My whole life I’ve struggled to identify colors due to my colorblindness. I probably should’ve looked for something like this before or written it myself (I’ve been an iPhone user since its first generation), but in any case, when I searched, WhatColorIsThis showed up first and does EXACTLY what I wanted and need: tell me what color something is. Plain and simple. Thanks for having a free version of WhatColorIsThis. Thanks for helping mitigate a lifetime problem.

I am colorblind, (protanopia) and I have a hard time being able to tell some colors apart from each other. all I have to do is snap a pic, or even go through my phone’s camera roll and it can tell me what color I’m looking at instantly! Very helpful!

WhatColorIsThis is Underrated!

WhatColorIsThis gives you variety of the color that you are looking for, most times it’ll give you the exact color your looking for.

With the Basic, NTC, Behr and other scenarios it’ll show you different colors as well!

I live for it! It helps me indicate what color I’m looking for especially for Art and fashion and to top it all off, it’ll give me other shades to choose from.

This is a very good app except for one thing sometimes the lighting is weird and you get a different color then way it looks in real life if you’re using WhatColorIsThis for a something important scan multiple times

So far, I love WhatColorIsThis. I had a fabric I was struggling to match. I just shot a pic and let WhatColorIsThis give it a name, the color mix, as well as complementary colors and triadic palette. Incredible!

Try to scan a color and WhatColorIsThis would not even load the color name or anything.

Every time I open WhatColorIsThis and click on a color it will freeze for no reason

I think WhatColorIsThis is ok, I’m proud of the developer of WhatColorIsThis, at least they are trying , so I commend them, to me WhatColorIsThis works better in light, I do like WhatColorIsThis

Never buy WhatColorIsThis. I read the reviews and assumed they would be wrong until I got it. First of all I got it to see what color my scrunchie was but when I scanned it assuming for a color like gold or tan I got RED😡 I went into natural lighting to see if that would effect the color but no it just said green that time.👿👿😠 then I scanned a piece of paper because how could it mess that up and it did😠😡. It said brown. If you don’t listen to me and get WhatColorIsThis then be prepared for it to be wrong and in order to get “better” results you must pay 2$😠🆗sorry😯😕

Such fun to explore color. Also, really useful for my eBay sales of designer and vintage clothing. Now I have a helpful source of descriptive names for the colors of fabrics. Love WhatColorIsThis.

So, I was going to see WhatColorIsThis, when I opened it up, it has quite a few ads. So I put in my skin color, and I am very pale, it said I am BRONZE! I scanned paper (white) and it said it was brown. So I scan my eyes and it said they are black. They are not black they are teal! Please fix this! 😡😡😡

I never knew there where so many shades of red, green, blue and more!

App does a great job of giving you the HTML hex code and RGB codes, but tell that to the average guy working the paint counter at the hardware store and they'll look at you like you've got a second head.

What would be great is giving the closest color for the major paint brands (Pantone and Crayola aren't enough). For example, the Behr Color Smart color match app is much more useful for giving you the match and what the corresponding Behr color name is.

It’s not a light thing. It’s a give me your money thing. Tried to use it on an image that is white and a light blue. It just chooses any blue and calls it “closest” but it can get closer if you pay for WhatColorIsThis . Waist of time.

Great app. Really simple to use and has already settled several office disputes like "Is this stapler blue or purple?"

The idea is very cool but it’s totally inaccurate. It said my eyes (which are CLEARLY bright green) were black... idk if you could improve it that would be great.

I took a picture of denim blue jeans and it said the color is green. Took picture of burgundy fabric, again WhatColorIsThis said green. Useless app, don't bother to download it.

I like WhatColorIsThis for what it is trying to do, and I find it gets in the ballpark but is not spot on. I think the device camera, lighting (color temperature of bulbs) and display (true tone or not) are variables that must be just right in order to get close to the color being captured, or approximated.

I did purchase the extended color sets, which are nice to have.

One suggestion I have is for the Search / color picker mode: provide an option to change the background color from white to black (or also grey)... when color matching to a real world sample using a light emitting screen, white light can visually bias the comparison.

WhatColorIsThis is awesome!! It is EXACTLY what i was looking for!:)

Good app idea but the matches aren't always very accurate.
