There are so many mentions of cannabis being OMIGAWD SO VERY ADDICTIVE when that’s literally just not true, like, this was definitely written by big pharm trying to keep you from taking something other than their overpriced drugs. I’ve read a few entries, and so far, every listing for supplements is very negative, claiming that none of them work. I’m not saying supplements work or not, it just seems like AboutHerbs wants you to think they don’t at all.

I used to LOVE AboutHerbs! It worked flawlessly.. Updates were always good.. Info checked out so it was reliably useful on the go.. Now I can't even open it! 😩😢 It was opening for a while but would freeze and I couldn't use it. Then came another update and now it immediately crashes. It isn't my phone - this is the ONLY app I have any issues with. Users beware right now. PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP so I can use it again! 😖 VERY disappointed in the function after weeks of this nonsense.

Honestly, AboutHerbs is only putting out about 2% of truth when it comes to natural herbs and also I suggest people do their own research. It’s sad that the truth about natural cures is so censored. I wouldn’t have gave it one star but I had to in order to leave a review.

I'd like for you guys to extend the search function. Instead of only being able to search by name, why not have it to where you can search by use too? Simply have a premade list of uses and when someone clicks on a use, it'll show the herbs that are used that way. Other then that, it's good.

AboutHerbs is great and informative if you know what plant you are looking for. I wish you could put in what the problem is and then it’ll bring up all the plants that would be good in those situations. I would pay for something like that!

I really appreciate the information AboutHerbs has but it used to work in landscape mode and i really miss that or I would have given 5 stars.
Please fix for landscape mode!

Would recommend but there is a very common plant missing, and that’s mint. I love mint and it was the first thing I looked for but it only has peppermint. Still a good app. Text is small as well.

I’m running competitive research of medicinal herb apps because I had an idea to develop an app as a side project. Then i find this gem! I’m moving forward with my project and taking the reviews here into consideration. Excited to find my initial idea to allow users to browse based on their main symptom and track a remedy that way is what the user wants. Also, my app won’t be backed by their fine medical institution but it will definitely have better UX (user experience). Best of luck to you on your search for herbal solutions!

This is what I consider the medical reference for herbal medicine. It uses medical and clinical studies in the summary and also advises about contradictions and adverse reactions. It has been a fantastic tool for using herbs medicinally .

Still the same great app. Had to uninstall first then download again to upgrade. After that, has been working great. There are new herbs and updated information.

Update: I uninstalled AboutHerbs like someone recommended and reinstalled and now AboutHerbs works again :). No more crashes on opening AboutHerbs . Its now back to 5 stars.

AboutHerbs is easy to use, I really like that it has a professional and lay views. Streamlined, helpful, and concise. I only wish it had more on essential oils! Still, this is a really great resource for evidence based information on alternative options where the research is few and far between.

Pretty good app. I appreciate that herbal remedies should not be used in place of medicines for any serious problems (an herbal tea instead of melatonin or indigestion medication is fine), but I love how you explain what chemicals are present in the plant are shown to help the various conditions under the right dosage and circumstances.

Might I suggest including Plantago/Plantain as THE healing poultice for centuries; even being mentioned in some of Shakespeare’s works.

Eating a bit of charcoal or wood ash can help with indigestion. (I’ve also heard that eating activated charcoal can help with detoxifying from barracuda poisoning, but I don’t know how accurate that is)

Pouring a bit of melted wax on a bee sting or broken sea-urchin quill and allowing it to cool can help to safely remove them without further pushing them in or breaking them off.
