Still haven't fixed the biggest problems

The ongoing problem is that the outlines of states, countries, and provinces are so faint that it's almost impossible to make them out. I also notice that in hybrid view they don't show up at all now. Nice going with that feature; it looks exactly like the satellite view now. It's also impossible to tell whether you're looking at the border of a country or a province, because the lines are all drawn the same way in hybrid mode. Speaking of hybrid mode, why do I have to select it every single time I open iMaps ? It never remembers the mode. Ever. Finally, the same problem with the shrinking text exists in this latest version: If you zoom in to better see road numbers, for example, the number shrinks down again so you're no farther ahead. If the image gets bigger when you expand it, the text should get bigger when you expand it. Otherwise iMaps should come with a magnifying glass. Why the developers don't spend some time on usability issues like this I don't know, but these updates don't deserve all the self-congratulatory fanfare while these problems persist.

Love it!

I love the pointer that shows which direction you are going, when streetview cruising.

I have an idea that I've been looking for, for years: ok, so you place a mark on a map, then a second mark, and then get all the info that you would get if you typed in addresses in the "to" and "from" fields... Such as, distance between points, directions from one point to the other, option to label points, etc. this way, if we are already looking at a place on the map, we can set a point there, just like we can on regular maps, HOWEVER, we can set a second point, and opt to get directions from the first point to that second point. I don't know how many times I've had to copy and paste addresses when it would be easier to tap and get directions. You can name it iPoints.

Street view from contacts is a crap shoot . . .

Previous operating systems for the I-pad had this feature built in making it possible to look at streetview of a house or address from contacts in your address book. With the new I-pad this feature doesn't work anymore. I assumed iMaps would restore this feature. It sort of works but often does not show the correct house or address. Knowing what my house looks like and friend's houses look like I was able to drive up or down the street or look on the opposite side of the street. However, for the most part, it's a random view of a street somewere or someplace if you have no idea what the house or address is that you're looking for from your contacts. iMaps may have other features or qualities but street view from contacts is why I purchased iMaps and it doesn't work as well as expected.

Let people know about this!

I saw this street view on someone’s phone long before I had a smartphone- and after catching up and coming into the 21st century with the iPhone, I was always disappointed I never had that view i remembered once seeing. I do all the contributor activities and have all the ‘google’ map apps and iMaps takes it to a different level. Luckily, i happened to STUMBLE across it and as much ‘iPhone understanding’ as I THINK I have, I knew nothing about it! Please get a billboard, sky writers, or cigars made that alert others of this magnificent advancement! Thank you

Worth every penny

as an armchair traveler I love this program. I use it to look at everything. It is super fast and super efficient ; now they have had to add a fee due to Google charging fees for their access but for me it's totally worth it. Google maps has certain limitations and this program lets me do Street view with a lot of functions that I can't do the other way. Some people on the Internet whine if they ever have to pay a subscription and I try to avoid them too but in this particular case it is worth every penny. This is probably my favorite app. Bob Cook

Excellent - far superior to Google Maps app

The views provided by this map are far superior to those of the Google Map app. iMaps provides full screen view of the map, unlike the Google app, which uses 1/3 of the screen showing frequently unwanted information. I frequently want to view large areas at a time, which iMaps makes possible. In addition, the user interface is well thought out and effective.

Great map

Everything workers great but I can't get rid of the black label that tells me where I am at all time. Even when I touch the map elsewhere to get rid of it. It comes back up after a few seconds. The arrow is good but the black strip with the guy on it just blocks roads and names I want to see. Otherwise is has great traffic detail. Finding places close to you works great as well. They just have to get rid of the street view guy and his label.

Makes you pay.

Can’t even do something as basic as directions between two addresses without paying $5 first.

Was the best map app until the subscription model started

I paid for iMaps years ago, and it has been by far the best mapping app until it went subscription. I had pointed a friend at iMaps , who downloaded the new version right after they changed over the payment model. It was far too expensive to bother with, when there are free and low cost options that will do the job. I never updated, and will happily use my old version until it stops working, but this company will never get a cent in subscription fees from me.

Screenshots Lie

Screen shots indicate it would show a moving map, this only downloads google turn by turn for the watch. If you expect a moving map do not buy. If you want dangerous to read tiny text that will likely cause an accident this is iMaps for you. Useful GPS screens are well established, and are not text based turn by turn lists. Fix the watch gui, quick glance should show turn arrow over map, with option to display distance. Big, high contrast, should be able to get all info in 1/2 second glance.

Map changes

Purchased iMaps years ago and it worked great. They recently went to a subscription base which I paid for. Now I can’t get a street view from my 100 + contacts which is why I use iMaps (you can from bookmarks). Support went silent on me with this problem. Will look for a new app and stop payment on my credit card. But don’t worry, they added a great “Worthless” temperature reading on their map! I’m sure everyone wanted this and not a street view.

MY FAVORITE MAP

As someone who grew up with AAA maps and Triptiks, I love looking at maps when I'm planning a trip. Now I've graduated to maps on my iPad and this is my map of choice. I hated having to pay for a subscription this year, but I didn't want to lose this easy-to-use app.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

I bought this because I wanted to have a google like layout for my Apple Watch instead of having to use apples this app. The image previews are completely misleading and falsely advertise the features it shows. App only downloads another to do features that don’t even work. I truly wish I could get my money back considering after 5 minutes of having it, I figured out that it was pretty much a scam. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I would give less then 1 star if possible.

Dropped Pin lists no city

I still love using iMaps. However, when I drop a pin on a location it no longer lists the city, just the approximate route and address. Is there a way that dropping a pin will also list the city again please? Thanks.

Dependable

I can always depend on this app+ on our trips across the US. It shows me where to find gas stations, restaurants, and sights right down to their street. This is the only map you need.

I was just go around all the world

iMaps tells us a lot about where we’re going and when you press the arrows it

iMaps

Anytime I've ever used this app it's been easy and has gotten me to my destination quickly and correctly. I have had trouble with Google maps multiple times, so I love my this app!

Good

Used to be better but now Waze is the ruler! The regular google map gives you street view as well so I don't see the point of having it. I still keep it because I paid for it.

A Worthwhile app

Since the Google maps are hard to use with iPad this neatly fills the bill.

Still preferable to google maps. I still like it a lot.

Interiors of buildings NOT helpful

I have conveyed people to addresses all over the northeastern seaboard for over 4 decades; and NEVER has an interior picture of a restaurant or hotel been used as a navigational aide. The current practice of using a hotel's dining room or rooftop bar in place of the buildings exterior does not help someone get to their destination safely. Your mapping system is good. (It was great before those stupid interior pictures.)
