If you were looking for a no cost recorder - do NOT bother downloading CallRecorder. While it is free to download - you are not given any time at all to record not even a minute portion of a single call. After download, you are directed to immediately purchase time in order to begin recording. Not to mention, the interface is about as beta - bland and boring as it gets (no options - no settings - no nothing). Also, in order to use it, you must place a call from CallRecorder itself. Therefore, no incoming calls or calls placed via the "phone" app already in place may be recorded. Save yourself the time and disappointment and choose another app.
I have tried several recordings each recording is static he with no voice only the beats throughout a 20 minute conversation I disapprove of CallRecorder if there’s anyway to resolve it and pull up my recordings I may keep CallRecorder and continue my subscription but at this time I would like to cancel my subscription and will be doing so promptly
CallRecorder I am testing mutable apps for call recording to see which one is the best one for me to use so far I’ve downloaded 4 apps 2 free trials and all but this one is oh my word I test called my friend and her phone did not ring she right next to me and I tested it with my home phone and the Ecco was un bearable
My god why why why no no no
God no
And I will be leave in this same review for all the ones I done installed today and tested so far as I have yet to fine one I’m still going to be looking but god
This is ridiculous plus people need to stop leaving fake reviews CallRecorder don’t work this recordings don’t work
As soon as I opened CallRecorder it said it couldn’t connect to the server and wanted to install its own vpn settings on my phone. I tried to click “Don’t Allow” on the pop up, but another pop up would appear before I could get out of CallRecorder . I couldn’t close CallRecorder . It was very frustrating not being able to get out. Fortunately I was able to open a different app using Siri, which got me out of this terrible infinite loop.
CallRecorder only allows you to record outgoing calls, and calls using CallRecorder are quieter than using just the phone and it is harder to hear the caller and for them to hear you.
Also, charges are per minute for phone calls. US calls are $0.10 / minute. Which is annoying.
However, this is the only app I could find that stores the recordings locally on my phone. All the other apps featured the "call merge" technique and recorded your call remotely and doesn't seem to be a secure way to record conversations I might want to.
I can never get CallRecorder to record when someone calls me, or if I do, I’ll follow instructions and merge calls using CallRecorder However, when I switch to merge calls so I can hear the other person again, the call looks like it’s recording, but it never does! Audio is blank! For me, CallRecorder doesn’t not record incoming calls, it only records Outgoing Calls! I’d recommend CallRecorder for Outgoing Calls only!
I had no problem with CallRecorder, until a week ago. Now it will not let me call a certain country, and when I tried to contact call recording through CallRecorder ....well what a surprise, the support button does not work and I cannot get in contact with anyone. If I am ever able to get the glitch fixed, I will do an update.
******UPDATE ******
I’m happy to report that the problem was fixed, and I can continue to make international phone calls.
CallRecorder is great. I use it frequently to record interviews for press materials I then write. In the past 4 or so years, it has only failed me once (the recording was almost completely obscured by "static" noise). Other than the one blip, it has been magic. Highly recommend.
CallRecorder works great, but when you run put of credit, instead of giving you the option to buy more credit so that you don’t loose the call, it just hangs up.
Recording have good sound quality and it is easy to use. I like just paying for minutes I need. $1 for ten minutes might not be best deal, but I only needed it for a single call.
I’m not too good with cell phones but this was real easy and I got to title the recording and email it to myself. Also I will not use it a lot so I like the option to pay as I go. $.10/min in USA
CallRecorder is easy to use and reliable. I hadn’t used it for a couple years and needed it again. Still worked perfectly.
I initially left a 1-star review for CallRecorder even though I used it successfully for years, starting with my first forays into journalism as a student and moving into my current career as an international correspondent, because I didn’t like how they moved to a subscription instead of pay-as-you-go model — and, more importantly, because an important call I tried to record on this version of CallRecorder didn’t download to my phone. But I contacted the support staff and they sent me the recording from their server within a few minutes. Honestly my best experience with an app support team ever. I still don’t like the subscription model, but the company actually also has a separate app with a pay-as-you-go model which I’ll be downloading and continuing to use regularly.
I've used CallRecorder for phone interviews for almost two years and have had next to no issues. So helpful; just remember to let your interviewee know you're recording him/her!
I have struggled with so many garbage call recording apps over the last 2 years. But this one is definitely the best one I've used. Here's why: (1) it is secure and stores recordings only on your device. DO NOT trust any recording app that involves merging your recorded call with a centralized call that's mediated by the company's server, especially if you care about the security of your data. (2) there is no decent, free app to record calls but his one is the best balance of cheap and high quality. I urge you not to trust the ones that claim to be totally free. This one doesn't charge you monthly, you just purchase what you need for a few dollars at a time. I have to conduct a few hours worth of interviews every 2-3 months and so I buy $10-15 in credits to accommodate. (3) You can export the recordings easily by email or Airdrop, which many of the other apps seriously struggle with for some reason (4) Crucially (because I need my interviews to be transcribable) the audio quality of the recordings is by far the highest of all the 6 or 7 apps I assessed.
Straightforward. Payment is made up front to load credit. Much better than paying to retrieve and download recordings. No dialing a ph # first then merging the call steps. This version is stable and just works.
Easy to manage and navigate, the recordings are crystal clear. Plus, the rates are amazing. Normally things where you have to buy minutes burn through them quickly but you get so much time for your money.
After Recorder shut their app down and it was removed from CallRecorder Store I had to find another call recorder app that was pretty much like it. CallRecorder seems to fit the bill perfectly. Works great so far and lets me buy credits instead of doing that monthly payment stuff - which I don’t care for. So far I like this one.
I love CallRecorder! It’s very easy to use and figure out. The sound quality is great and I can email it to myself as soon as I finished interviewing someone. I’m so glad I found this. I downloaded a couple of others before I got to this one and I just couldn’t figure them out. And so far, it has been very economical. I like that I can pay as I go and not have to commit to a monthly fee.
This program is worth every cent for the data captured. I am so happy it’s available, and that it truly works. Being able to email the conversation and share with others is the best part. Many things cannot be captured on email or text, but voice discussions with emotions, including unprofessional assistance are worth their weight in gold via CallRecorder. I can see how useful CallRecorder could be for any number of uses.
