honestly, UniversalTVRemoteControl makes you pay before it even lets you do stuff, try to go down, “premium subscription required” if didn’t even let me try UniversalTVRemoteControl before i payed 39 dollars. it just isn’t worth it i don’t even know how well it works

Ya its kinda just stupid in my opinion how everyone of these apps will never state up front that it costs 7 dollars a month to use the thing so you download and setup the thing even asks for a review and rating before you even get to use the thing kinda scammy behavior really if you were up front about stuff people might buy it more just saying.

this will work fine temporarily if you need to reboot or change some settings; anticipate that you're downloading a mouse to navigate a few screens and don't expect to be able to change the channel, volume, or turn it on and off while you're doing so.

the point of a paid app should be to support useful functionality; it's not a free app if i have to pay to use literally any of the useful features even once.

App seems like it would be a pretty useful app. Well designed and well thought out with lots of features. However on the “free” version you cannot go for longer than 30 seconds without the unlock pro version popup popping up. Makes UniversalTVRemoteControl very difficult to use! I have no problem paying $5-$10 for UniversalTVRemoteControl but now days everyone wants a subscription. SMH.

You have to subscribe to use UniversalTVRemoteControl at all.

I just got UniversalTVRemoteControl and it said I could have the features for free when I held down on UniversalTVRemoteControl and then when I opened it up again I couldn’t use any of the features. Personally I think UniversalTVRemoteControl should not be downloaded.

It says that UniversalTVRemoteControl is free but that you can pay to unlock premium features. All I wanted was to be able to turn the volume on the TV up and down but apparently this is a “premium feature”. Controlling the volume seems like it should be a standard feature on a remote controller.

Every three clicks? Really? And no. I’d pay a one time purchase of $.99 max for a remote. You do not deserve the amount you’re asking for “pro”.

Also this market needs to stop marketing everything as a pro. Its just unlocking a remote. A technology as old as TV’s should not be referred to as a pro anything.

I understand that people need to make money but just do a one time purchase or at least allow the volume control without having to pay $6 a week. That’s basically a Netflix subscription, kinda ridiculous for a remote. Just better of buying a new tv with volume controls on it

It is miss leading and did not mention I would be charged until after UniversalTVRemoteControl was installed and fully set up

It makes you rate UniversalTVRemoteControl as soon as you open it before you can even see what UniversalTVRemoteControl is and you have to pay right away

They make you rate UniversalTVRemoteControl in the initial setup before you have used it. It works well, but they charge $6.99 a WEEK. I am the 3 day trial while I wait for my $8 real remote I reordered to show up.

Unless you like being forced to subscribe before being able to do literally anything, don’t waste your time with UniversalTVRemoteControl.
The three day “free trial” immediately wants you to sign up for a weekly billing plan before you can even see if it will work with your phone. I tried skipping that step and all it did was put some weird loading screen thing on my TV. Never got to test if it would control it or not because every button you try to tap tells you it only works with “Pro” mode.. meaning you have to pay.
All I wanted was to see if it would actually control turning my Toshiba Fire TV on and off.. but I have no idea because I didn’t want to have to deal with cancelling a weekly subscription ($8 a week to use a remote control? No thanks).

You gotta pay to use basic things.

There’s a couple things wrong here. You have to pay for the pro version just to use the volume control which didn’t even work with my 4k firestick. Second they force you to review UniversalTVRemoteControl to finalize setting up the configuration…but how are you supposed to honestly review something you haven’t had a chance to use yet. I unsubscribed and deleted immediately.

I've spent 39.99 for the lifetime plan and nothing works. It find the tv and connects but none of the buttons works.
Refund request sent.

This is a bait scam app. After downloading UniversalTVRemoteControl AND allowing it to access your home network and Bluetooth, it asks for a subscription payment method. !Don’t fall for it! Who knows how much information they are gathering and selling after you grant access. Also, you don’t find out about the subscription requirement until after they’ve gained access to your network and scraped whatever data they could get.

It was easy to set up, but literally it’s so hard to use because every time you try to click on the remote it has a pop-up that tries to make you pay for it and if you’re not looking at the remote, you might accidentally pay for it because it pops up so frequently (literally every one or two clicks??)don’t waste your time.

Edit: I’ve just found out it also cost money to use the volume button?

If I could leave a 0 I would. You get three taps and it shoves a subscription plan in your face. That, while already bad enough, is not where it ends. I have an insignia tv. It has no button to control volume. Thankfully UniversalTVRemoteControl has volume control that you can’t use unless you pay. With the amount of times I’ll be clicking no subscription alongside deafening volume from my television, I’ll use instagram. Developer if you are reading this and want to put an ai generated response to console me, I hope you drop your tv remote and slip causing the remote to go so far up your cheeks that blinking changes the hdmi input

Im not one to write about or rate an app. However, it spams you every time you press on the control buttons to get the premium package. I can’t even use the volume button on it because it’s only for premium .

UniversalTVRemoteControl the first thing is asks you is to rate UniversalTVRemoteControl without accually using it, then right after it asks you to buy a subscription, like it isn’t that big of deal but then in order to power off my tv or automatically go to a channel you have to buy the subscription, like ya let me add another 3.99 a month on top of the fact that I own this tv and payed for it with my money. In conclusion, unless you would like to be met with a pay wall, don’t download UniversalTVRemoteControl.

UniversalTVRemoteControl let me press home and use the up and down buttons. Once I tried to hit the center of the track pad to select for the third time I was given a screen telling me to subscribe. Same thing when I tried to lower the volume. You need a subscription or use the power button and volume and select. Useless remote unless you’re looking to spend a crazy amount of money to use a REMOTE

When it’s connected, it’s great. But it has been wildly inconsistent for me because it keeps losing connection with the TV. Super annoying to constantly repair. Sometimes it disconnects while a show is on, then it can’t reconnect because it thinks it can’t turn the TV on. So the options are to keep the show on and not be able to change or do anything, or shut off the TV manually and start over. Terrible user experience.

UniversalTVRemoteControl used to be the best one of all the remote apps and Ive tried them all, used to work just fine despite having a shady internet connection, not long after they “updated” it and then would proceed to constantly disconnect and reconnect even when the wifi was connected. Don’t waste your time unless you have a hotspot.

Like most apps. It tries to trick you in to clicking ok ok ok next then you are subscribed to a subscription without realizing it. Anyways downloaded UniversalTVRemoteControl based on review that I could use the remote without premium but you can not unless you do it for the three for days you get as trail. Granted it did locate all my tvs very fast and effortlessly but I’m uninstalling just isn’t what I needed. The free version is worthless honestly

Had to pay to do most things, and was about to delete UniversalTVRemoteControl and then under UniversalTVRemoteControl icon. I saw free access to everything a little skeptical I clicked it, and it worked.

I totally recommend UniversalTVRemoteControl, you can connect it to any tv and it’s free. But however every time I’m using it in my tv I get this thing were it says pay to get the pro version. Pls fix this problem I get super annoyed by this, that’s why I give it 4 stars

Good connection smooth playing almost everything it’s supposed to do works perfectly. I’m not one of those people that see. There’s always something you could do better but I feel like I gave this four stars instead of five is because I want something I could always want to have

Connect pretty fast to your TV button works except for the shortcut without paying a subscription. Also, every like five or 10 clicks it’ll ask you to move up to premium.

Just wish there were no fees and can turn my volume up and down

I’m having a problem setting up the volume control using my phone

I recently broke my remote, moving my couch and this started working right away works even better than my remote. Honestly, I’ll probably just be using this from now on and the subscription really isn’t that much especially if you got the yearly amount really isn’t much at all.

This is real I was just downloading all they remote apps and none of them were real or you had to pay for them and this one you don’t have to pay for it and it just connects like you could connect it to your Xbox OK this is the best app just download it trust me it’s because if you lose your remote, it comes in handy

When I found UniversalTVRemoteControl on UniversalTVRemoteControl Store, I immediately got it because I lost my remote and I haven’t found it in like two weeks I required you to get UniversalTVRemoteControl

For thos who don’t know you can get all features free just hold UniversalTVRemoteControl it will show a button saying unlock all features

It was so easy to set up and program. Everything must have for every TV.

When I’m in UniversalTVRemoteControl and connected to the tv infront of me, it randomly disconnects from the tv a few seconds later, it could’ve also happened when I’m off UniversalTVRemoteControl , can you please fix this problem for safety.

One problem when i try to turn off the family tv for a prank well I do have premium but it's says connect which it is

I tried a few trials and this one was the only one that worked every time! Some others can be very frustrating and have a terrible interface to navigate.

I got so many remote apps now I had to delete them except for this one because it really helped me lot with my TV down because my brother lost the remote

I have a iPhone 6 so roku doesn’t work.

This is the first universal tv remote app I’ve ever had work for me. It is so easy to use and only takes a second to switch from one tv to another.

I cannot stress to you how many remote apps I’ve downloaded, only to be told i have to pay 5 bucks a week just to adjust the volume or go to my settings

I was already on my fifth app download trying to find a remote for my phone. And none of the previous had worked but then I ran across this one and it did. Yay!!

This looks like it could be a good tv remote app for me for my phone. I like to at some point in time purchase the premium for it when I get to he chance.

I give this a recommend because you don’t have to pay . All you need to do is turn on your tv and follow the steps on your phone and it’ll connect itself. FIVE STAR!

I thought this was a scam but I finally got my stupid google tv to work thanks to UniversalTVRemoteControl. 5 stars for keeping me from breaking my tv :)

It has some bugs it keeps disconnecting from my phone. I wish it would work a little better but honestly not too bad.
