Best place to track your anime/manga backlog - 4.5 out of 5

I’ll be honest, I’m writing a review because the reason behind the low ratings for Kitsu is people misunderstanding what “track your anime & manga” means. This is not a website and app created to watch or read; it is a beautifully pieced together list of even the worst CGI animations found on Crunchyroll. You can add anime to your library as Completed, Watching, On Hold, Want to Watch, and my favorite, Dropped. It’s got anything you could’ve ever read on it’s database too, such as webcomics and djs. You can indeed watch episodes on it as well if the episode so happens to be available for free on a legal website. It tells you where you can watch or read what you’re looking at. Soon there will be stats added back in as well.

What I’d like to see:
-Search your library!! Backlogs can get large and it’s an inconvenience to have to search the whole database or scroll through your library to find it
-Immediate age ratings next to a title, especially for NSFW!! I don’t enjoy having to read through the summary to figure out if the anime/manga I’m checking out is something I’d even be willing to look at
-Ability to add which characters are in an episode with a review system for admins?
-Characters in this anime/manga as a whole

Keep up the work and much love!

Love it two things tho

I love Kitsu it’s awesome for everything anime and manga. Although the old aozora was a little smoother and organised I know this one will get there too. I only have two suggestions. One is an improvement another is just an idea that I randomly thought of and I think would be really cool to add. The first is I really like the aomeme and aonews and aoart sub categories. It was really nice and I could just tap on one and look at whatever I was in the mood for. It would be awesome if you could bring those back. The second, and I am aware this might be kind of difficult, is you should be able to track otome games. Like instead of chapters read you could do characters completed and that really would be the only difference. Anyway I love Kitsu and I will continue to use it.

Best anime tracking app

This is hands down the best and most reliable anime tracking app I’ve ever used. The community built around it is great and stemmed well from back when it was Aozora. There are lots of fun stats, and I would recommend if you’ve never looked at the browser version to do so because there’s more features on that than Kitsu version. The only problem I’ve ever had with it is sometimes the search bar doesn’t work but they explained why and it did not last very long. And it looks like streaming through Kitsu is slowly coming back like it used to be so good things are ahead!!

Good but a setback

I would give it a 5-star rating but when I opened Kitsu I was logged out. And I was kinda confused I mean I didn't log out last time. But I was going to let that slide but when I went to log back in it told me that this wasn't correct. So I thought I did something wrong. I checked everything twice it stilled said it wasn't correct. And then u thought that I changed my password so I pressed forgot my password but that didn't work either. So that really bothered me. But when I was in my account everything was fine. So if you could please fix that then I would be fine.

Good at keeping track of animes

Honestly Kitsu is awesome, Kitsu keeps track of how many animes you have watched plus it also doesn’t lose its data. The part where you can watch the anime isn’t that great though, that’s why I didn’t give it a 5 star review, I think Kitsu is perfect if they just adjust it to where we can watch anime from Kitsu itself without having to pay, but even if Kitsu doesn’t do that I think Kitsu is for you if you need something to keep track of the amount of animes you’ve watched.

Nice, but only when it works

Even though you can’t watch anime or anything on it, it’s a great way to track the billion of anime I’ve watched and need to watch. You can also talk to people and write posts about anime you have watched. However, it does have a lot of issues and is rather slow at time, sometimes not loading/working at all. Idk why this is, but it’s kind of annoying when I’m trying to track what I’m watching. Otherwise, it’s a great app.

I finally figured out what this app is!!!!

At first when I downloaded Kitsu I was super excited and ready to watch anime’s and see if I like reading mangas. However it never worked when I clicked episode/chapters so after an hour of reading plenty of reviews I found out that Kitsu is not supposed to show anime. what it does is help you find neat anime and sort out what you want to watch and what you already did watch. Then you need to go to google and find someplace else to play the anime. In total Kitsu is not supposed to play videos nor is it made to view mangas all it is....is a dictionary for anime.

FIX THIS PLEASE!!

Hello, I myself love anime and all types of course I’ve probably read over 100 Anime series and what not, that’s mainly why I download a lot of apps for them and this is one of them, sadly I didn’t get to read ANYTHING because of the fact that when I click chapter 1 it just asks me “how was episode 1” when I haven’t read it yet because it wouldn’t let me so creator I beg of you PLEASE FIX THIS BUG ISSUE, if this wasn’t an issue I would’ve been reading at least like 50 anime’s none-stop so please fix this (note, this was not supposed to be offensive or anything I’m just stating a few bugs) Thank you

Can’t watch?

I just downloaded Kitsu today and I love how you can import data from different accounts. The problem here is I can’t watch anything. I’m trying to watch an episode of my anime but it wouldn’t let me. Another problem is when I changed my cover the picture from the old one, it wouldn’t change. I kept reloading but the old cover picture is still there. Is there any way to fix this? Other than this, I love everything about Kitsu. ❤️🤧

Needs an important feature

I enjoy the new layout however, there does not appear to be an advanced search option like in the previous app. This feature was the most important to me in that it allowed me to really find anime’s that fit my taste. As well as allowing me to search by whether or not the anime was finished for binge watching purposes. However, other than that Kitsu is still the best way for me to record and manage the various anime’s I have watched.

Suggestions to make the app better as faithful follower

I love Kitsu. I’ve used it for years. Bit of a suggestion, it would be cool if you added WEBTOONs to the list of tracking like you do manga. As WEBTOON is the first step to becoming a manga or anime. I have seen some webtoons on your list to track but would like to see it’s own platform. As well as a category for ENGLISH Dubbed anime’s among others. I’ve seen a lot of anime and it would be cool to go through the English list and find what I haven’t seen yet!

Great place for tracking and socializing

Though it’s main purpose is for anime and manga tracking the community and social media aspect of this app makes it a must have for anime fans. this app offers an experience all it’s own. Unlike most of the mal community, the this app community is very welcoming and inviting to new comers. And it offers the privacy that similar apps like Amino can’t match. 5/5 even with the flaws it has.

an amazing app if you know its uses

this app isn’t for watching anime, it’s like myanilist where it lets you track which animes and manga you’ve gone through. one of the really useful features is how it lets you link your anilist or myanimelist account so you don’t have to go through the trouble of finding them again. extremely helpful when looking for anime recommendations, as well as connecting with other users. you can make updates and receive advice from others, as well as post reactions to the episodes you watch. i like it since i’m not a fan of horror and get freaked out easily, so i always ask others before watching certain shows. it’s a really great app and user friendly, i recommend!

Good concept, but crashes

While I’m in the middle of searching for animes for a good few minutes, Kitsu will crash and take me off of it. It gets annoying at times, but the concept of Kitsu makes up for it. I like having a space to keep all my shows that I’ve watched in one place. And there’s a good variety of shows that Kitsu has that I’m amazed of its collection. So despite the crashes, that alone saves Kitsu from me ditching it.

Super disappointed

I went in Kitsu and much to my surprise, NOTHING would load. I tried waiting, deleting and downloading again, and even logging out, to no avail. Before I logged out, there would be no change. Now, I can’t get back in despite knowing that I’m using the right password, and I’m super upset all my listings are now lost to me. I can’t even get to the website. I really love Kitsu and use it often to chat, keep track of my already finished show, and just see the upcoming releases. I really hope this gets fixed soon.
