Like so many games, at the end of every round you’ll see an option to double the reward with an ad. You’ll be shown an ad, regardless, like so many games, so you might as well get the double for your trouble, right?

No. The reward ads are more than twice as long & often buggy, meaning you don’t get the double.

Meanwhile you’re now spending more time watching ads than playing the game, which never gets particularly challenging anyway. I’ve played dozens of levels & only had to restart a couple of them to succeed, most are fine the first try. The whole system of collecting & improving your elements seems totally irrelevant compared to basic board strategy.

Even if you pay for add free you still get an add from their in game store to buy items every other game. Basically unplayable and the later levels force you to spend money to win. Please stay away as this is a very predatory game. Also I. Think it’s funny that they have fake reviews saying it’s a good game with no adds, Apple really needs to fix this. I see tons of apps with fake reviews and a 5 star rating but when you look at the real reviews you start to notice a bunch of negatives and 1 star reviews.

This game starts out great. The first 10ish levels are awesome, maybe a tad easy but exactly like the advertised. However at around level 12 the cash grab begins. Mandatory ads after every level ($15 oh wait only $4.99 if you don’t want to see them again), popups for random boosts $6.99, ads ads and more ads. I get having ads for a free game (I regularly pay for ad free on apps to support developers) but early on when levels are no more that 30 seconds long forcing me to watch an ad between them is crazy. The $4.99 price is also a bit high. This makes me not overlook things I normally would like the short looping soundtrack, easy to honest AI, basic graphics. I’ll be uninstalling.

UPDATED: Feb 2nd, 2024 with a few more examples of AI cheating.

The AI still cheats with an unlimited power cap, if it's losing you won't be able to connect lines, smaller tanks will blow up your larger ones, and any explosions at all will destroy your units. Turrets also won't damage enemy tanks, enemies can exit or take over a base you just captured, and sometimes out of nowhere you'll just lose a random tower to the enemy. No enemy units or "Supertank" Bosses were present when random towers were lost.

The interface is a massive issue 95% of the time. I've had the map slide when I want to move units, and I've had units move when looking around. You will most likely move units around you didn't want to move at all, costing you that level. It happened to me and I'm using a stylus.

Dev greed is still an issue with predetermined reward loops. There's not only pop-ups after the level like on Tower War, they decided to add some when the match starts.

The game looks and plays amazing, but the interface issues, dev greed, and pop-ups need to be fixed.

This game has forced advertisements at the end of every level. It claims to give you an option to watch an ad to receive double the resource rewards, but you’re forced to watch the ads whether you want to or not.

I also noticed multiple reviews claiming this game doesn’t have advertisements. But that’s incorrect, unless you spend real money.

The game will ask if you want to watch an ad for a bonus, if you click “no thanks” it presents you an add you can’t skip for no bonus. I don’t what the other reviewers are smoking thinking there are no ads.
To the devs: Don’t punish your players. Make a game they want to click the ads or buy things to give you money. Even if they don’t watch an ad you got a download that boosts your app.

I find it funny, after EVERY level you have to watch an ad. The funny part is, it gives you the option to watch an ad to get double the gold, but if you say no, you have to watch an ad anyway and get normal rewards. Then, regardless of which I choose, the game prompts me with some “special sale” and takes up more of my time.

All in all, this game 50/50 Gametime to ads.

Don’t waste your time.

The only way to earn the premium chest was to complete a massive amount of levels and earn the 2-4 diamonds each level. Since the update, the levels are only giving the same minimal coins but no diamonds! I’m at level 305! I have watched hundreds upon hundreds of your ads! The gems were the only reason to keep completing levels. Bring them back and increase the rewards!

Whenever I try to play the game, it starts heating up my phone like crazy, and when I try to play the game it lags hard, making it completely unplayable. I usually enjoy games like this, and I’d love to play it. Please let me know when the games in a better state, so that I may enjoy it proper.

Anytime I try and open WarRegions it won’t load anything after the “Say Games by PAVETRA” and will stay on the blue screen. If it doesn’t load it just automatically closes out, or it’ll freeze my phone on the blue screen.

After every level, you’re given a set amount of coins and asked if you want to earn a bonus amount by watching an ad. You have to wait 5 seconds for the “No” button to even appear, and regardless of pressing no, you’re still served an unskippable ad. After it ends, you’re asked to spend $5 to “remove ads” which an insane, completely unwarranted price considering the game’s quality. The game acts like the $5 is a bargain for its “usual” price, shown as $15, however I doubt it’s ever been that high and it’s only shown as such to drive sales and act as a fake discount.

To any reading this review, go to your iPhone settings for this game and turn off access to cellular then play with WiFi off. Lot easier than coughing up $5 to some stinge.

The game starts out fun, but as you progress it loses its luster quickly. You get hit with an ad EVERY SINGLE LEVEL, whether it took 10 seconds to complete or 3 minutes. I don’t know if the game creator can control it or not, but they’re the worst type of ads. Unable to mute them, multiple clicks to get out of them, it’s really frustrating. I spent more time watching ads than playing the game.

Once you get past level 450 the AI maintains a ridiculous advantage. A group of 100 tanks is easily defeated by their group of 30 tanks. Their bases develop units much faster than your bases will. There is no benefit is upgrading your equipment, because as soon as you do the AI will have the exact same equipment that you just upgraded to. The game becomes completely unreasonable and frustrating. When dealing with that along with the constant bombardment of ads, the game has become unenjoyable. I would not recommend this game at all, unless you want to watch ads and experience unfair play.

Another game with nice gameplay and some appealing graphics, but chock full of ads. The first few levels are painfully easy, and as soon as things get interesting they cram an ad between every level, whether you click the ad button or not.

Overall the game has a fun concept and is nice to waste time. But the issue comes of course with in app purchases. I bought the no ads and expected no pop ups, after every match I get a pop up to purchase a new vehicle. Basically you pay to replace outside ads with their ads. Second is I bought another vehicle and when you click it shows you it at level 24 or so, but if you buy it for an overpriced amount you get only 1 card of the vehicle at level 1.
So not worth any in app purchases, just gotta endure the sucky parts.

This game has a lot of potential! But as it is, I’m probably going to delete it. Here’s what would make this game great, and a real App Store standout.

1. Get rid of the levels. I hate levels in strategy games. A chess game doesn’t have levels that you must slog through. You pick your degree of difficulty with chess, and off you go.

Please consider doing the same thing here. The player picks the degree of difficulty, then gets a random map and the game starts.

2. Get rid of the ads. Or at least allow us to purchase an ad-free version at a reasonable price. If such an option is available now, I couldn’t find it.

3. Add a degree of randomization into the game. Ad it is now, a 10-unit attacking force seems to always beat a 9-unit defending force. That is in no way realistic. Add a bit of randomization, with the lower difficulty settings favoring the player more.

I hope you find these suggestions useful. I rarely write such long reviews. But I’m doing it here because as I said, this game could be really great.

The core gameplay loop is pretty fun.

Unfortunately it’s overshadowed by an obnoxious advertising scheme that has you spending three or four times as much time watching the worst kind of multi-part, hide-the-cancel-button ads as actually playing. If you didn’t get enough ads already, you can watch more ads to earn in-game currency, but it’s either deceptive or bugged, as watching the ad doesn’t always earn you what it looks like you should. You can pay to get rid of ads, but on top of that the game is also loaded with expensive pay-to-win monetization designed to fleece the whales and gate-keep rewards that initially look like they can be earned in-game.

I’m not against companies making money through advertising or microtransactions, but this game takes the idea to predatory and obnoxious levels. This is a shame, because for the minute or two you actually get to play, it’s pretty entertaining.

As of right now it’s kinda mid. I have played through more than 200 levels the maps start to repeat after that. I guess I eat the game?!?!

These are my biggest complaints:
I payed for ad free. This stops ads from 3rd party marketers but you still get in game ads from the developers to buy upgrades. Which isn’t actually that annoying since it’s just a quick pop up.

But honestly there is 0 reason ZERO reason to spread any money on this game. I beat the whole game with out a single up grade. I guess I like the fact that I can beat it with out paying for anything but honestly it’s just TOO easy.

The game play is pretty fun and is addicting. But ad after ad after ad, their is so much ads. After every single level you do you get a ad. Also the reason I called this money is because they ask you to buy things which are so expensive, and they ask you a lot.

But from what I can see the enemy’s advancements mirror yours. I.e. if you have a legendary unit, so do they. If you never upgrade your units, neither do they.

No skill involved with WarRegions. I usually play it in Airplane mode while traveling and listening to music. I’m at level 223 and it has become a mindless thing to do. Upgrading units seems pointless because they rarely come into contact with enemy units. The game is not frustrating nor is it challenging.

This is a fun time killer game, unfortunate part is your game process has no ability to sync across devices. Nearly every game out there will either tie devices through Game Center, facebook, Apple ID, Google Play or similar, this has no such ability. Every device you start at 1 and have to level each. Poor design for a game if you want to have the same progress across all devices. Game play once you get to higher levels is odd. One level you will be completely crushed over and over again and have 3 other opponents to take out and have to just time it right to be able to clear. Then the next after you get one opponent and a very small area and clear it without even thinking about it. Still fun, just would be nice to be able to pick up on another device and continue where you are at on the original device.

The main game mechanic is fun. Manage amassing resources , and send them at the right time. However, everything they did to try to add “deck building” or rpg-style grind and advance falls completely flat.

The VAST majority of all the cards/units you get are completely useless. You only use the top 4, and you rarely get those, while amassing thousands of minor units that can’t be sold, or used in any meaningful way. (And no, even though you gets tons of upgrade material for them, they never come close to competing with your epic/legendary units that are barely upgraded at all.)

I tried grinding for the 10 epic chests, and when I finally got there, it upgraded 3 of my 4 team cards. Great, right? Nope. The PC units apparently made the same upgrade, so it barely changed the game experience. The game a decent time-killer, but don’t waste any of your time watching ads for max rewards, as the rewards are practically useless.

CONTEXT: I generally play games that don’t need much concentration. I don’t mind higher levels repeating lower ones, but I really don’t like if the game violently pulls my focus away from, say, a casual walk around the park.

Unfortunately, War Regions’ scrolling playfield does just that. Having to scroll up and down just to send units between distant regions is not my idea of fun, especially when I try to scroll but end up sending multiple units somewhere I never intended.

It’s ironic that the game’s own playable ads all feature static playfields, are wonderfully playable, and are what attracted me to this game in the first place. These ads show sizable battlegrounds with relatively small hexes and zero confusion between units, so why give us giant hexes in real play with no obvious benefit?

Fix that without making anything worse, and I’ll bump this review up to at least 4 stars, if not 5.

Would be better if it didn’t play ads after every mission. They give you an option to play an ad for extra loot, but even if you hit no, they still play an ad. Totally stupid idea. How can I trust if I buy it, it won’t play ads when it doesn’t do what it says already? If you can suffer through more ad time than game time, it’s a good game. If you want more game time than commercial time, skip it.

The maps are entertaining and sometimes challenging, but you’re only really ever playing against bots even in the competitive “races”.

Really there’s just not enough content for it, there’s no reason really to bother upgrading once you get the gold cards, and no matter how high you upgrade the other cards, you don’t want to give up the perks of the Epics and the bots are scaled to pretty much your level so as to not really overwhelm you.

They really really want you to buy things, but outside of maybe a starter pack to cut down on the ads and give yourself a little boost, everything is stupidly expensive even as a “sale” much less at the full price… which you will never ever see. And again, there’s no point to upgrading.

It IS a fun little time waster, which requires a bit of thought from time to time. But really I wish there were more content or even a reason to switch up the cards.

Probably burn a little more time on it and then move on

I’ve watched more ads for other games then time I have spend playing the game. I get you make money off ads, but the ridicules amount this game has is excessive.

Was fun for a while, Then big number didn’t beat small number. Ai would ignore oppressive force to target player, Even if player had bigger numbers than other ai enemies.

Back onto big number game.
I had a stack of 450 troops and I sent it against a small tower with 50 troops and my entire force except 115 died. Which in all logic made no sense. Enemy ai had the same exact unit as me yet it seemed a bit cheated. As if it was trying to force me into spending 30 BUCKS to upgrade troops. Which I’d stupid and not very fun for a game that essentially should just be “big number beat small number “ not the convoluted Bull shikes of “small number beat big number if small number has ability of ??? Then beat big number even if big number is higher level and higher number”

I used to play because it was fun. Went back for a bit of fun was greeted with a wall of “buy this” shoved in my face. Every time I beat a level it kept pushing troop cards in my face. IF I WANTED TO GET THEM ID BUY THEM PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD JUST SHOW THEM AFTER SOMEONE LOSES NOT WHEN THEY WON

Is it a fine game? Sure. It plays as it advertises, but it could be more.

The good: Easy to play. Easy to progress. Never needed to use the bombardment skill to defeat an opponent. Easy

The bad:

Ads. The fist handful of levels don’t have any, but soon you’ll have an ad after every level. You can pay money to stop them of course. The real kicker is after every level you get asked if you want to watch a video to double your level reward. If you watch it you don’t have to watch the ad between levels… until you run out of ads and then MUST watch the ad between levels with no rewards.

Next the chests. These let you upgrade your units. Though you really don’t fight other units often enough to make a difference. You get free chests after every couple of hours, but sometimes you get “internet connection issues” and can’t get your free chest. You can only get purple/gold units in rare chests that cost gems. You only get a few randomly through levels or you buy gems. You can get keys if you buy a $ pack, but it seems you can’t get them any other way.

Levels: it’s a linear progression. The boss every 10 levels was nice, but I haven’t seen him in a while. (Current lv 150.) Since it’s linear there’s nothing else to do get make progress/get coins/gems/ mix up the game play.

It’s a time waster, but you quickly figure out you don’t have much to do in the game besides clearing levels until you get enough gems to buy a chest.

Whisked through 80 levels in no time. There is no real challenge in this game. Either the hardness level is turned down or the AI is just not very good. And there are far too many ads.

Adds are full of bugs. Many time you’d watch full adds for bonus and then screen goes blank. By default in these cases award should be given. Loved the game initially but 500% adds with bugs are too much.

I was having fun workings towards Epic and Legendary vehicles only to be disappointed to realize that the AI teams get the exact same vehicles when I get them. It would be nice if all types of vehicles appear randomly in the AI teams so we get an idea of what we can work towards. With the current model, I don’t see the point of progressing. Time to delete the game.

I love this game and it kills time very good I also love the strategy you need to use in order to win , but I do wish that you can send a curtain amount of troops as when you send them you send them all overall I love this game

I mean I don’t understand why people are complaining about the ads. I never saw any ads after playing for a while. I don’t know if it’s a glitch for me but really. It’s pretty fun but a get board after doing 4 levels about. Then I move on and remember it play 4 levels and remember why I got board

Overall I’ve really been enjoying this game, the ads are a bit much though.

I’ve been #1 on the global leaderboard often on and while it appears opponents at this level are more competitive, I have a hard time believing that I’m playing against real players. I can select which player to be matched against, but they don’t choose me so therefore I must be playing against a computer simulated version of my opponent’s load-out team.

Its just that, a decent time killer. I like the game enough to pay for ad free, but even after I've done that I still have to watch an ad for the x2 bonus??? Im not crazy I understand you should be paid for your product, but if someone pays for it, imo there should be 0 ads. Otherwise most bugs have been fixed and it seems much smoother than before so. 4out of 5 as long as you understand it is filled with ads without buying ad free.

Decent game overall and good for wasting time. I only have a few complaints but not entire game breaking problems
1. Ads: I don’t really care for them or that they pop up after every single game but it does get annoying after a while.

2. AI RNG: there are times when I begin a game and all the ai troops bum rushes my one and only base or one ai take out the others then has a ton of bases vs my 1-2 but after a change in strategy or waiting to see what the ai’s first move/ waiting for troop build up helps with this.

3. Rewards: there are times I feel when the rewards pop up I’m not getting enough coins to upgrade my troops especially after every 10 rounds I open up a chest and get 50+ cards for one or two troops that I don’t even use with like 500 coins but I understand that there’s some RNG to it as well just wish the payouts were a little bigger sometimes.

The reason for 4 stars and bonus complaint: why does the enemy AI have shielded troops!? Usually one or 2 ai will have the shielded tanks and completely demolish me and the other ai! They get to completely ignore one mine and get hurt on another if there is one (which takes 25 troops but if it’s a full or over full army then it tanks it like it’s nothing)

That’s about the extent of my complaints really, before I finish I would like to add a wishlist if possible!
1: mine layer or ability to set traps for enemies
2: ability to slow down enemy or speed up own production of troops!
3: a troop movement cancel button (annoying when I can’t deselect troops especially ones on turrets)
4: having a slow production but heavy hitting unit (for those pesky turrets or full bases of 50+ enemy troops)(troops routed to base can be the HP like the bosses or something of that sorts)

Really enjoy the game …. And paid for the growth fund …. Paid when i passed 1000 levels…. But now I’m at 1274 and there haven’t been any more growth fund updates where it was updating on an increasing schedule of 50 levels…. Then 75 …. Last was 875 levels then 1000…. And no updates since…. Feel like i over paid for the crystals and haven’t gotten any more…. When is the next level for growth fund?

I think this is a great game It is addictive and fun BUT could have more things like sandbox where you can create islands and have factories and enemies etc. another thing is difficulties like from easy to very hard, otherwise it is a great game.

I’m on level 1029, how many levels are on this game lol, the good units come from chests but I’ve opened a lot of chests and still don’t have all the different units! Even on level 1029 you still get the same stuff you would get from a level 1 chest. It’s a good game to kill time but not much reward for progress

I’m not crazy about this game but it’s fun. I do like the new levels but i do like the old ones. So could you keep some of the old levels back? But also i was wondering. If we add like a trade system. Like. I have at least around 500 of the common cards or what ever. And every 10 common items it will upgrade one time upwards and 10 of uncommon would go to rare and so forth. This game is a real time killer to be honest with you.

The game is fun and plays just how it appears in the ad. It has a good balance of ads and gameplay, skippable between levels and full ads for 2x bonuses. I paid $5 to get rid of ads, and I still end up choosing the 2x bonuses (watch an ad) pretty often. The game still tries to sell you upgrades, but I don’t mind. Overall this game is not abusive towards its players, has lots of challenges and PVP, and overall is pretty good way to waste time. I’m happy with the download.

I know this game hasn’t had many updates recently which I assumed may be due to a lack of ideas, so I have a great idea for one that I would love to be added. My idea is a nuke that could quickly damage far towers very quick doing damage depending on if it is common or legendary you get the point. In all a great game and I would love to see this update in the future.

Great game and very fun to play. I even got the ad free version.

One problem I ran into is one of the tanks is very over powered. It basically blows up when it's defeated and can wipe out a whole entourage of tanks and choppers even if it's 50 units vs 1.

I got stuck on a level where it's impossible to get past because the computer just keeps on sending out this OP tank and it kills anything I got before they even get close.

Please make that tank do less damage when it explodes and also cut back the area of effect.

Bedsides that great game. I'd totally test out any other games you got.

This is a fun, fast pace strategy game. The levels plateau and it gets quite easy in later levels (500+) once your team has been upgraded for the tournaments. Would be great to see harder levels and a system to upgrade gold and purple machines besides opening packs with diamonds (maybe a way to trade up 10x lower level cards for 1x higher level card like in similar games).

I’m giving this game a five star for higher visibility to warn ppl that this game is an ok time waster. That is until it glitches. Ads are 30sec or more, and forced ads are a minimum 15 seconds. If you’re ok with that, don’t be fooled and purchase anything to boost your vehicles, it isn’t needed. Also, do not attempt to purchase the “no ad” option, because that’s when the glitches occur. Ultimately I rate this game one star.

I recently found this game on an ad, and it looked interesting, so I wanted to check it out. There’s not that many ads in this game, which is great, and it’s really fun overall. I’m addicted to this game and i’m already in the the 70 levels. I think lots of people should play this.

Most of the time like when my brother wants me to play war games I say "No". But tuis game I like to play. The main plot of this game is that your trying to get more land and you have to take over different places so you can have a kingdom. I highly recommend this to boys that like to fight and like war games. So parents, if your kid is bored, I think this is what you should do but it's different for different ages. If they are 4-8,take a Ipad or phone, download this game, and give it to them. If they are 12-16 then you should walk up to them and say:"Are you bored? If you are this is the game to download." And show them the game. thats all I have to say. So have a good time playing!

Ever sense the game released, seems like the ad’s were ruining it, although its a really great game, but the ad’s have lowered, and it’s absolutely great, I love the game, its semi tactical, and fun, and sometimes hard, which it was harder

Fun game. I was a little afraid when downloading it at 4.4 stars. The game is the same as the add which I like. The advertisements are pretty annoying, you get a add every 5 minutes. The games has 4 different vehicle types healer truck, boat, tank, and lastly airplane. The are several towers too. Overall great game decently hard mostly skill unless you watch a 30 second advertisement, and the game is pretty fun.
