Instashare Air Drop Reviews

I found InstashareAirDrop after another popular inter-OS/Platform file transfer app went down, and at the time it was a life saver. I downloaded it for my MacBook Pro, iPhone 6, and my Windows PC, going so far as to obtain a paid license.....now a year or two later, file transfers are riddled with disruptions and failed transfers, especially when transferring from iPhone to PC, which now fails 90% of the time, and when I try to do this vice versa, my PC detects my iPhone, but won’t send any files and my iPhone never gets sent anything at all. After investigating the developers website, TWOMANSHOW appears to have become a no man show, with the ship sailing and no captain anymore.
Their site is riddled with missing images and broken links, including their support page link on the iOS App Store.....it’s a real shame because InstashareAirDrop had all the potential to be a 5 star VIP!!! But now it’s quickly becoming a mediocre and frivilous venture into madness as I slowly return to resorting to a lightning cable and SynciOS software.....come on guys! InstaShare was an amazing app and still can be! Don’t let her die!

InstashareAirDrop claims that you can use your, what I assume and hope is your local Wi-Fi connection only, and also Bluetooth to transfer files between devices. While I can attest that transferring files with Wi-Fi works just fine for me. My testing for Bluetooth transfers didn't work at all.

I am using my iPhone 6 Plus and iPad Air 2 to transfer files between and I thought I would try doing this with just Bluetooth. So, I turned off my Wi-Fi connection on both my iPhone and iPad, then turned Bluetooth on for both. But, neither app on either device was able to locate the other one just using Bluetooth.

Maybe using Bluetooth only, works for other Instashare users. But it doesn't work for me at all. Which, is quite the disappointment really. Because, I was hoping to have a system to use when I had no Wi-Fi signal available, to let me transfer files between my Apple devices. Had InstashareAirDrop worked with Bluetooth only, I most definitely would have purchased the ad-free, Pro version, of Instashare.

I hope and ask that the developer figure out why this wouldn't work for me and please release an update that fixes the issue please. Thanks and God bless.

I've used both We Transfer and Zapya and instead hare hands down is the better of the three apps. I needed something to air drop from my PC as seamlessly as my iPhone and MacBook do. Instashare I feel does even better than air drop does. Very easy interface to use. I did purchase InstashareAirDrop as that may be the only downside but for the price of $6 (the desktop app and iPhone no add app) I am able to easily increase my productivity and workflow as a photographer and editor. Give instashare a try!

This could be the best apo for files transfer by only adding passcode lock and maybe the possibility to access via a web address instead of always having to use the Desktop app. Still, it is very good.

InstaShare (had a different name at the time) used to be a phenomenal app.
It circumvented so many of the issues that popped-up when attempting to get anything off your PC or even Mac (and other Apple devices).

Now it’s just stuck.

It freezes, crashes, has ads (yea, that’s correct: pay again for something you already paid for just so you aren’t harassed by poop-up ads.

I digress.

What was once a fantastic app, an app I was thrilled to see available again, is a buffering nightmare that crashes, doesn’t open, can’t connect and ultimately just ‘spins’ at you.

Can’t recommend, unless you’re going for torture by app. In that case, this might be a good option for you.

I tweeted Instashare about how my devices are not communicating for transfer and still did not receive a response for days later.
I purchased InstashareAirDrop to help me upload a video and it didn't work.
Sometimes when I hover the clipboard txt to send from my phone, it pops up only in my computer's Bluetooth menu. When I attempt to drop to my phone from the computer, Instashare app says it needs port 1234 open.

Did this for an hour and a half. Had both devices 6plus and 8plus both connected to same WiFi and then with Bluetooth and then both WiFi and Bluetooth on, no device found and no more directions than what is offered in app preview. Probably works with the paid version no ads but definitely not this one.

Trying to transfer between 9.3.6 5s and newer iPhone. Transfer fails with unhelpful, cryptic “Item transfer error Broken pipe Transfer state: 3”. With last update 2 years ago, seems to be abandonware. (:-( Transferred images have transfer date - no apparent option for (expected, preferable) original date.

Transfer from iPhone to computer to iPad just drop away. Easy when you have a house full of iOS and Windows 10

AirDrop doesn't work for me because I have an older Mac. I was very happy to find this alternative. So far is working as promised.

My old iPad does not have blue tooth, I am glad I found the best way to transfer files bw iPad and iPhone.

The iPhone app works, but the pc version crashes as soon as I open it, and the error reporter can't find an address to send the error to, meaning this is my only way of contacting the developers.

Any large file like 80 or 100mb video file fails every time. Both phone and laptop pop up an error saying transfer interrupted by other side. Only seems to work well with small files.

What used to be one of my favorite app apparently is no longer supported. My PC says trial expired (its a paid copy) then goes to an error message so I can’t even try to fix it. Repeated emails to support have gone unanswered

Works great with my MacBook when transferring big files to iPad

Crashed after installation. Multiple reinstalls and reboots (trying to move data from iPhone to Windows laptop). Emailed and tweeted at app support—-nothing. Absolutely no response. They will just take your money and run.

Thank you for playing. It found my iPad and iPhone, started to transfer a picture, failed, and 10 minutes of my life are gone forever.

Works as expected, simple uncluttered and easy to use, nice clean ui, unobtrusive adds.
