Conjuu - French Conjugation Reviews

I installed this on my iPad and paid for Conjuu but on my iPhone I have to purchase it again. If you have to pay per device, even with family sharing enabled. You need to pick the device you want to use it with or you will have to purchase it more than once.

There are free apps out there that have more verbs but this one has tests for you to remember them to get proficient.

I did purchase the full app and I also tried the restore purchases link to no avail.

First off, I really like the features and UX of this application. I like that I can flag verbs that I need to work on more, select tenses to study, and both see and hear the verbs.

I’m really looking forward to expanding my vocabulary of French verbs with Conjuu!

But then I noticed the verb “assister” translated as “to assist,” which is a classic mistake. “Assister” means “to attend.” It makes me think that the developer does not really speak French, and it calls into question all of the rest of the vocabulary. How can I trust this as a source for expanding my knowledge?

I love the quizzes. Nothing like random verbs and tenses to keep you on your toes.

I’ve paid for the entire program and have noticed there are missing tenses or moods. I didn’t give it the “fine tooth comb” examination, but the Imperative is missing. Please improve the extent in a future update.

I second everything said already about Conjuu : very clean and functional. Good job developer! Two flaws, however:

1) The dev should make an OSX version of Conjuu , or allow it to run on M1 Macs. Conjugations are best typed on a keyboard. I’m currently using a Bluetooth keyboard + iPad, but it’s not an ideal solution. Most annoyingly, iPad does not recognise long-press of keys on Bluetooth keyboards, meaning I have to use the option key to make accented characters. Clunky.

2) The conjugation for crever is wrong. It is a stem-changing verb, including in the conditionnel and futur tenses. Compare the this app verb chart for crever to the one found on wordreference or La Rousse.

9/7/21 - I see from the reviews that go back 7 years that Conjuu has been out awhile. I wish I had known about it. I bought it yesterday after discovering it. And, I quickly reviewed it and found a bug that showed the mistakes made in practice aren’t always showing up for every word or so on glancing at the overview page while Practice is active and so one can’t realize all their mistakes. The Designer of this app French was contacted immediately. Hopefully they’ll make a correction. Could give a better rating!

EDIT (8/9/22) Developer shared responses with me earlier, around when I first got app but on this day gave my first ever response received for a review. I’m glad Conjuu will still be developed. Nice. I want to key in on the development for ***MacOS*** I saw someone comment this. Many apps are still developing this optimization! I’ll use it on this source too. [I just don’t have a capable computer yet]. I’d prefer the better visibility. I look forward to the update. Still room to improve :)

I'm learning French and my conjugation of verb tenses is weak. And, I'll be in Paris for the very first time in a month. I always thought conjugating verbs was boring, but I needed Conjuu out of necessity.

As it turns out, Conjuu is addicting! I'm improving very quickly and they make it fun. Conjuu covers all verb tenses, although you can choose which ones to practice. It's better, though, to select all and let them throw any verb and verb tense at you at random.

It only costs an extra US $7 for the expansion pack. If you don't want the expansion, you're stuck with conjugating the most basic verbs and tenses. It's well worth it. These developers deserve to get paid. Bravo et merci!

This is an EXCELLENT app! It has everything you need, nicely organized so it doesn't feel overwhelming and it doesn't feel like a boring textbook. It is clean and simple and is like a game. It has charts for each word it tests you on. You can set goals. There are mini explanations. Now if only I could find this for a few other foreign languages!😍

Simply the best. On my wish list is 500 more verbs. I have been using Conjuu. for about two years religiously. It’s simply the best, making it fun to learn a difficult part of learning French. More verbs please!

Of the many apps and e-drills I use to practice French, this one is my go-to favorite. I never thought I'd enjoy conjugating verbs. Conjuu uses a copy feature to avoid lengthy writing, it includes a quick review when necessary, and offers definitions for each verb. Face it. French verbs can be very complicated. Conjuu effectively pushes me to practice.

I use Conjuu in between studying from books and lessons to really cement the knowledge I learned. It’s simple but it helps with an assuredness in your recall which helps build a confidence in speaking. I’m impressed and delighted with the current update, it can only get better from here ;). Download it, use it, better yourself.

This is a perfect daily exercise. I spend about 20 minutes a day with Conjuu. It's well thought out, accurate, and doesn't try to teach you the entire language. It boosts your vocabulary and ability to conjugate. The paid expansion isn't required but it's absolutely worth the small price.

Conjuu has been critical in my language learning endeavor. One suggestion I have is instead of simply saying « Bonjour » as a reminder, if it could challenge the students to conjugate a random word, would be amazing!

You can select which verb tenses and groups to be quizzed on. You can even choose which verbs. I love the audio feature so I can hear how to pronounce everything. And using the « copy » button is great too, so you still have to come up with everything on your own but you don’t have to type every last letter.

I use Conjuu and Duolingo French to retain and improve on what I’ve learned in my French class. When I don’t feel like learning new vocabulary, I use this to brush up on my conjugations. Aside from grammar, the conjugations are the hardest for me. The only critique I can give is that I wish the voices weren’t computerized. I wish there were a native speaker saying the verb conjugations.

I’m living in Paris for 5 months and taking the opportunity to revive my high school french, unused for 40 years! Verb conjugations are a huge part of what I need to re-learn, and there’s no better way to that than to do drills. Conjuu is perfect for that. Great interface, clean and easy to use. It has everything you need right there. Glad I found it!

I studied French for 6 years, and while I have a good brain for languages, verb conjugations were always intimidating (there are just so many ways to be wrong). This is my new favorite way to pass the time on the train. Thanks for helping me keep all those years of learning from going to waste!

I am an intermediate level french student studying independently. Conjuu has been my go to when I have questions about verb tenses, which I have many and often. The drills are great as they help me understand what I need to practice and reinforce what I already know. There are lots of ways to configure Conjuu which has given me the flexibility to change the content and the drills.

I’m addicted. 39 days in the current streak with 20 verbs each day. It has lots of features easily overlooked: you can add verbs from a substantial dictionary, you can limit to irregular verbs, choose which tenses to include, for example. I wish I had learned earlier that it copies an answer into the next blank when you hit enter. Saves a lot of typing. I try all the language apps, and this has been the best for me. (I’d include Duolingo but it runs out of lessons far too soon).

Conjuu is exactly what I was looking for! You can select what verb tense(s) you want to practice, and you can hear the proper pronunciation of each conjugation, by simply tapping on the answers. Furthermore, the definition of each verb is also revealed by a quick tap. If you can’t remember the conjugation formula for that tense, there is even a pull down menu with a description. I don’t think there is anyway to improve Conjuu. Even the aesthetics are very clean and minimalist. This is a great deal for a single $7 payment. Thank you so much! This has greatly supplemented my language learning.

I have the Spanish and French versions of Conjuu. They're the next best thing to manual verb drills. The "copy" feature makes it super-easy to quickly enter your verb conjugations. The lookup feature allows you to look up conjugations for all verb tenses and moods for the verb you're working on. Bravo and merci for such a useful and well-designed verb conjugation drill app.

This is the best app I have ever used. This is also the first one I ever thought of getting the premium version! I wish they had a deal to buy the premium version for the 4 languages with a discount. I’ll have to choose one of them for now.
