Trouble gaining access

I have been trying to set up an account to no avail. I input all the requested data and once I reach the end of the form, create and account quickly flashes at the bottom of the screen and then disappears. Also, Social Work is an option the specialties for Social Work aren’t broad enough. I hope you take my concerns serious enough to discuss amongst your team. Good Day.

Can’t get it to work

I’ve used Read for years. It was really great. But a month or so ago I stopped being able to use it because I was not able to enter a password to login as the keyboard didn’t open. I could enter an email to login; just not a password. Hope this gets this app by developers. I will remove 1 star immediately once I can login. I have iPhone SE.

Feature request for a five star app!

I like the new layout, faster pdf link detection compared to the previous versions, however I miss a key feature, the ability to swipe between abstracts. I have to close an abstract to be able to this app the next one, it would be nice to be able navigate by swiping between them.

Also would be nice to have the collage view in the My journal. While I this app abstracts from one journal, I do not want to see the list of journals, it is distracting, and uses valuable screen space.

Thank you however for the great app.

Buggy

I have confirmed my sign up in my email and had it re-sent several times and it still prompts me to verify my subscription. Also my saved keywords get deleted almost instantly and Read doesn’t save them - I have to re-enter my search tearms constantly. If you could name your keyword search something else so a long string of search terms wouldn’t take up the whole page, that would be useful. Otherwise, this seems like a great idea for an app, love the connection to my library holdings

3/5 Stars because...

Great idea, but many journals are missing...journals of pharmacy for example that have many useful studies. The impact factor is certainly not the same as NEJM; however, much information about therapy can be gleaned including many good review articles. Furthermore, I think having filters for types of articles/studies, RCT, retrospective, review, etc is very useful to eliminate alert/information fatigue. Awesome idea, needs more work, many thanks!

Will update review if these features are introduced.

More filter functions

Read is pretty great for exploring articles and keywords of interest. However, I wish it had more filtering functions. For example, under the Keywords page I could also filter for my journals of interest. This could be applied to the other tabs as well. If it’s already integrated then I wish it was made more obvious or easier to access.

Love it

Read is perfect and I love the emails that send newly published articles. The only thing I’d change is the ability to easily search through your own saved articles as it doesn’t seem Iike you can do so. You have to physically scroll through collections to look for the specific paper. Otherwise, Read is fantastic and I use it regularly!

Few things to improve

This is a great app. Amazing. Few things to improve . 1) Of late, app doesn’t seem to refresh. There might be a bug somewhere 2). Institutional access list doesn’t seem to be comprehensive. Inclusion of HINARI & Research4Life access is important.

Edit: The force refresh option is still not working consistently on ios15. This is very much troubling

Fantastic app

This is an amazing app and a must have for any medical professional. Read makes it easy to keep up with the latest advancements in academia and research and brings it all to you

Wonderful update

This is the most useful app,it made it easier to discover articles that interest me, also with the new UI Read is perfect Now, great job,Thank you very much.

Great app to track and push research interested papers

In addition, Read can link well to other apps, so you can use this one to track papers, and use other apps to manage papers.

Great app

Great app! Great support for the higher resolution XS and pro devices. We did notice an recurring issue with newer arcticles, likely those published ahead of print. The issue results in a PDF of an unrelated article in a different language being downloaded. This does not correct a month later if it already downloaded the incorrect article. We love Read . Can you fix this bug though?

Review

Read is my portable library. I come from the age of Index Medicus when articles were retrieved manually. I don’t know how I could keep up without this type of service.

Continues to be the best

I’ve used this app for about 5 or 6 years and continue to be impressed. Once linked with library holdings there is no easier way to get and organize scientific literature in full text pdf form. On top of everything it’s still free. The only thing missing is a polished non-mobile platform (ie for my laptop). It’s there but there is definitely a stylistic and functional gap btw that and the iOS version. Still 5 star and highly recommended.

An essential app

Definitely one of my go to apps. Like all updates I cleared cache, rebooted and let it re index.

This update give me just about everything I had been asking for. Native share sheets, can copy PMID if you have to go somewhere else to download full text. No longer matters what orientation you have it when trying to share. Better sharing to collections.

I did have to log back into my library but that was no problem.

Still one of my primary go to apps

Indispensable

There’s only one way to keep up with the literature in topics that interest me: have somebody else do it for me. And since I can’t afford somebody else, this app does it for me. And it whines a lot less plus I don’t have to buy it a Christmas present. Of course, I am writing a letter of recommendation for it, so maybe that’s a wash. But it doesn’t whine.

Love the learning, great app and 2 requests

The overall access to content is awesome. The notifications and areas of interest are great tools to keep up to date on the latest research.

I have 1 reasonable request and 1 pipe dream. Could the articles be searchable for your keyword so that it is highlighted and indexed? Could technical words be linked to a definition?

Awful now, used to be a great app

Read started to work out great, had all the features that you need to be updated with all the latest articles. Now however, Read does not update any journals. I have to delete Read and reinstall it to make its basic function work.

Great app except of most recent update

Great app here and I use it frequently. Unfortunately the most recent update didn’t do much to change Read expect now you have to login EVERY TIME you use Read . Please fix this. It makes checking out articles on the fly between patients extremely tedious.

Must have for physicians

I don’t know how I functioned before having Read. The only request I have...there are some journals I know that I should have access to with institutional login but I can never access them. Can this be fixed?

Happy with this app, slight tweak suggestions

I use Read all the time if I need to find an abstract or article; it’s a lot easier than pulling up Pubmed on my phone or iPad. The only area for improvement I can see is support of Dark Mode, both for Read overall and for the screen that comes up when you save a PDF.

Also for the last couple of weeks I’ve noticed that my badge count stays at 1 even if I’ve looked over all of the ‘new’ abstracts in my feed and subscriptions.

Very Useful

Very useful. Helps to find the articles and let you know of them. Wish there were more resources to get the actual articles.
