For the Stubborn Snorer

I’ve been telling my husband for years he snores. It has gotten so bad in recent years that we sleep many nights apart. I always felt this impaired our relationship. Enter this app and SnoreGym.

He finally agreed to do some exercises with SnoreGym, the companion app. I bought it and once money was involved, he agreed to do the “silly exercises”. I then urged him to try this app so he could see if the exercises made any difference. His first night of use he scored in the high 200s and was blown away. He went back and listened, surprised to hear how epic his own snoring is. I was exonerated from “crazy sensitive sleeper” status as he realized he is actually quite loud. A few weeks later with SnoreGym, his snore score is down to the 50s. We are able to sleep in the same room again! This is the fulfillment of the promise of technology improving our lives.

An added bonus: after buying pro, he realized that he is not getting as much sleep as he thought (it tracks your hours) and put that together with how drained he feels throughout the day. This has led to him making a real effort to get to bed earlier and truly wind down. All of this with minimal prompting from me because he can finally see on his phone how poorly he was sleeping. Amazing apps, worth every penny.

Game changer

I have used SnoreLab for 2 years now and it has been a game changer. I was able to figure out what helped reduce my snoring and what didn’t. My snore scores went from in the hundreds to single digits. I keep monitoring it just to ensure it stays low. Everyone who snores could benefit from SnoreLab — best app I have ever purchased.

Without SnoreLab I would never have known that propping my head & shoulders up at night (a bit higher than a wedge pillow) AND...having a fan blow on me (yes!) would be all I needed to virtually stop snoring. I discovered the fan helped quite by accident and because of SnoreLab. And, no, it’s not the white noise (altho that might be part of it) but the actual movement of the air. No idea why this works. Also, the noise of the fan is NOT drowning out the sound of my snoring. That is not why my score is so low now. It is low because I am virtually no longer snoring and I owe it all to SnoreLab.

What’s that sound

I was told that I snore by my husband. As soon as he told me this I called my doctor and he got me referred to a clinic for a sleep study and my journey began. I have mild apnea so I was prescribed a CPAP machine at first I was having a lot of trouble adjusting to the machine. My face hurt, I had pressure in my chest, I was having dry mouth and my nostrils where dry and painful. Then I started having eye pain which I did realize at the time but later would be cluster headaches. Then the last thing that happened that made me say no more was I woke up and the CPAP hose was around my neck so much that I did know how to get myself unraveled. One day I was driving in town and saw a sign outside a dentist office. The sign said CPAP not working for you. I said YES , but didn't call right away but when I did call to find out what it was about what they offered. I was so pleased that there where options out there and I had stumbled upon mine. Well the dentist recommended me to do a trail of sleep lab and once I did it for several days I was hooked. So that was that SnoreLab is great for tracking how long I sleeping to how long I was snoring to how loud my snoring was. Sometimes it’s hard to listen to my self snoring but the mouth device is working and I don’t have to be restricted with the CPAP. I recommend to a friend that snores.

They listen all the time and sell your info

I downloaded SnoreLab to try it out. It seems to work well for the snoring part. Then I started to get all sorts of ads for stuff I was talking about during the day pop up on my computer. Went to my privacy settings and snore lab was the only thing with mic access. It tells me that they are listening all the time and selling the stuff to advertising companies.

***Update. They sent me a message that they don’t track unless a session is active and then an article on digital advertising. While the article was an interesting read, and they were blaming either someone I work with and somehow another app knew they were talking to me or I googled something….I will say that it was not a random coincidence that 4 different random things that have to do with work popped up on my browser. Never googled the stuff we were talking about because we have warehouse stock the guys can grab stuff from. Coincidentally once I deleted SnoreLab , it all stopped. Maybe it was someone else or crazy digital advertising. All I can speak to is what I saw and experienced. My mic didn’t have any other permissions and it all coincided with SnoreLab.

Really did help me sleep better

After a few nights, I bought the $10 upgrade to SnoreLab. It’s both the most expensive app I’ve ever bought, and some of the best money I’ve ever spent. I have been experimenting with different types of anti-snore devices to see what works best and is most comfortable for me, and SnoreLab helped me quickly and objectively rate how effective they are at preventing me from snoring. The interface is easy, and it supports every feature I wanted. After spending literally thousands of dollars on sleep medicine doctors, I’m now sleeping better after using SnoreLab to help me choose between a few, comparatively inexpensive, over-the-counter remedies. This ended up far more effective than I had imagined (specifically for me, the tongue-retention class of device), and SnoreLab helped me do it in a couple of weeks (and I knew what was and was not working after each night!)

Excellent

Really great app to understand how to minimize snoring. After 30 days with different remedies, I could really see what reduces snoring and what doesn’t. I found, from least to most effective, were: (no treatment), Smart Nora, sleeping on my side, and CPAP. For loud snoring, CPAP led to less than 1/2 as much as Smart Nora. None of the example graphs on SnoreLab site show it, but you can do graphs comparing the effectiveness of different remedies, which is very helpful.

Snore Lab needs improvement in distinguishing snoring sounds from background noise such as sheets rustling, partner walking to bathroom, street noise, etc, all of which is logged as loud or “epic” snoring, and even the fan on CPAP, which is logged as “light” snoring. Those sounds seem so distinct, surely a bit more acoustic processing can distinguish them from snoring, which would give more accurate results.

Easy to use, nice interface, not very accurate

I started using SnoreLab because I wanted to optimize my sleep and see if I was having any difficulty breathing in my sleep (in the past I have been someone who snores, but that was many years ago, and I do not have apnea nor require cpap).

It's a useful app in that it very effectively records the entire night (however creepy that might sound). However its reporting of snoring is not very accurate. I live in an urban area, and it identifies noises that aren't even very loud, like a car driving down my street, as snoring. Presumably because it is louder than the sound of my breathing (one of the useful features of SnoreLab is that it is sensitive enough to notice regular breathing rhythms, so I've been grateful to learn that I am actually breathing well).

So it's useful for examining your breathing, but it's not very accurate at detecting snoring in an environment that has random ambient sounds.

Amazing technology!

SnoreLab is amazing! Whoever invented this is a genius! My snoring caused problems in my marriage and on overnight girl’s trips. In the past I had tried a regular mouthpiece, snore extinguisher spray, sleeping on my side, etc. But when you are asleep, you don’t hear your snoring! SnoreLab allowed me to record and listen to my snoring and helped me adjust accordingly by monitoring the different results with remedies. I found that the Snore RX mouthpiece is far and above any other! It adjusts and holds your jaw in place while others give too much slack and lose their usefulness. Paired with a wedge pillow, I got my snore score from a whopping 109 down to an 11. Thank you for this amazing technology! I can now sleep sound knowing I am not annoying anyone else and I sleep better. 😃

Good app

I had a sleep study done and the recommendation was a Cpap or dental appliance. I chose the dental appliance because I didn’t want hoses and tubes bothering me while I slept. The DDS recommended this app to see how well the appliance worked. I downloaded SnoreLab and really liked the data. I didn’t realize after the trial you couldn’t record on consecutive nights. Liking the data so much I didn’t hesitate to buy SnoreLab . I would highly recommend SnoreLab to anyone that wants to track their sleep patterns. Very helpful in making sleep corrections and seeing the results. Only drawback I have to say is the Bluetooth not being able to be used once a session is started. A few times I have forgotten about this and have not gotten a night of recording. I really like waking up in the morning to look at my score to see how I slept.

Very helpful app

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea over 10 years ago and could not understand how that was possible when I didn’t sleep the entire night. The room was very cold and the bed quite uncomfortable. I got SnoreLab and noticed that I was in the range between one and three every night. But 2x it jumped up to 11 when once I was watching Netflix in bed and something within the dialogue of the show I was watching caused the recording part of SnoreLab to mark it as an Epic snore. The other time my husband was downstairs and was coughing and this time SnoreLab recorded it as a Loud snore. Both times I was already awake and realize that from now on I need to turn the recording part off whenever I get out of bed or am still in bed but reading or watching something on my iPad. Otherwise I’ve very helpful and informative app!

Epic!!!

SnoreLab is really amazing and these are not just empty words! It is easy to use and the results are clear and simple, giving an excellent indication of your snore score for the night but also graphs on your pattern over the days and weeks. It has given me the opportunity to test out some nose sprays, throats sprays, steaming etc., to see if any of these helped and I now have a better idea of what method is most effective. I tried another to compare but it just didn’t match up. After using the free option for 2 months now and between my husband and I having benefited greatly at no cost to ourselves, I have decided to buy the upgrade as SnoreLab truly deserves the accolades and support! Thank you to the developers for an excellent app!

Not just for snoring

I have regular, very intense nightmares. Almost nightly. I’ve been told I talk in my sleep and I have woken up crying multiple times. after my daughter came into my room and heard me talking in my sleep, she told me I said “don’t hit her, she’s a 75 year old lady!” I knew then that I had to hear what I was saying for myself. I found SnoreLab and I was sold. I use it every night and every morning I hear myself say something. I love that I can save clips, and it is fascinating knowing what I say. My only recommendation would be to make it allow users to download and send those clips to their doctors (or anyone they want).

Thank you for solving a problem I didn’t think there was a solution for!

Love seeing how much snoring I have with and without CPAP. I was getting an oral device to try in place of CPAP. I didn’t care much for the oral piece, I continued to snore but less than without CPAP. I didn’t like how in the morning my jaw was shifted to the right. You do need to realign your front teeth to be sure your back teeth Touch. It can also cause permanent change to your teeth. (It’s in the information the sleep apnea dentist gives you. Should’ve talked to my orthodontist first. She said she’s seen multiple jaw and mouth adjustments and all sorts of conditions.
After $3000 for an oral airway I continued to snore. With just the CPAP no
snoring. I agree it’s a great app. Just do your research before investing in oral airways vs CPAP. In fact I was told I may need to use both. App is great.

I Don’t Snore!

When a potential roommate asked if I snored, I said I didn’t know. The assumption was if no one ever told me then I probably didn’t. That’s when I decided to find out and selected SnoreLab. I was shocked when I woke up the next morning and saw that I do snore. I would have never known had I not used SnoreLab. SnoreLab offers suggestions to help with the reduction/elimination of your snoring. I’ve tried a few remedies and have seen a reduction on certain nights. I’d like to invest in this “egg” contraption, but the price is too steep for now. I did upgrade and paid $9 bucks to remove ads and increase storage space. I think SnoreLab is extremely helpful. The data is accumulative and can be presented to medical professionals. Good app!

Snooze function is not working since iOS 11.2

The snooze function is not working since the iOS update to 11.2. I have overslept twice since only the initial alarm goes off and then nothing follows sound wise. I see on the screen that the snooze is going off but it allows no sound from either the iPhone alarm or the snooze from within SnoreLab . Before this I thought this was a 5 star app, but now I can barely say it is worth one if using it causes me to be late for work.

The program is almost unusable if it prohibits snooze from the iPhone alarm or from SnoreLab alarm clock. I almost want a refund because of this issue. Actually I think I have had SnoreLab for less than 30 days. If I can’t trust my phone to wake me up while using SnoreLab, I can’t use it.

No longer able to curate audio events

The latest update doesn’t allow you to set an audio event as “not snoring” from the main waveform overview. Instead, you have to go thru a list of 374 recorded audio events on a separate screen, one by one, which is painstaking and entirely impractical.

Now I can’t remove false positives, for instance when I move around in bed or get up at night. Without the curation, my snore score is no longer accurate. Thanks for degrading the functionality of your #1 tool. It was working fine before the latest update.

Also, now when I press stop on the audio from the main page, it closes the audio view and I lose my place in the 8 hour waveform. In order to return to where I was, I have to hunt and peck in the waveform to find out where I was. This is frustrating and impractical. SnoreLab was working fine, why was it changed to make it unusable?

Very useful and getting better

I rarely spend money on apps, but after using the free version occasionally, I decided $10 was not much to invest in trying to improve my sleep. The recordings are very useful in experimenting with different snoring solutions or factors that play into snoring (eating, alcohol etc). The developers are constantly enhancing SnoreLab . I’m even using the nature sounds to fall asleep to (my snoring scores seem reduce when I do). One thing I discovered is that my wife snores also, but it’s fairly easy to distinguish between the two of us in the recordings. One suggestion would be to add that to the factors selection (spouse/partner in bed).

Great app, but my dog spoiled it

So SnoreLab works great, as long as your room is quiet all night. It listens for sound, so this makes perfect sense. However, my husband has a sound machine (crickets is his favorite sound), and it picked that up as “light snoring”. Also, my outside dog barks sometimes (especially at the full moon - she isn’t a werewolf, though, I promise.). It picked that up as “epic snoring”. So my scores weren’t accurate and I had to listen to each recording to figure out what was me and what was other loud stuff. Idk if it’s possible to technologically mute out certain sounds, like, tell SnoreLab “This sound is my dog - ignore it”, but that would be great. But for a free app, it works fine and is easy to use if you sleep in a really quiet environment!

Awareness is Epic

The first step in changing an action is to recognize it. Using SnoreLab subconsciously tells your body that something is not quite right when you are sleeping. Within the first 5 nights of use my score dropped from an 82 down to a 29! Since then it has bounced a little bit and now I am focusing on my diet, actions, and habits before going to sleep. I am inherently a very active person and sometimes go from full throttle to zero mph! This has proven to have a negative effect on my quality of sleep. Pillows and bed clutter are other things one must consider before diving into apparatuses that may treat the symptom and not necessarily attack the causes.

Thank you Snore Lab !!

Help me diagnose my sleep apnea

My wife kept telling me that I have sleep apnea. I didn’t believe her. I thought I just snored. I found SnoreLab and discovered that I quit breathing up to 30 seconds multiple times per night. I bought an oximeter which helped verify that my oxygen levels were plummeting during these moments of not breathing. That got me to the doctor and got me the help I need. I later found out that my sleep apnea had probably been responsible for a cardiac failure a few years before. Now, with a CPAP, I feel much more confident about my health. What a great little app. It adds good information without having to go to a sleep lab.

Crucial

Snore lab is extremely interesting and helpful. I knew I had sleep apnea because I was diagnosed with that years ago but could never stand a CPAP machine. I was kind of hoping it went away but I can clearly see from my this app results that I still have it. I had ordered a dental apnea device but really didn’t like it and didn’t want to use it. It was sitting in my drawer for years. As soon as I saw my this app results I pulled that thing out and now I wear it every single night. I feel like I’m saving my life. Thank you snore lab. I happened upon you by total accident but I’m so glad I did.
Update: Now I see that the dental device is still not enough. Going to see a sleep doc so I can get a handle on my snoring/ breathing problem. Hoping they have come up with a better solution than that c-pap in the last 10 years.

Still tired when I wake up

I have tried these cpap 2 different times. Still wake up tired . Usually not always find I take it off after 4 hrs annoyed with it. Tried mask after mask some make me fe like I am suffocating. Finally have the one that sits under your nose is ok but leaks still. My whole sleep score for the month is 19 . Still don’t understand SnoreLab totally but like it am still trying things to see what helps. Did not realize what I ate may also cause issues.
Think it’s so worth the price. Mines never been very high really. But want to feel better in the AM. My dr said I went from 12 stop breathing to 2 with the cpap. So it’s helped I have a lot of allergy’s post nasal drip as well.
I tried mouth guards, Tounge things nasal things chin strap all awful. Back to my c pap.. It’s a great App!

Excellent, useful app!

What a GREAT app. My wife and I both use oral applicances to deal with mild cases of sleep apnea and the this app app has been great to help us understand how things are going. It would be great if we could each have it running on our own side of the bed, but we are sleeping apart enough (travel!) that we typically can tell where the noise is coming from!!! Without this app we'd still be clueless. We use it every night. Second big benefit is how it prevents incoming email/text/etc notifications from alerting us while it is running. No need to silence alarms or shut off the phone. Peace and quiet all night long (except for my wife's snoring!). Thank you this app!

Objective data for better sleep

I’ve snored for many years, but I never realized the impact it had on sleep quality. After learning that sleep apnea and snoring cause behavioral disturbances such as irritability, I wanted to know if I was impacted. I talked to a pulmonary specialist who does sleep studies, and he recommended this app. My snore scores were significantly elevated between 50 and 75. I looked up remedies and tried a chin strap, which didn’t help. Then I asked my dentist to make me an oral retainer that advances my mandible. This had a huge impact, causing my scores to drop dramatically down to below five. I feel much better rested each morning. I highly recommend SnoreLab to anyone who snores.

By

Very functional

I paid up for the premium version and am glad I did. It is a straightforward "works exactly as it should" app. The microphone is extremely sensitive, so a sneeze in the kitchen may well show up as an "epic" event. But you can tell SnoreLab that wasn't snoring.
I use a mechanical wind-noise generator to smooth out any sharp, sudden noises, and SnoreLab faithfully records that, and the ticking of the ceiling fan, and the birds at dawn, and the toilet flushing.... all marked 'not snoring". So when it does catch snoring, I feel like I should pat it on the head for being so patient with my sound environment. Highly recommend for those curious as to what they get up to while asleep.

By

I regret my upgrade to 1 year after free beer

Premium version has a few extras but the sound/ recording quality of my samples is terrible. SnoreLab picks up any background noise and seems to use that as a baseline.
So I still get maybe a little handful of samples but a car driving by or airplane flying overhead, doors closing elsewhere in the house and even my cat using the litter box in the adjacent bathroom come in loud and clear. I had to stop using my air purifier at night if I wanted to get any snore samples at all. Even on the lowest setting way across the room SnoreLab will pick up white noise and entirely miss every any human noise. I slept with my phone next to my head and the white noise and outside sounds were still dominating my recordings. Wasted my money on full year subscription based on great reviews and added features, which aren’t worth the price. I want a refund or partial refund please.
