Simple and surprisingly accurate. Been using it for years now.

Years ago when I first downloaded TunerLite, I was not even aware up to that point that such a thing exists; that is, an app that can be a fully functional and accurate tuner like a typical physical stand-alone tuner. So, I was pleasantly surprised to find when I gave it a try, it actually worked! I have even compared the results from what TunerLite tuner thinks is in tune and then what a true physical tuner reads. I admit I was impressed to find that they were virtually the same......In other words, it truly does work. Nothing fancy (which I like as a matter of fact) but it has proven to be a pretty reliable tuner which is all I need.

All that said, if I am going to be performing live or laying down some guitar tracks in a studio or anything like that, I would still prefer a physical tuner from any of the long established well known names in that world; however, for just needing to make a quick tweak while your practicing and don’t have your tuner near by, or anything like that, I know I can always have this on my phone as a backup ready to go and can trust the accuracy without having to worry. Definitely comes in handy. Honestly have no complaints. Would certainly recommend to guitar players like myself as well as any other musicians that this may still work for with whatever other instrument you might play. Great up for what it is. Thanks!

Amazing Quality, Great App

I really like Tuner Lite because it allows me to have a tuner pretty much whenever I want, because I don’t have a tuner at home. I love how it’s free and doesn’t take up much storage, and you can change your background if you want to. It also doesn’t run wild like other tuners do. (What I mean by that is some tuners bounce from “it’s all tuned!” To “it’s horrible” within a second and it gets me confused. Tuner Lite doesn’t do that.) One thing I don’t like about Tuner Lite, though, is that it limits you to a certain amount of backgrounds “because they are only available in the payable version of TunerLite ”. Well, that doesn’t really matter that much because it’s great anyway, so I still give it 5 stars. Another thing I don’t like is that it has useless ads at the bottom. Well, I guess it doesn’t bother me too much because it doesn’t cover anything important in TunerLite . One strange thing I noticed today is that when I clicked on TunerLite , it wanted me to get some “music store”, when I don’t need that thing. I just need Tuner Lite and Soundcorset to practice my violin. (Check that app out too; you’ll love it!) Anyway, when I clicked on that (I had no choice)it took me to TunerLite Store where it wanted me to buy it. No thanks. I just went back to Tuner Lite and everything was fine. I love it, and I really recommend it for every musician to use!

Tuner Lite

I am a severely vision impaired person. I am able to magnify the screen of my phone with a special camera so that I can see A huge Lee magnified image of my iPhone screen and see the needle on tuner lite. That being said, none of the buttons of TunerLite will work when voiceover accessibility feature is activated on the iPhone. As many vision impaired musicians as there are out there, the developers of TunerLite should have made it accessible to those of us who want to use an electronic tuner for our instruments but need voiceover to tell us The function of each button we are activating on the screen and function correctly with the usual voiceover gestures needed for other features on the iPhone As usual, we vision impaired people are left out again when it comes to app development. TunerLite needs to be accessible to everyone. I personally am very tired of talking to app developers about the fact that we need equal access and being told that when the ads they put in TunerLite Store were developed, they were not meant to be used by blind people. This is really no longer acceptible. If Apple can include accessibility features on their product. App developers can make sure that their products are 100% accessible to all.

Good product

I am starting to useThis program on a daily basis for itemizing gaining the annunciation of the notes and lyrics that I am trying to put forth in my humming, tuning, singing and piano enunciation. I’m trying to get it articulate enough so that I can gain in my music production skills overall… And begin to produce excellent song material!
The program is working excellently towards that. I would’ve given it the last star, but it is really hard to tell with the axles extra features that you have to pay for our within the program. Maybe I’m just not seeing the search engine.
I really like this program!

Good app

TunerLite is a good app. I have the free version, but it works great. It’s nice to have the option to hear the note to tune to, or to have TunerLite listen to your note and tell you how close it is to being in tune. The only thing the premium version lets you do as far as I know is to remove ads and customize the background. Neither of these things are a problem in the free version because the ads are a little strip in the bottom so they don’t interrupt your tuning. In the free version, you can still customize the background, but your options are limited. Highly recommend.

Great App but Still Needs Work

I am a saxophonist and I just started to use TunerLite yesterday. It was great when I first started using it. But then I noticed a couple of annoying things. When I first got it I went to the settings and tried to change the background to one of the picture ones and it said that I have buy the other app. Also when I would get the perfect pitch on one note I either get to flat or to sharp on the next note. Some of the things that I would like to check out on TunerLite it would not let me because I have the free version. So overall I give it three stars because it is not that open to everyone and some people would not like to pay just for the settings. So please open these settings to everyone.

Usually pretty good

It’s a nice app the whip out quickly to tune. It’s a little challenging to play and watch for intonation while working on a piece of you have the lite version. The ads will pop up covering the whole screen. Sometimes very frequently and times it’ll make you press play so you can get the video started so you can go back to tuning. That’s a little annoying. Also I ran into problems where it will stick onto one note and as play other notes, it’s frozen on that precious note until I exit out TunerLite again.

Excellent performance

I've used this tuner for years. It keeps on working. When first downloaded, I checked it against my old Seiko metronome's A440, as well as against my adjustable Korg tuner's pitch. They all matched so I was happy. Am still happy. Not many apps remain this functional for this long. No bells, no whistles, just a tone and an oscilloscope "analogue". Love the big display and easy-on-eyes contrast. Tickled that it still looks like an old Korg or the like.
Someday though... somebody's going to be able to monetize how high or low to 440 musicians choose to play... cannot imagine how though!

This app helped me tune my violin!

My violin was severely out of a tune after years of lack of usage, but I decided to fix it today. The only problem was I had no idea how to tune my violin bc my violin teacher had always done it for me. I used different apps and watched several videos, but no luck until I came across TunerLite!! It’s simple to use once you understand what you’re looking for. I finished tuning my violin and the GDAE strings sound identical to how a standard violin should sound. Very grateful for TunerLite!

Came with a burrito, but don’t expect that

TunerLite is great! I got it and it came with a Taco Bell burrito! However, the Diablo sauce was kind of a lot and I had some intestinal distress afterwards. Unfortunately, I was in the middle of playing at the state orchestra, so it was not a good time. Luckily, I was behind the tuba section so I waited for him to lean back, and I pooped into the top. No one noticed though because of how beautiful my violin sounded! I would highly recommend TunerLite as it tuned my violin to a level of beauty that nobody noticed me pooping into a tuba at the state orchestra.

Very very glitchy and not that accurate

TunerLite is great but when I play one string on the violin, the meter goes haywire. It keeps moving to opposite ends of the spectrum- so much so that there are many times when I don’t know whether the string is flat or not. Also, referring to the slight lack in accuracy, when I play a key on my piano it is read as slightly flat by when I play an open string which sounds the exact same, it’s read as extremely sharp- sometimes even a half step above the note it’s supposed to be. Besides these two points, TunerLite is good and convenient. However, I hope the developers are able to fix these issues.

One size fits all

It lays out a reasonable scale. Most great tuners who use electronic tuners to create a temperament, tune the tuner to the piano and then use the adjusted scale to guide the well tempered instrument. With TunerLite there is no such capability. The scale is laid out by primary tones as if it could be represented by 88 tuning forks that have been laid out as a temperament where one size fits all. It will work well enough on a practice piano in a music school but not for a recording or concert instrument.

Out of tune!

I got TunerLite for my violin and it seemed to work fine the first time I used it. Today I got out my violin and since I hadn’t messed with it for a couple days I wanted to check the it. I turned on TunerLite and it said all my strings were really out of tune. I assumed it was because of the humidity change in the air and went to retuning my violin. After several frustrating minutes I went to test my pitch with my electric piano and every note was WAY OFF! I decided to test TunerLite with the piano and TunerLite is wrong on every note. It reads a C as a D. It is either a half or whole step off on every note! Now I am trying to find an actual tuner so I can fix what TunerLite screwed up.

Simple but PERFECT!

I have been using this tuner for several years, and it is the best, and simplest one on the market. I no longer use any of my “dedicated hardware” tuners. My phone is always with me, and this tuner is “dead on” accurate! Save your money, and use TunerLite. Since my iPhone is always with me, I am NEVER without my tuner! I have been performing professionally for 53 years, and this is the BEST tuner on the market! Thanks!

Umm it’s ok

So I like TunerLite I have a B-flat trumpet but it’s set on an English trumpet and TunerLite cost $4.99 so I can switch it to a B-flat trumpet so every time I play I see it says it’s an egg every time I play a D it says it’s a C and it’s confusing the heck out of me right now so if you want it to say it to any other thing other than an English standard instrument then you need to pay $4.99 so that’s the only thing I don’t like about it I mean we should all have the opportunity to use some thing without having to pay for everything

Great free app.

Super quick and easy to use too, just like a dedicated tuner device. Best tuner I’ve ever had because every other one is lost. This one never gets lost because it’s on your phone. Unless you lose your phone but then you’ve probably got bigger problems. Unless it’s right before a gig. Maybe keep a backup tuner I. Your case. If you only use it as a backup maybe it won’t get lost.

Really?

I used TunerLite to tune my clarinet and when I played a C it said that it was VERY flat (-50) then for the next 10 minutes I kept on trying to get a perfect C and I couldn’t! Then I decided to test TunerLite with my piano, that was tuned shortly ago (a few months ago) I don’t play my piano that much, I play it about 30 minutes a day everyday and it’s in pretty good condition. I played a C on my piano and TunerLite said it was a D!Honestly I don’t know what to say about TunerLite, it works pretty good for others but I don’t understand what happened here! I’m giving TunerLite two stars for actually being able to detect sounds.

Why is it soo hard...

So I recently bought this new viola, that needed to be tuned. A4,D4,G3,C3 when I tune my A string and come as it perfect, then when I move to the next string. I go back to check if it’s going to give me my A4, but it always comes back F#3, but just a minute ago it was A3. It seems like TunerLite is giving my inaccurate tuning, it’s been a great app but I need my tuning to be correct. I do understand that the apps on my phone, but I go through these reviews about people having wonderful experiences, but I don’t. I’m going to try it out one more time, if TunerLite works I’ll continue using TunerLite .

Best loud easy to use metronome that’s free

All it takes is one finger to turn it on or adjust the tempo. I don’t have to put everything down pick it up etc.
Don’t bother paying for one yes there are ads there at the bottom I don’t even see them because I’m not looking at the metronome I’m listening to it. If I happen to look at it or my students do they don’t get in the way we don’t even notice them.

Works well

I have not compared it to other tuning apps so I cannot provide a comparison, but I’ve been very happy with it. I did agree with one review about switching the icons because I kept tapping the wrong icon for tuning my guitar, but I’ve learned which one to tap. I like that you can tune it down to the cent if you want to use a tuning other than A 440.

Ruined by the ads

I used to love TunerLite because I found it to work well. I would have given it 5 stars. The last time I tried to use it, though, there was an ad at the bottom that automatically expanded to engulf the entire screen with a video clip of a puppy. When I closed the full screen ad, it would pop back open again within a few seconds, rendering TunerLite completely useless. This problem persisted after closing and reopening TunerLite several times. Now I am on the search for another tuning app; a friend of mine uses PitchLab and it seems to work well for her, so I might give that one a try.

Pretty good app

It's a good app if you need a quick tune. I would not however substitute this for an actual chromatic tuner. The chromatic pitches are rather weak so it's hard to play an instrument with the tuner if needed (I play mainly acoustic instruments). Lastly, in my opinion the tuner is rather "noncommittal". At times it works but if the same note is played three or four times the subtle differences are not the same (the pitch is the same so there's a slight inaccuracy with TunerLite . Overall it's good but not the best and cannot be used with precise intonation practice purposes)

Last fix cleared longstanding mandolin g string issues

Maybe mandolins get no respect, but the previous update killed the ability to tune at all. Perhaps because of attention to my instrument of choice, the g string tuning is now much, much better. Thanks for dealing with this quickly and even making an improvement. Now if I can remember my apple id and password, I might even buy it

Finally!

I’ve gone through quite a few tuner apps, GuitarTuna etc. and they’re all about money for a custom tuning. I like to tune my guitars/bass/etc a bit low, I have a high b right now not an e, it works for me and my style. So nice to just have it dial in ANY note without having to work your way through a ridiculous menu or sign up or pay money. Thank you guys!

VERY IMPORTANT! MUST READ🤨

When I first bought TunerLite everything was fine and dandy.👍 It was a quick and easy way to tune all my instruments.🎻🎸🎤 I usually tune by myself at home with my flute, detach it and tune with my band at school. TunerLite worked well, until 1️⃣ day my tuner app said all my 🎶 were one 🎵 above were they were supposed to be. I was furious, I had a concert in two weeks😱😱 and I assumed my flute was broken... But something didn’t sit right with me 🧐 I went on my 🎹 to play an A🎵, my standard tuning note and the 🎹 and my flute were perfectly in tune🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯. The tuner app is EXTREMELY wrong. DO NOT USE TunerLite!!!!!!!
