I’ve used this for a year after paying the $70 for a yearly subscription. During that year, those app has been sporadically useful at best. At it’s worst, it made my phone useless. When it would connect, it worked just fine. But that’s the problem. Most of the time it was searching for a server or ... Show more would connect to one overseas that would make using the internet like you were using late 90’s dialup. Other times, I would have to reboot my phone multiple times a day just to get a connection. When I reported these problems, the response was “delete CyberGhost then reinstall.” That work for all of a day then the problems returned. When my subscription expires in a day, I will definitely not be wasting any more of my money on this garbage app and I suggest you do the same.

I needed a VPN to watch my shows while studying abroad and I literally can’t even stream my shows without constant freezing and loading screens. The only way to turn off the VPN is to delete and redownload CyberGhost , which is ridiculous. Then i have to restart my wifi, reconnect, redownload the VPN and restart it and then the whole battle starts all over again. On a very rare good day i can maybe watch one episode of one show with a little bit of freezing here and there. That’s it. Since this is a paid service you would think that it would actually work but nope. I’ve had the VPN since March and i have barely even used it because 1. It makes watching my shows sooo irritating and 2. Even if i keep it on just for general protection I can’t even do simple things like send a text or surf my social media feed. Completely worthless. Ridiculous. Waste of money. Do not get CyberGhost.

The iPhone has a built in VPN indicator that shows when a vpn is active or not active. CyberGhost also has a notification system that notifies you when the vpn is active and when it deactivates (unreliable). The main issue is that the vpn will disconnect frequently. Every time you unlock you phone or every once in a while you use CyberGhost the vpn symbol will pop up on the iPhone screen indicating that it was off and just turned on. The whole point of a vpn is to be continually on, not to turn off when less activity occurs. I contacted customer service they were fast and respectful but did not have a solution for the problem. I have to give it one start because CyberGhost kinda works but you can’t kinda have good security.

I got Ghost due to my trip overseas Dec 2019. I wanted an extra layer of protection for internet connection on the hotel wifi.

The mobile version of Ghost, cuts in and out. If your phone goes to sleep Ghost goes to sleep, which fine. Yet, when the phone wakes up, Ghosts blocks the very WiFi... Show more you need to connect, thus forcing the user to disable Ghost. In order to disable Ghost, you basically have to delete CyberGhost , as it basically controls the IPhone 8 Plus VPN. After you’ve done all that, then you can connect back to the wifi, reinstall Ghost, and turn it on for VPN protection.

Once connected on the mobile WiFi, expect delays. Also expect Ghost to not always pick the closet VPN. I’m in Los Angeles for the weekend.. Ghost had my VPN in Atlanta, GA? Yet, there’s a few VPN locations near by.

Look I get it. It’s software and every phone is different. Yet, they present themselves as if their software works well regardless of the hardware. The worst part is their tech support... they hide behind emails and Tweets. Yet, they force you buy their service for the laptop... which it works way better than mobile.

Frankly, if you need a VPN, explore other options.

The vpn is still logged as working and active (ha ha) in settings. I did not bother putting it on any of my other devices and did not bother reviewing it till now because it's got so many high reviews (from appreciative hackers masquerading as their would-be victims?) I'm out the money and, worse, out of faith that anything out there works to stop hackers who know how to hack.

I started using a VPN because of all the data links. this app is one of the top rated. So of course I’m paying the subscription fee. I turned my VPN on last night and it crashed my internet entirely. Also, I couldn’t turn the VPN off because you have to have internet connection to use it. But the VPN itself was blocking my own internet and it was apparently a vicious cycle. I had to delete CyberGhost in order for my internet to work. I just paid for my month subscription and now I’m not even sure I want to continue using this specific company. I would love it if someone from this app could reach out to me.

I was really quite pleased with the previous version, as a new user it seemed simple and intuitive yet gave plenty of options. I particularly liked that it gave you visual feedback that it was protecting you while using various specific feature (streaming vs. surfing). Behold this new "simpler" i... Show more nterface which is basically no interface at all. You now have virtually NO control over what CyberGhost does and somewhat limited control over location picking. I wasn't looking for the change, and the old interface was perfect. Why the change? Also, warning for new users - the set-up for CyberGhost is NOT intuitive, the purchase to setting up a user ID to getting CyberGhost to function required about 15 minutes on line with a tech support rep. Nothing to do with CyberGhost itself per se, more how the purchase to launch process is...complicated.

Granted just recently they just released a software update. FYI Security application on iOS device has reduced internet speed when not using private WiFi. Only basing off on cell towers. Modified settings however upon motion detection on video services or watching live feed become choppy. Changed o... Show more ther cities closer or that would have better connectivity. Reset both applications including re-logging onto accounts. Took the necessary precautions to change password to prevent cyber intrusions. Any other suggestions would be highly appreciative. In addition just made various attempts to contact support to report a problem under the application however unsuccessful but found other alternatives to the problem to reach out. The service is great and the price is awesome for those on a budget. As a student, public WiFi is where I spend most of my time on the internet to surf and look up useful study information. With the addition of a VPN service, though not 100% foolproof, gives me the chance to feel a bit more protect... Show more ed when checking bank accounts and personal emails and such.

I do wish that CyberGhost provided more opportunities to pick and choose locations of where I can connect to. The interface is simple and easy to navigate though.

Overall, CyberGhost is really great. I just think that it’s missing a few useful things. Someone I knew who is now deceased did some grand scale things. You wouldn’t believe it if i told you, also, the account would be in poor taste. It was incredible though. Almost forgot. You’ll have an epiphany once you realize just how distracted and straight up censored your version of the tip of the iceberg really is. Knowledge should be free. Its the only way we will survive as a species in an at least semi-comfortable or fulfilling state. Its very frustrating conceptualizing all the time and energy you already have wasted not finding exactly what you need. Or not being able to view certain things in general. And I’m not talking obviously illegal things. Basic stuff like news and cutting edge tech.

Great app easy to use and have had no real issues or problems as of yet since subscribing to CyberGhost. I was on the market for a VPN service for a while now, I live abroad and just didn't find it fair paying for a streaming service and not getting all the shows available because of my location even though I paid them American coins so I was tired of it. Show more nt with ExpressVPN until I saw this app and everything about it appealed to me especially the yearly price that really gives you 18 months of service for like $42dlls instead of the $140 for 18 months from the above mentioned VPN service. I read reviews, comments and decided to get it since it has a money back guarantee but I'm sure now I won't be needing it because this does everything we want. I can browse US websites and streaming services where I live with no problem and the speed is for the most part amazing (sometimes theres barely a lag but it fixes itself quickly), honestly a freaking heaven sent lol. If you want an affordable VPN that's safe and doesn't cost you a ton with the same tools as ExpressVPN then I def recommend this app :)

This review is an update to my last review. We have used the “Ghost” for more than a year. Living in Florida, my Italian wife of 55 years and I have strong ties to Italy. Every evening, emphasis on the word “every”, we, at 7:00pm, activated the Ghost and watched exceptionally well done, Italian pr... Show more ograms. That is until last week. When I activated the Ghost, I could not lock on to any server in Milano or Roma. No matter which one I selected, it would default to one server in Milano. When, using that IP address, I tried to open the RAI app and got the message saying, in effect, “you are not in Italy”. For us, this is really sad. That said, I am puzzled that I can’t select any of the listed IP addresses. In selecting an IP address, I have not yet tried to open the RAI app or web address.

As for the Ghost, we have been very impressed with its rock solid performance, ease of use and stability. Excellent. If you need VPN, we highly recommend it

After forestalling the acquisition of a VPN method way too long, (I'm probably already all over the "darque whebb") I read thru a few reviews and liked what I found regarding this app. I threw money at them and I am more than satisfied with the software's performance to date. My iMac with "High S... Show more ierra" transacts with their servers readily at boot up and establishes a solid channel to their servers. I also loaded the "ghost" on two iPhones and an iPad. It locks in the VPN whether I'm on my home WiFi, a grocery store WiFi or when I am crossing the "fruited plains" communicating with AT&T's cell network.
I cannot testify to the quality of their security levels (I haven't hired a reputable hacker to break into my system) so I'll leave this at the user observation of "it loads good" and wish you all a good evening. If you did not obtain an approved subpoena, or you don’t own the property you are tracking, or you are not legally vested in that property, then it is against the law to track that person/property. If you think someone you are dating (not married) is cheating on you, then leave them! You do not have the right to track them everywhere they go. It’s also dangerous to illegally track people you don’t know bc they could think you are trying to do body harm or rob them which may cause them to defend themselves on an entirely different level.

I have had to write to them repeatedly on this. Several aspects of phone function like updates are constantly cycling and repeating or not working correctly. I’ve sent them screenshots and since they are expert enough to set up this network and have the computer skills I think they know what they’re doing. Especially since the box for Apple ap store pay info has altered and keeps asking about the credit card I used as a way to block updates.

I can only get on the internet if I disable cyber ghost. As soon as I turn it on, my wifi connection cuts off. Tried cyber ghost on my iPhones 5, 5S, 8 and iPad and the issue persists across the board. Got a brand new Galaxy S10 and installed this crap and was horrified that I couldn't stream anyth... The screen would buffer and buffer and every once in a while (like 10th try) I would actually get more than a black screen - an image or half a sentence, but then it would be buffering again. Bought ExpressVPN and all my devices work beautifully!!! SO FAST AND EFFORTLESS!!! And of course cyber ghost refuses to refund my expensive 3 year plan!!! If you are reading this - save yourself from this scam and head right over to ExpressVPN and don't lose your money for nothing!!!

I was trying out the free trial, when I noticed the area in the settings that tells you how many devices are in use, said 3/7 when only one device was in use. The only other complain was that I couldn’t switch to another server in the same city without having to disconnect. And since I can’t see server loads, I didn’t know which to pick once I disconnected, and letting it pick the “best location” would always pick my city, which I didn’t want. The whole point of a vpn is to switch locations.

CyberGhost is great for keeping my information safe but I've had problems with Netflix ever since I signed up with this app. I get an error message if I start the Netflix app and can't watch anything unless I disconnect the VPN. Also the streaming servers are limited to UK and US servers but my f... Show more avorite show is only viewable in Japan unless I wait for the international release of each season which happens maybe one month from the end of the season. Even when I use the streaming servers Netflix can still recognise that I'm using a VPN and a notification pops up asking me to "please disconnect from my VPN or proxy". I've already bought 3 years subscription so this is disappointing. I wouldn't recommend CyberGhost specifically for Netflix.

Perhaps you could add an option to delay auto start of wifi? Some wifi requires the initial “accept terms” in a browser window after connecting. I found that I got an error when CG connected before they authenticated the wifi. Otherwise, working well so far.

Got to take away another star,... Show more down to 3. I bought this to better protect on public wifi. It seems some of them have counter-measures to prevent the use of VPNs. First I had trouble with the initial connection. Then, I guess the wifi has to periodically ping some network server and when it was on VPN just disconnected instead. Will try on more wifi networks on my free trial and update the rating.

This is the best VPN service I have tried out of five, and I love the feature that tells you which connection points have been "optimised" for my different apps/services/needs. (i.e., this one is best for Netflix, that one is best for HBO, etc.) However, the connection speeds are a bit unpredictabl... I’m not sure what could be done about this, if anything at all given the nature of VPN services, but it would be nice if they could fix that a little bit.

New to CyberGhost . Had NordVPN which is good. But I’m on a limited budget reasonable monthly plan, and I was having some connection issues with Nord. Show more d, I’ve found turning it on has improved my download speed when trying to do something. It automatically comes on when my phone is trying to sign on public WiFi. So far I’m impressed and happier with this VPN/Security software then any I’ve used in the past. :-)

The VPN is awesome CyberGhost even helps make things easier when you are looking for help in streaming. It truly is a top rate VPN that offers everything you need in a VPN. My only complaint is the router support. I did reach out to them and they told my they don’t have a work around for all route... Show more rs but mostly it seems that if you flash your router then you can use one of their supported programs to run the VPN tunnel on your router. Chalk it up to user error or not having enough experience with routers but other then that it’s a great app. I would give it 4.5 but can’t so here we are.

I have experienced difficulties when... Show more a network requires an additional login after initial connection (e.g. at a hotel). I have to turn off this app and then connect to the network. The pop-up page is prevented from appearing. It is not a show stopping issue, just an inconvenience.
