Been playing this game free for 7 years plus. And still being a low level player there is no way I can compete with players who buy into this game. Then there’s the (in game) crybabies who complain about being attacked, so they get their buddies to wipe you out. Which makes you basically start from scratch. There’s also lots of bullying going on also, the higher level players will ruin your game experience, and keep attacking you for days & weeks on end telling you, you can’t play unless you follow their rules which have nothing to game rules. I’ll also mention the world chat in the game. Players on world chat are very rude and call you unfit names while others also jump in and start calling you names. And last but not least is the customer support. In some cases they will cut down on players hate speeches, but will do nothing about the bullying. They just tell you to hit the ignore button, but that has nothing do do with the constant attacks you get, so it’s not worth the time or effort involved trying to get anywhere unless you spend the big bucks. I’ve also noticed that they (customer service) say they keep reporting individuals private, but they must have game programmers (which in no way can you compete against) who play, because my reporting a certain player told me exactly what I reported. All in all it’s amazing to see the game getting 2.6 star rating, I figured it would be lower.

Opening screen says Update game to 5.3.5. I click ok and it takes me to App Store, which shows latest version to be 5.3.0. So, I open App Store and don’t see an available update. Whether it’s Gree or RockYou, the developers and server geeks make this game a joke. It’s a fun game. I WILL NOT spend my real money for virtual items, so I’m always WAAAAAY behind on comms and upgrades. Come on RY, get it straight. By the way, I also play Final Fantasy XV. They give AWESOME prizes...including tons of free gold. By the thousands, they give away gold. Gree/RockYou could learn a few things from them.

So, it still applies. The developers and owners of this game are not very customer oriented. I don’t play Final Fantasy any more. But it was a pretty cool game. Just no time to play two games.

I once loved this game when anyone could play it but it has now become so complicated with all the added stuff that it’s impossible to play and be competitive unless you have been playing it for years. If you’re new to it don’t waste your time because you’ll never be able to be competitive. Large players can attack the smallest players and just make it completely unenjoyable. It is just way to complicated now and will take you a year to understand everything and you’ll have to spend a lot of money to be even close to being competitive. I bet the player numbers haven’t grown very much over the last year because of that. Needs to be simplified and large dominate players shouldn’t be able to slaughter smaller players.

To be successful in this game, you will need to spend A LOT of money to defend against the top players. It's hardly a game when you can easily purchase your way to the top. The game is simple - the person who spends the most money wins. Customer service & support is terrible.
Today, the game won’t even open, says a new version 5.11 needs update. Follow link to App Store, & I have the current version, there’s no update option; even after reboot. It is impossible to login or update, meanwhile your likely taking a beating from others who may be logged in & you are defenseless. I probably missed an option to pay $ to have reliable access to the game - it’s how they make money. Stay away unless you have lots $ to be competitive!

FROM WORLD 47 This game has been broke since I been playing it for the past month or so. Spent a good amount on upgrading to speedups, teleports etc….to get to a certain level to play with the more powerful players there. Everything has led up to this event STRONGHOLD. I finally was strong enough to play, and now the game is broken all of a sudden. You can’t attack the strongholds because they are literally bubbled. Other alliances are in them collecting points to win, while we have to sit back and can’t do nothing. The company needs a class action lawsuit. This has been going on for years as the reviews tell you what’s been going on the whole time. A refund for all the effort to get to this point is needed for all. This game is a scam. And if you don’t do nothing about l, they will continue to do so.

If I could give this game no stars I would. I started playing this game almost as soon as it came out. Back then it was a great game I would’ve rated it 5 stars really quick and been proud to... now this game is a pay to play in that if you do not spend money the people that do will destroy you.. the lag and constant reconnection issues are a big problem. Sometimes I spend 5 minutes even trying to log on. I’ve been charged gold on purchases that my inventory said I had and they won’t do anything about it when it’s 100% on the servers fault.. the customer service is a joke in itself.. if you have never played this game don’t start now and if you’re returning to this game then do yourself a favor and quit again. Any 5 star reviews are most likely fake and only there to try and stay relevant on WarofNations Store.

Use to be a great game but has steadily gone downhill.. mostly because the owners an developers don’t know what they are doing and are way to greedy.. everytime they update anything, 5 new problems show up and instead of updating all ltms an fixing issues that’s been around for a long time, they put out new coms with new way to do them and want us to pretend like everything is wonderful.. garden city games may be the worst company that’s ever bought this game.. there customer support is non existent an they refuse to give you a refund on things that are 100% there fault.. the only thing they do is send you a form letter saying they r looking into it.. then you MIGHT get a 2nd email stating that they are closing yr case because it was handled when in fact it was not handled at all… do not waste yr money on this broken game

I have been a player of this game for five years and within my time playing, the owner of WarofNations has changed three times and each company uses it as a platform to take advantage of its community by taking their money without fixing the current problems. The lag is the biggest problem, the game does not load half the time, waves do not send or land, the game crashes, and even with the players constantly sending in complaints about it, the devs choose to turn a blind eye. It’s like they don’t even play their own game to see how it actually works. They just move onto the next add on that requires us to pay for it. It is really a pay to win game now because if you don’t pay for the best, it will take YEARS to even be able to compete. I bought a bundle one time and the game charged me twice. I submitted a ticket and it took them TWO months to get back with me about it and even after they reached out to me, it took another month just to get what i bought. This was the last time I ever spent money on this game Do not download and get sucked into this game because you will be on your own.

I literally started playing this game when it first came out years ago (Gree). It was a fun grinder with rewards for time and teamwork. You earned your way into the larger Alliances. You earned the Commanders that led your troops through combat events. You grew stronger by participation and team strategy.

That eventually all changed when WarofNations allowed you to spend real money to purchase the actual commanders. No longer did you have to grind or even play - all you had to do was just drop a few hundred $$$ and you could instantly have the best and latest ones available. The day that happened this game began to die.

It is now run by spenders! I get on now and then - most of my friends from my original alliance are long gone. The reward for playing isn’t there anymore. Whoever wants to spend the most wins. And this comes from someone who easily spent over $5000 on this game over the years. I can no longer even compete. Crazy!

The game is ok, the game play and server performance is HORRIBLE. lately the game has suffered greatly during events. People like myself have spent money and in return we get ungrateful customer service who won’t return accidental purchases or missing items, or who don’t know how to value paying customers or anyone for that matter. They have reps emailing you but might as well be automated systems. They reply like they’re robots. and they have no clue how the game is played or how it works. You have to explain in full detail countless times till they get your problem and in the end all pointless because they give you a stupid response like “sorry commander, unfortunately, we can’t help you” but please continue playing our game and spending your hard earned money. Same events for years now w the exception of one “global conquest” and it would be a nice event if it actually worked 😂 this company Rock You is a joke! they had a server break down and because of it, I lost my units, and units that I spent resources (resources that I acquired with real money) to be able to keep. Well when I lost those units, I emailed to get them back and they would do it. 10-15 emails later I gave up. Thanks for nothing rock you!

This game used to be really fun and time consuming but I don’t play as much as I used to because of whoever is in charge of the making or changing of this game they intentionally burn Through your fuel and what that does is take away all your units which can take up to hours days and weeks no matter how many refineries you build they will always do this I believe it’s a sad time for the creators of war of nations to try and get every cent from the players because they want you to buy their ridiculous price items and units at the store in the past I’ve spent quite a few bucks to get ahead in this game quicker but no matter what you do you could never build enough refineries to make them stop wiping out all your units that take so long to build... I’ve written them in the past about my concerns all I got back was sorry for the inconvenience they would work out the bugs which never happened so remember if you get screwed in the game like I did your buyer self.

I have been playing War of Nations since it was released, and I found it enjoyable; however, within the last few months, I have been unable to play any events except the Campaign. Every base I have gets all of their units wiped out, so I can participate. I have had battles with 3,000 of every type of unit (oil & iron and variety), Defense Grid, and active attack & Defense boosts with a lower level Attack leader, and they wipe me out and I am only able to kill their low end units choppers, tanks, jeeps, etc. Then I have no units to participate in any events. I would not recommend wasting your time,until they are able to balance play and make it more difficult to bottom feed. I think I am going to give them a little more time to fix it before, give it up, and focus on Modern War which is more balanced for novice and experienced players alike. Also if you get attacked you don't receive battle points, and as soon as they added Carbon edition, every base was wiped of units. The people who use gold will be alone if this continues. Even events that I can participate in take a half an hour to find an opponent, which is much to long.

I started playing WoN back in 2013ish, was the most exciting mobile experience I’ve ever had if we are taking games. Easy to compete, some strategy in the line-ups that you used and battle on. However as the game has progressed and its practically pay-to-win, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but you as a lower level player have tons of catching up to do, unless you begin in a new world you will have tons to learn and getting to those top bracket players to which I once was is almost near impossible unless you are dropping hundreds if not a “G” on this game. It’s fun, but not worth the restart for me. Hope this is changed in the future.

To start, if you are a new player, I suggest your debit card be connected to your iTunes because that’s the only way you are going to catch up.

Solution-Tiered competition (almost like SH) for power levels so everyone can get rewards

Pay to win- The longer the game survives, the more commanders become useless, I myself got caught way behind whenever I took a years break, now I’ve been forced to spend some money to catch up. Which was useless because now that I refuse to spend anymore I find myself slowly falling behind again although I play 2 hours a day or more.

Solid- The games player base is amazing, there is a rich feeling of competition and love in the community. Also, the game is very complex and I as a player appreciate that. I have had a lot of fun in this game but there are major problems that keep it from 5 stars.

Also... the servers are always awful. Hope Rock You is doing the work they always promise because it isn’t reflecting in the game yet...

The good
Players are great and the strategy games are fun. I’ve had some friends over 5 years.

The bad
The gifts given are inadequate. There are pay for packages that give you good stuff but the free gifts and ltms don’t get your account very strong without money to buy good gifts. This game would be great if you could get better gifts and ltms that would help strengthen a good player.

The ugly
They will move commanders over and over. Each commander is stronger than the next so your stuck buying good commanders to keep up.

The worst part is you need to elevate your normal and experimental upgrades for commanders for their health and damage to be good. This will cost you lots of money and a lot of times the experimental upgrades fail, whether you spent money or were patient enough to wait for the resources to try once. Hope this review helps the game maker realize what needs to change.

This game is perfect for people who likes the “tycoon” games but then when you train units and try to speed up it says 5000 gold to do up to 80 percent gone then it gives you so many alerts when I start it up and get in I check then when I come out of profile each time it goes through the same cycle from the start and then when you watch battle all they do is shoot at each other I think it needs to be like how it is in a book I read they say it’s a hologram and shows the army’s fight so plz get these fixed

Ok now this may be a stretch for some people but I think that in terms of mobile games new and old this is one of the best and here’s why it has a cool base building system I have not seen used in anything other than this game the was to get commanders is not hard but not easy either just takes some getting there on the world I am on it’s not active as some other games or worlds probably which is expected because it’s such an old game however they are all cool and not toxic at all which I have seen some reviews say that their worlds are run by overpowered jerks who hold 1 for months but personally my experience has been good and I think this is one of the best games yoI can find on WarofNations Store.

If you love pvp, strategy, war, building with alliances or any war quest this is the best game for you; although it does require money for you to be any good just remember spend what you can, it’s highly addictive I wouldn’t be surprised if people ruined there lives because of it...yes it’s that good ! It’s a game of building for weeks, months, and years. You build with your alliance, build friendships and even enemies. Every week there’s alliance wars events when alliance have all ourt war ! events where you take over shipment holdouts while other alliances try to take them from you, vise versa. It’s very fun, the unlimited power build keeps you going and keeps the game fierce !

I have playing War Nations for 8 years. Once a player becomes familiar with the game rules, it’s fun to play. One recommendation is to join a well establishes Alliance and seek mentoring from the experienced players. My only negative comment is related to several players using foul language and sometime racist slurs in the Open World Chat. I hope the game developers monitor these chats and take actions. Still, it is an awesome game with a lot of wonderful players. Once you understand the game, you will love it and you will work hard at making time to play. Join a good Alliance is key to learn and enjoy. I highly recommend this game.

I’ve played this game for a long time and a lot of people say that you have to pay to do good but that’s not true at all. I’ve never spent a penny but I enjoy the game a lot people just don’t get the strategy of the game! It’s a lot more strategy than it looks such as unit mixes, lvling comms, how to pure merge, the difference in units like lr/mr/sr. It gets as deep in strategy as you want to go it’s amazing! Great game rock you!
HOWEVER pls fix the bugs on the start up some times the game won’t let me in for a while and then it will randomly load like normal other times... pls help this and get back to me😊
