Baseball Card Collectors Bible

Beckett Baseball is the insiders guide to baseball card collecting. The digital version not only gives you the complete issue found on the newsstand, but also an expanded price guide in the back portion. Now you can always check the prices of all the years of all the different company's card sets. Basically it is a must for the serious card collector. Great articles and a guide to contacting the major collectors for any of your card needs.

Not happy

I have to agree with some others on this. BeckettBaseball . isn’t the greatest. It’s hard to scroll through all the pages. Biggest problem I found is I’m a collector of older cards. There aren’t any prices listed for anything except 2000’s and newer. Unless I’m looking in the wrong place. You are welcome for the $10 I donated.

Don't do it

App is fine but release date for digital can be three weeks after print version. Very dissatisfied with purchase. If you have Beckett online just stick with that.

By

Not worth the wait

Always at least two weeks behind the newsstand. Should just stick with eBay for your price guide.

Will not load this is a rip-off!

Save your money

I hadn't purchased a Beckett in about 15 years but I am trying to get my 5 year old into the hobby. I looked in several stores trying to find a paper issue but they are almost nonexistent. So I figured I'd give BeckettBaseball a whirl...big mistake. There are a number of issues with BeckettBaseball: 1) Scrolling through the pages to find a year and set is tedious to say the least...especially on the small screen of a phone or tablet. There really needs to be tabs or an index that can take you right where you need to go. There are so many sets now that just going through one year can be a pain. 2) As mentioned previously, this format it not good for a price guide. The writing and numbers are horribly small. So small that when you zoom in you only see a tiny portion of the page. 3) BeckettBaseball freezes constantly! And by constantly I mean every 1 to 2 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous.
This is the last Beckett I buy digitally. Worst $8 I've spent in a long time.

While it is handy to have the latest Beckett right in your pocket, BeckettBaseball itself is sloppy.

It's a very frustrating app in nearly every way imaginable. Zooming in is a pain as you have to wait several seconds for the page to load and the render. Often times zooming will lock the page up and force you to close and reopen BeckettBaseball .

Very inconsistent as well. I will be looking up several cards from a single set and I am forces to tap my screen every 20 seconds or so in order to avoid my screen from turning off. If it does turn off, I occasionally have to find my page again as BeckettBaseball reverts back to the defaulted 2006 page. And don't turn your phone to the upright position because it will dump you onto page 1.

I could go in, but in short, if the in app purchase were $2-3 per issue, I couldn't complain and I'd probably by it every month. But at $7.99, I'll just spend the EXTRA $2-3 and get the hard copy.

Thanks

The magazine is 30 dollars so thanks for not being a ripe off

Rip Off

I miss the good ol' days... Before all the card grading companies killed the fun of collecting for kids, and when there wasn't a million types of cards. The days of the Ken Griffey Jr rookie card and Billy Ripken error card. The days when the Beckett hard copy issues were affordable an fun to read. Now they are far overpriced and $7.99 per issue for BeckettBaseball version??? No thanks... I'll find a new hobby :(

Worst app ever! Unless you want to be a month behind on all your collections value!

The new issue is available 2 weeks or more after it hits the book shelf! I rather pay $2 more an issue then buy cards that went down in value because I didn't know, do to basing it on the previous issue!

Holy Crap!

Beckett is a HUGE company that has been in business for decades and they can't hire someone to write a decent functional app?!! Their app is HORRIBLE!! These magazine subscriptions are HORRIBLE!! They're both completely useless!! Shame on them!! Don't download and waste your time and/or money! Luckily I paid thru PayPal so I got a full refund!

Awesome App

Great App, excellent functionality.....

WARNING

Save your money,, they don't upload issues on time. The February issue is out in less than 2 weeks and they are still on December

Beckett

I love the Beckett magazine. Been a big card collector since I was a little kid. BeckettBaseball makes it easier and less space consuming then collecting the actual magazine. I give it 4 stars it's great but there is some room for improvement.
