Once again my paper is on the ditch. I am 73 years old and cannot reach it. I called the Advocate two weeks ago to inquire about getting my rate reduced. Someone was supposed to call me back. No one ever did. I called last week to cancel my subscription and for some reason the paper is still being delivered. I wish to cancel my subscription. The representative on the phone says someone will call in 48 hours. At this rate the paper will still be delivered months from now. What must I do to cancel? I have been a loyal customer for over 55 years at two residents in Algiers and this one in Slidell. I cannot afford the Advocate any longer being on a fixed income. I quit buying your paper before for two major reasons. Number one had to do with not getting the paper and the other was because of the constant liberal bias. I didn't take long for me to remember why. I live in Baton Rouge and really don't care about N.O. local news and I am not sure if I have read a positive letter from that area about President Trump. Seems y'all have forgotten Trump won over 60% of the vote, if not higher, in La. and also won the popular vote across the country. I had been reading the Advocate or State Times since I was nine years old, 79 now, and the standards have fallen greatly. I had to laugh when I saw the letter about how good this paper is. He must have been a Pic reader. This used to be the best paper in the country hands down and the sports page was great, not anymore. National writers hate Trump and it comes in loud and clear in your paper. I also see you quit showing where the articles originate, why. I don't want to read a paper on line and have no intentions of doing so. What is the excuse why it is not being delivered now. You got my $100 but this paper has a long way to go to get me to reorder. Richard Fairchild

This is the second Saturday issue this month missed. I didn’t get the paper last Saturday and this Saturday. Please make sure I get my paper. Do I have a new deliver I know I only get it on Saturday and Sunday. But that’s all I can afford. For over 60 years I got it every day. But at 85 in the same house for 65 years. I miss my paper if I keep getting credit I’ll be dead before I can take advantage of the credit.

We did not get our e edition tuesday. No headsup in the paper prior to the changes or in the day it went live?. Its a newpaper so why wouldnt there been an article explaining the changes? Could not print my crossword puzzle? Something as simple as an explanation in the paper would have saved us all a lot of time and frustration. It was a simple process in the old format now it is a 6 step process that includes croping it first.... Really ?? What happen to good and informative customer service?

It is too difficult trying to talk to someone. No one answers the phone and I find it appalling that customers have to communicate with computers. Most times the computer does not understand what customers are saying. I am cancelling my subscription and hope that y'all get the cancellation email. When I first started The Advocate, my bill was approximately $14.00. Then it went up to approximately $25.00. On my last bill I was charged $32.28. I called about this and was told you would change the amount to $21.07 for the next nine months. I received my bill yesterday and the amount is still $32.28. I am a senior citizen and can not afford to pay that much. If something can not be done about this, I will have to cancel my subscription which I do not want to do. Also I received a letter saying the I will be billed every four weeks instead of every month which makes me pay an extra month because some months have five weeks in them. Then I received another letter saying that there will be special editions that will cost extra and if I don't want the special editions I will not receive the paper that day. Why can't the special section be omitted for the people who don't want it. I have been a loyal customer for many years and I don't think it is very fair what you are doing. I hope, when I receive my next bill it will be adjusted to a reasonable amount.

I am absolutely disgusted with the customer service at the Advocate! I have written 2 other emails besides this one regarding non-delivery of my newspaper-no response. I spoke to "Annette" this am, who was as helpful as she could be. I was then put on hold to speak to a supervisor but after being on hold for over twenty minutes, I gave up and hung up. I have not gotten a paper 4 out of 7 days this week alone. This has happened before and after complaining, the issue be resolved for a few weeks then start again. My next move is to cancel my subscription since I don't intend to pay for something I don't get!! Just AWFUL customer service.

I attempted to call but recorded message of little help than cut off. I was charged $13.57 on May 21 and then charged an additional $20.81 on June 9. Please explain! If I can't get an answer to this I will be forced to dispute the charges with my credit card provider. This is why people don't go paperless. Have been a customer for over 30 years and you are trying my patience. I am not a robot and soon may no longer be a subscriber.

Whoever is in charge of the appears to be not up to task. A while back, the app would just spin its wheels instead of opening up, because of which I deleted the app. Not long ago, I decided to install the app again. Although the app itself now opens up, what comes next indicates that The Advocate does not understand the concept of an app. After tapping on a story, what is almost always shown is the headline only. Even the teasers don't show.

If The Advocate is not going to have a proper app, it should be removed from the app store.

As soon as I finish this, I will delete the app.

I hate the Lee Michael’s ad

I hate having to stare at the Lee Michael’s logo EVERY TIME, EVERY SINGLE TIME, I open the app. If it were an instant, that would be fine. But it lasts WAY to long. Instead of reminding me to shop & enticing me with suggestions at Lee Michael’s like the print ads in The Advocate do, this makes me hate Lee Michael’s & never want to set foot in the shop or purchase anything again from there ever.

Also, I hate the formatting of the news items.

I appreciate the effort they put into providing local news to those of us living, working and/or traveling out of the area.
I find the app crashes. The select all option fails during seven out of ten attempts.
The read rate is painfully slow, I have to set the Speaking Rate to max in order to tolerate the slow speed.
Finding the new article announced by the icon is trying.
